  • well, first time i play dora the explorer, blues clues (i know, it's quite silly) then, i play feeding frenzy and other games (that i forgot), then, play AB in 2010!
  • Oh the old unique Nintendo and Gameboy

Nintendo: Super Mario Bros 3, Ninja Turtles, Double Dragon, Prince of Persia,...

Gameboy: Wario Land, Super Mario Land 2, Jusassic Park, The Flinstones, WWF (Wrestling) etc

I always remember this fantastic Time :-)
  • @TruckDriver: Way cool!! Back then, it was probably built around an A2000.

@crash: My high school computer lab had 15 PET 4032s networked together (and three TRS-80s), a C-64 Educator in the library, and a bunch of Apple IIs in the advanced accounting class. Not bad for 1983-84. :)
  • Omg @birds I luv feeding frenzy dat was my top favorite wen I was little I even played the second feeding frenzy I had 2 defeat an alien anglerfish ahhhhh then I had a nightmare dat night my cousin Vickie showed me dat game feeding frenzy on www.coffeebreak.com wen I was little I also played polar bear bounce and tumblebugs and those casino computer games with pirate slot machine oh dat was fun and I remember Zoombeanies it taught me my pre k math wen I was little
  • I have already written about my first video/computer games, what I haven't mentioned is how ridiculous difficult it was to get computer in my country ex. SFRY. Actually my parents had to provide a approval from Chamber of Trade that they can import computer before they purchased it.
  • Mine was Tetris. I was totally addicted to that one too. I could see those blocks falling as I was trying to get to sleep. . .
  • My first game was a PC space game. You and your ship roamed the galaxy searching for planets to plunder and other ships to conquer. It was very basic, clunky and impossibly slow (what do you expect when all you have is 64K RAM.) My state-of-the-art 8088 computer featured a 5 MB hard drive and a 14" color display. I think there were only 16 colors, or something like that. I also played MS Golf and MS Flight Simulator. There was so much lag in the controls, most of my flights crashed.
Then in the 90's I was enslaved to Duke Nukem 3D. That game rocked! Duke was the only FPS that talked to you! How cool was that! Then I went on to Diablo, Diablo II and I have Diablo III half played on my system now that once I finish with AB, I will get back to.
  • I played an old DOS game called Transylvania on my very first computer, a brand new 286 pc with a monochrome monitor, back in 1986 or so. Still remember how I got stuck on, and nothing like online help to get you out of trouble.
  • I think i remember transylvania.... it was a type in text to do stuff kind of game i think.... and a werewolf? was constantly chasing you.... man! that's old school!
  • @ TomPuss... i played tetris in my head while drifting off too.... funny how those games in my head went real well.... like I always got the piece I needed, lol
  • earliest computer game was Dark Castle on a Mac.
earliest arcade (bar) computer game, Clowns...

  • I'm not the only one who plays AB in my dreams, am I? Maybe this comment really belongs in the AB addicts forum.
  • My frist game was maniac mansion on my Commodore 64
  • I remember playing Zaxxon and Dragon's Lair in the Arcades in the malls.
  • I turned 13 in 1981 & practically lived in arcades & comic book shops. Can't remember my first game but I was crazy about Asteroids & Ms PAC-Man. Several years ago I got the Ms Pac-Man app which is a very good reproduction of the classic arcade game. I played it all the time & drove my wife crazy. She had started playing AB Free and showed it to me one night when we were at a theatre waiting for a movie to start back in Dec 2011 to get me to play something other than Ms. Pac-Man. Boy, does she regret doing that...!
  • @reactive1 Ms. Pac-Man? I remember I have the PS2 version, but I don't remember I played it :P
  • @reactive1 -- Does your wife still play AB? Is she on ABN? Don't need to say who she is, but just curious if she still shares your addiction.
  • @DG47 I remember Super Hang-On as one of the earlier games for the Sega MegaDrive. I think the MD and the Amiga were built using similar technology so ports were quite straight forward.

One of my fave games on the Amiga was Gee Bee Air Rally :D used to be really good at that. I so want to find that as a mobile game, because then it could compete with Angry Birds for my affections!

First PC games I played were Wolfenstein and Doom... and Minesweeper, of course.
  • @mvnla2 No, she doesn't play AB anymore. She only had the free version on her phone & never was on ABN. She plays Candy Crush Saga now.
  • @Birds. I still play my Ms. Pac-Man app occasionally. I am ranked # 1068 out of 116,705 on GameCenter for it.
  • I played Pong at home on the TV when I was about six years old. That would be around 1977. Maybe we had it even earlier. I'm not sure.
  • My first game was Tanks, a simple 2D game I would play against my friends with in elementary school.
  • My First game was Pocket Tanks played on windows XP PC nearly 2004-05 and today I have a Windows 8 pc. And my favorite game is GTA IV.
  • My first was Elite on the BBC B back in the early 80s.
Who'd of thought 30 year ago.......
You tell that to the young people of today.....
    :-)
  • Oh yeah, I remember some of other games that I played. I played little shop-road trip, zuma deluxe, hangaroo, cars (from the movie, Cars) and mahjong quest II.
  • Space Invaders :-)
  • Hammurabi on an early Apple computer, circa 1977. I was a wide-eyed teenager at the time, amazed at a text-based game where you were the mayor of Sumeria, I think, making decisions about crops and such. Claim to fame: went to same high school as Steve Jobs, and had same Electronics teacher/class discussed in his biography. Aloha.
  • Pac Man on Atari. I see there is a very new version of the old game.
  • River Raid on Atari 800XL. It was 1987 or 1988...
  • I was going to college majoring in ICS (computer sciences) when I bought my (Trash) TRS-80 kit from Radio Shack! It was a huge challenge building it and getting it to run properly, programming in BASIC (ugh!). The first game I got to play on it was Pong. This was all in monochrome black/white/gray, as there was no color coding for this model. As boring as it sounds today, back then it was exciting that I could actually get the darned thing to work! LOL. After that, I was hooked!
  • My first game was Insaniquarium and it's one of my favorite computer game
  • OMG I still remember seeing and playing Pong at a Bamberger's at Menlo Park Mall in New Jersey. First "Computer" game would be Star Raiders on the Atari 800 (I had friends that had the Atari 400 so played same game there...)
  • First real game: live pinball, one of those machines on legs with lots of flashing lights. 1951, I was 6 and my parents owned a milkbar. I could barely see over the table and had to stand on something if I wanted to watch where my ball went.

First game played on a computer: Snake (it's still around as a phone game), about 1976, and a team horse-racing game you could bet on, both using the boss's mainframe. They gave us the games so that we'd get over our fear of computers and be more comfortable using the business terminals.

First game on a PC: Tetris on a monochrome XT, around 1984. In the great old DOS days the whole female world was hooked on Tetris.
  • Pong, in a bar on holiday in Jersey. Newly married, so guessing 1983
  • @firebombbird My first game was probably either Zuma or Insaniquarium, but I LOVED insaniquarium. But once I beat the final boss 10 times and it's suppsed to send you to that last level, the game quit working. Well, I stopped playing when I was about 9.
  • @theanonymoussomeone I loved insaniquarium too! I remember I played it on my sister's old laptop but I think the game deleted from it :( . I want to install zuma deluxe on my new laptop right now.
  • Also Plants VS Zombies and Bejeweled were fun.
  • @tas, Insaniquarium is used to my most favorite game until it shows me the level 0-0 !?! (it's a bug) and all my progress has been lost
  • Plants vs zombies and Bejeweled were also my favorite game and I love plants vs zombies the most but I stopped playing it in half year ago because I found Angry Birds
  • Oh well, a long time ago in a galaxy farfar away, it was Minesweeper for me, then Tetris, and Myst some years after.
  • The fist computer game I played was this bike racing game, but unfornately it sometimes disconnected and I haven't played it for a long time.
  • Im not so sure, but I think my first computer game was Spore. Loved it. Still do.
  • My first game ever on PC game was Age of Empires, Amazing game, even better online vs all over the world
  • I can't remembermy first computer game, but I remember playing Space Invaders on an older console. It was fun.
  • The first computers i worked on in the eighties were unix boxes. I played hangman on them.
  • Ehh, Pong. Yes it was a long time ago i was born in the 19 hundreds.
  • I played a really old game once called "King's Quest". You had to type lots of commands like climb, jump ect.
