Transferring high scores: PC to iOS and iOS to PC (experiments in progress)

  • @brave1966 that's well done. I am 100% illiterate when it comes about any *.lua files, transffering them from one to an other device or whatever. I read article here and only dissclaimer was discouraging that I never give it try. I don't know why Rovio never have interest in making players possible to sync their scores from different platforms, that is my biggest wish and dream.
I play on iPad which is my main platform, but I also have Samsug Galaxy S2 phone that I can play in move. Mainly I have better scores playing on iPad but I also have couple that I scored better on phone.
  • Good write-up @brave1966. The issues you mention are a primary reason why we do not advise people to transfer between PC and iOS. While the side effects of this direction are a bit minor, the opposite direction is a little more severe.
  • I thought there was a discussion of transfering between android and ios. Is that still in the works?
  • Thanks @AMslimfordy! :)

Your transfer guides for iOS to iOS mention including settings.lua, which I specifically did not do for this experiment for that reason.

There are some interesting possibilities iOS to PC if the highscores.lua retains the iOS feather/medal counts after being updated on the PC side (based on my Space highscores.lua retaining the Pig Dipper scores I did before temporarily downgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.3.1 and later reinstallation). Another experiment for later...
