Lost game progress

Suddenly Epic thinks I just completed Arena Season 1 week 9/14, my level 44 birds are level 12, classes are all 3-4, etc. Logging out and back in doesn’t help. Trying a different device doesn’t help. Loading the latest update doesn’t help. Googling the symptom offers no clues. I have not played on a different device for weeks.

Any chance this is recoverable?

How the heck can this happen so I can avoid it in the future?

You should contact Rovio with your Rovio Account information. They can likely restore a recent version of your progress.

They may be able to restore (as they did in my case) but by no means was it recent. At the end of last year / start of this year I encountered such a problem – and their last backup was SIX weeks old (read: I lost six weeks of playing).
