Oinklahoma…what's your bet?

Home Forums Angry Birds 2 Forum Oinklahoma…what's your bet?

  • I would think Oinklahoma will be a Pig City, if not another Cobalt Plateaus, level pack. Because Oklahoma has many rural areas, I’m betting on Cobalt Plateaus or a regular Pig City. Of course, the former would sound like a continuation of Hamberg, which sounds more like a Pig City than the Cobalt Plateau that it is…but then I thought of something. Aside from the obvious ham pun, it’s Hamberg, not Hamburg, which would make sense since Berg is German and Swedish for “hill” and “mountain,” if that’s what Rovio intended. If the real Hamburg were a hill and not a city, then it, too, would, quite possibly, be called Hamberg. Interesting…

So far, there have never been two of the same level type in succession (apart from Flattering Heights and Mount Evernest).
I’m surprised enough that Hamberg is a Cobalt Plateaus-themed world, since I was thinking of it as a pun on Hamburg like you. And other big cities (like Stockholm as Steakholm) were Pig City-themed as well.

Oklahoma is not a city name but the name of a whole US state. I would’ve said Flattering Heights but now Hamberg took its place… call me crazy but I’ll say Bamboo Forest for Oinklahoma.

As I know from personal experience (hence the fact that I live there), Oklahoma is urbanizing very rapidly prior to the last 50 years, where cities and casinos have sprouted out of the once enormous Great Plains, raising the state’s overall rank in population to 28th (out of the 50 US states) since 2014- a big jump for being one of the last states (the 46th) to be added to the Union in 1907. Ever since then, the state has been “growing up” in rank and popularity, soon one day to become one of the most popular states in the USA…

Hamburg on the other hand might’ve been an oversight on Rovio’s side, most likely since the city is located in a desolated area of Germany, where rocks and hills are abundant, or maybe Rovio felt that the game had too many Pig City-themed areas (6 to be exact) that were overpopulating the game, removing variety of such.

Some of the worlds (and backgrounds) on the level map in the game lack detail or are set in areas that don’t match their real lie “counterparts”, such as Shangham, which should at lest have pagodas or cherry trees, or New Pork City/The Pig Apple, which needs towering skyscrapers and bustling streets. The rural areas are a problem too, such as Greenerville, which needs maybe a couple of farms and pastures at the most, or Greasy Swamp, which lacks anything “greasy” or swamp-like other than fog- we need some detail Rovio!

@smwforever45 There is an Oklahoma City, which was why I thought of the Pig City theme. Since the state is urbanising fast, we may even have another Pigsyland-type level pack. Bamboo Forest sounds interesting, as Oklahoma has Ouachita National Forest (shared with Arkansas)…albeit devoid of bamboo.

And, @rowdypup, I agree. IMO, detail is paramount!

I’ve looked through the data files and I actually know what the theme for Oinklahoma is going to be.

If anyone wants to know I can share it here.

My bet it will be Pig City since Cobalt Plateau’s has already had 2 level pack.

@jon3800 It turned out to be a regular, not festive, Pig City pack. It’s been long since we’ve had basic Pig City levels!
