How to get more for your gems

I found out by plotting some data on an xy chart in an excel spreadsheet that there is a good strategy to get more for your gems when fast forwarding your TF upgrades.

I found that the progression is not linear. It is parabolic. Meaning that each gem you spent in shorter fast forwards can fast forward less time than each gem spent in a longer fast forward.

So here’s what you do: Save up your gems, and spend as many as possible per fast forward. You will maximize how much time gets fast forwarded, and your gems will get you more :) Be patient! it will pay off in the long run!

Gems = Gem cost to fast forward
Time = Total Time in minutes left to upgrade TF
Days = Days left to upgrade
Hours = Hours left to upgrade
Minutes = Minutes left to upgrade.

Great! I still don’t know how to spend my gems wisely, but I may save a LOT of them for future use.

Nice Calculation, I thought i had noticed it became less worthwhile over time.

For those frugally-minded; I actually use gems when possible at the 4m 07s mark when it costs 1 gem to intercept. I figure a gem is worth 100 coins (that’s what gems are valued at when trying to buy something) – but using 1 gem gets the transformer fully charged, which may be cheaper than recharging the transformer (600 coins for full recharge). Then you can play levels and earn more coins. Only downside is that gems are needed for certain things…

Even better now that if you intercept with one gem you get the eggbot you can hit for coins, and often a reset of level after doing the eggbot one.

Sorry final update – another user noted that you can intercept for zero if you hit the node right as counting down to zero, so free eggbots!
