Angry Birds Suggestion: Efficiency
  • Obviously, in Angry Birds, destruction of property is paramount to getting high scores and thus three stars on many levels. In fact, Mighty Eagle was added to Angry Birds in order to make basically another game play based upon destruction. I propose yet another twist to be added to the game, thus adding a greater sense of achievement and extending the life and playability of the game. For starters, they have 3 stars (for high scores), the Mighty Eagle (for destruction), but I propose adding a Gold Ring (for efficiency). What I mean by that is basically destroying all the pigs on a given level with the minimalist of scores (i.e. as little extraneous destruction as possible). The game would not be required to save the score, but I would suggest doing so so that others can compare (like high scores) to see how efficient each level can be obtained. You would have a high and a low score for each level. To help facilitate such, I would recommend that extra birds left over once all pigs are killed are not added to the score unless it produces a high score.

    What do you guys think?

  • Definitely an interesting comment. I remember talking about this via the comments a long time ago. When we try and confirm the min 3 star scores we are kind of doing this. In other words, we're trying to finish the level with just enough points to get 3 stars, which is actually quite challenging and takes a lot of trial and error.
