Gift gained, but not acknowledged

Mostly I have no trouble earning and sending gifts, however, it has happened to me a few times now, that I have collected a gift during the game, but when the game ends, the gift is not there for me to send to anyone. It has disappeared. This is bad enough on its own, but is a zillion times worse when I have spent 60 gems to get extra birds to finish a level. Is anyone else having this problem?

Is it possible that there is one of those pesky tiny pigs hiding somewhere that hasn’t been popped? Fairly often I wonder why the game is going to the next scene or completing, only to discover that there is a pig hiding somewhere. On a few levels there are pigs that are pretty well hidden to begin with.

That’s really strange, I never had such problem. But I can give you an advice: never spend gems just to collect a gift. You can easily get a lot of gifts in level 9 and 13 without spending anything.
