  • Hey, release those tax returns @kathy!
  • I k ow @DesperateDan Right?!! I'm only about 6 months later :/
  • Gnight my birdie friends ♡♡♡♡
  • To requalify Michigan, how about 'Detroit breakdown, motor city shakedown 'J Geils Band
  • Ok good night now ♡♡♡zzzz'
  • Thinking laterally now. Can we have have I, Me, Mine by The Beatles for Maine (ME)?
  • Well guys I make that 27legit answers not including repeats. Am going to give it a little more thought. Perhaps if we're stuck we can include songs that are about a particular state if not mentioned in title, eg Rocky Mountain high would qualify on that basis.
  • Mississippi girl Faith Hill. (28)
You would've thought that Prince might have mentioned Minneapolis by title. Uptown is about said city.
  • Moonlight in Vermont by aFrank Sinatra
  • I think that's a stretch for Maine @desperatedan ?
  • Kansas -Kansas city by Fats Domino
  • Blackie Kentucky Dolly Parton
  • I think we could run to album titles maybe. Greetings from Asbury Park, New Jersey by Springsteen.
    Or group names. Utah Saints.
    Just putting it out there.
  • Ohh I just had a song about New Jersey! if that's moving up then I'm moving out, I think also springsteen, mentions street names and landmarks
  • I don't know from album title s but yeah.
I think we are doing pretty good considering...
  • @Gumby Waaaaasssuppp??? Come on bro.. help us out here?
  • Did we already get Alabama? Neil Young Sweet home alabama
  • @Sweetp Got any songs about Wyoming¿? Or Hawaii? Or anywhere on the U. S. Map?
  • I'm sure you only read every other post @kathy!
  • Last train to Clarksville. But that's a Tennessee repeat.
  • Ooh, ooh, ooh. Excited. Don't Go Back to Rockville by REM. That's in Maryland.
    https://youtu.be/6fXCjSgItgw
  • Can we sweep up States with Route 66?
  • @DesperateDan I try to read every post! Whether I comprehend or remember every post is questionable? Why what'd I miss??
  • Alabama, as in Sweet Home. Don't worry about it, we are going at a fair lick here. We need a list of the outstanding states really.
  • Sorry @DesperateDan yeah a list of states we haven't got world be good, like Maryland, vermont, are we still not googling¿?
  • If we're going down @desperatedan 's route(not 66 the other two)
Sound-alikies... Arkansaw clearly now. Johnny Nash(groan)
Band names... Hannah Montana(I know she' s fictional but hey ho. Googling permitted.
  • Ohh jeezh @BrianN we are going well out, then down all roads, I think we gave up to soon :/
  • We can still keep an official list of legit titles. Let's see what a bit of googling brings up. But we can have with it as well.
  • Virginia Plain. Roxy Music.
I think you're right @kathy, that one popped into my head without any googling.
  • I have not googled the titles but I have checked where one or two places are.
    I just did Maryland @kathy!
  • Can’t believe I didn’t get Virginia Plain or Panic in Detroit
    Both always playing here
  • An artist: Jackson Brown
Whom I love, but can’t work out whether he wrote such miserable songs because his wife committed suicide, or she killed herself because she listened to them...
  • As far as I know these are the states we don't have titles for:
Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Missouri?, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Utah(surely The Osmonds have something?), Washington, Wesr Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. I'm sure our resident musical memory man will correct any errors.
Just in the act of compiling this list remembered a song I've played here before, My name is Jon Johnson, I come from Wisconson.
  • Did we have Massachusetts? If not, Bee Gees.
What about Texas? Dallas by Steely Dan.
  • Rather appropriately @kathy got Massachussets, we had Galveston also. Any Osmonds fans out there?... Thought not.
  • Don't know artist Delawear (she wore a hula skirt) or something like that
  • I have Wyoming?! George Strait, 'I can still make Cheyenne'
My tablet went on the blink for a few..
  • Ohh yay @Tompuss Maine was a tough one!
  • @TomPuss gave me a idea but won't count.
    King of the road
    Midnight train destination Bangor maine
  • If we allow artists then there is Geno Washington. The Ozark Mountain Daredevils cover Arkansas and Missouri. I said Utah Saints before. Keep these in your back pocket. The genres of Jazz and Blues might help but I am not an expert. People get the blues all over the place.
  • Jason Reeves New Hampshire https://youtu.be/af3077-gVG8
That was from you tube search
  • I don't know about artist named after states, that's really struggling..
  • That said so it's my last post I guess lol..
  • That counts @ixan57 Why not?
  • Is this the way to Amarillo? Where is Amarillo?
    Nice one tompuss.
You can keep Utah Saints in your back pocket:-
    Salt Lake City, Beach Boys.
  • Who would write a song about Connecticut??? Lol, even though I was born there, is pretty boring except for the casinos? How about Kenny Rogers , The Gambler ? Just kidding..
  • Not like we are in a rush right?
