People have asked me how they get their avatar to appear on the forum and on comments they leave throughout this site.  It's actually pretty easy.  You can either upload an avatar through your profile or use Gravatar ("Globally Recognized Avatar"). Note, this forum actually only uses Gravatar, so until it's fully integrated with the rest of the site you can always do both.

If you opt to use Gravatar just follow these simple steps and your avatar will be showing up in no time.

1. Head over to Gravatar (opens in a new window) and sign-in or create an account.

2. Once logged in click My Account > Add an Email Address and enter the email address you used on this site.  Now Gravatar will send you a confirmation email to make sure this is really your email address.  After you've confirmed it you can move on to step 3.

3. Now click My Account >  Add an Image and upload your avatar.  Once your avatar is uploaded it will allow you to crop it to your liking.  Once done just click "Crop & Finish" to save your shiny new avatar.  Oh, I should also mention that right after you hit Crop & Finish it will ask you to rate your avatar too.  Just select whatever is appropriate.  This allows webmaster to prevent inappropriate images from showing up on their site.  (ABN requires a G rating.)

4. The last step is associating the new avatar with the email address you entered in step two.  Once this is done your avatar should start showing up on this site automatically!

P.S. You can add as many email addresses to Gravatar as you like.  Each email address can use the same avatar or if you want you can have a different avatar for each.  This is pretty cool if you use different email address on different websites.
