About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

Hi there! At first, I’d like to thank all developers for this brilliant game as it was before the new PvP. Secondly, I’d like to thank all of them for their extreme greediness (free 19 gems a day, ha-ha-ha!). :(((
And finally, I got a question for everybody here. I’m dead sure all of you are very annoyed by very smartass people from eastern Asia who cracked AB2 on their 3-dollar androids and got unlimited gems and lives. I’ve got 39-th rank, 6-th birds, 40 gold medals in Briliant League and I’m very tired of them, who paid ZERO, got 11-th rank, 8-th birds and endless spells. How can I beat them in PvP? Developers, hello??? So, question… :) If I goes down to Vanilla League do I loose anything (rank, stars, medals, etc)? Thanks in advance!

@trash2002 — Hope you know that AngryBirdsNest is not part of Rovio, so unless someone from Rovio happens to read your post, you sarcasm will not be appreciated by those who should get it.
I don’t think you lose anything if you go down to vanilla league. I hope you know if you exit the game and hard close it, when you return you will get a new opponent. You didn’t mention which device you are playing on???

Iphone, Ipad. Does it really matter? :) So, I go down to the very beginning in PvP and annihilate everybody there. That’s not fair neither. :) Rovio gotta do smth with balance or just close the Arena, imho. They just won’t be able to find so much resources to check such a huge database. New patch or update won’t solve this situation.

I’m quite confused as to how the AB2 Arena works, can someone help me?
Obviously it doesn’t happen live since your opponent could opt out, take hours for a single move, or the like. How does the game determine what score the opponent gets for a slung bird? Is it random based on the stage you’re playing on, or is a previous go by another player used as a reference, even if their stage had differences to yours? That would explain why sometimes I get opponents that score 0 on their first move and then catch up to me within 2 turns.

Good point Capt. It’s almost like each of us has our own individual bugs. I just saw some pics on the Bugs thread and my mind was boggled. Some folks are getting moved around from group to group in the arena. That would be very frustrating. Mine seems to be the immortal pigs and my Daily Challenge crashes every time I defeat it. I absolutely loved this game but I had to quit. Feels real good actually. Someone posted a few months ago that the game was held together by string and duct tape- they might have a very good point. Special thanks to whomever put the Nest together. I’ve been using the videos here for a couple years to help me get 3 stars in various AB games. It was AB2 that provoked me to finally post some comments. I certainly hope this game gets it together. It has serious potential.

Dwhite, I have seen your comments and have empathy for your frustrations. Today’s daily challenge is impossible, I think. The way I see it is like when I play golf, if I took it seriously I would be having a very bad day. But golf is fun while very frustrating and occasionally I make a good shot, and that makes the day worthwhile.

Like you, I have been using this site for a couple of years to get these walk-throughs and get three stars in various versions of the game. But honestly I hardly ever look at those older versions now. Even with all the issues and frustrations I am stuck on AB2. Kind of like I was stuck on playing golf for a while. :)

Can someone explain to me how having an opponent in the arena who has 30 more stars thwn you and starts the level with 4 or 5 spell cards is considered a fair match? This has been happening to me a lot in the last week or two. I am not a fan of PVP to begin with but this seems incredibly unfair.

NSU, don’t click on battle against such opponents. Exit the game and do a hard shutdown, then go back and enter again. You won’t lose the free play, even if it is the second play after watching a video (I always find something else to do while audio is mutated). Pick your battles carefully. I would rather spend a few minutes to get a fair battle than take whatever is offered at first.

In fact, I am doing just that right now, opening and closing the game looking for a fair battle.

I didn’t know that either, NSU, until I found it here on this forum. Glad to have helped. Pick those battles carefully. That is unless you come across Bomb #59701. Then you just let me win. ;)

Capt, I must love pain. I’ve been a PGA Professional for the last 21 years. I love your comparison to golf. I will come back to AB2 when everything gets straightened out. My addiction hit rock bottom with all the 5 spell opponents. I proceeded to back out of matches and then lost my free match. This game is awesome and just needs some major tweaking. There has to be some way to get rid of the cheaters. I’m not much of a tech guy but I would think something could be done. On an unrelated note: I literally hate those Teleporter pigs.(giggle).

The teleporter pigs are right up there with the immortal micropigs, Dwhite. Then again I hate the balloon pigs as well. Oh how many ways can I count how I hate this game, yet I play it and have fun with it. I got nothing on today’s daily challenge. But I am not having the crash problems that you are having, so it doesn’t compare.

On golf, I have no problem matching the score of Tiger Woods … and then I start the back nine and can maybe match it again. Problem is he does it over 18 holes. Well, he did. You know what I mean. ;)

Does ‘hard shutdown’ mean that I just gotta turn my phone off and then turn it back on? Or I gotta reset it?

@trash2002 “Hard shutdown” means that you hard close the app, making sure that it’s not running in the background.

On the iPhone at the home screen, double tap that home button to see what is open. Find AB2 and swipe it up. That closes the app. Don’t know how others devices work as I only recently learned this myself.

You can wait a long time i’m afraid nobody give you a answer here. The leaderboard stopped at 500 (angry birds 2)the leaderboards from the other nicer angry birds games are every time updated but at ab2 not…

The growing frustration with the daily challenge and arena now overshadows the fun of playing AB2. Rovio: in AB3 you should come up with a technology that detects if the user is watching and listening to your ads and if they’re not then the ad pauses until the user obeys. This will make the game even less fun to play.

I find it very frustrating ive been playing religiously ive kept my first place position in the arena since the begining and last night i was supposed to move on from azure to the next level still being in first place for 100 gems this morning no gems rewarded and i restart the azure level ….. what happened where are my gems that i worked hard for?????

@middleone: Oh yes, and they should rise the costs in the arena to 100 diamonds for two extra plays.
Maybe they could create pigs which can teleport, blow up a balloon AND throw tools for the daily challenges.

Also, we need more types of platforms that are truly indestructible. Ice, wood, stone, where’s concrete, steel and bedrock? Introduce it in level 1 where you don’t have Terence yet, and even if you unlock him you find he still bounces off.

Ashley, tournament doesn’t end until Saturday evening. It lasts all week. I am in the Central time zone and it runs from 7PM Saturday to 7PM the following Saturday.

Actually they should just make invisible pigs. And sit them on a balloon platform too far for any of the birds to reach, and to avoid the ME swoop too. Because really, that’s the next step.

When my friends and I used to play arcade games in the 80s, there was almost always this phenomenal undefeatable invincible object that could literally just fly into your game (once the programmers decided you’ve played long enough), and chase your player into a corner and simply wipe it out. It was always some giant ghost, or monster, or blue/white coin thingy that nothing you could do would ever stop it. When the thing appeared, you basically just freaked out until it zeroed in on your player and you gave up.

I almost expect one of these to appear in the newer screens and spot-cost you a life.
