Bot Customizations … upgrades to armor/weapon/vehicle ??

Some of the most expensive customizations that cost >300 gems look like they might be upgrades instead of just for looks. Can anyone verify this?

Not sure how you’d “measure” it, maybe a before & after picture of the screen that shows the 3 horizontal bars of level/progress?

The Character items does not help in any sort of upgrades to the bots.

It looks like you need to spend 300+ crystals to earn a 3 crystal award achievement. I’m going to have to pass this one by.
