The iPad Mini or iPod Touch (5th gen.) to play Angry Birds. Which one ?.. Page 1

  • Hi! As its the Season to be Jolly and the years are rolling on, I've decided to buy myself a Xmas present now that I've sorted out my wife, son and dog. Yes, I gave my dog a nice big turkey bone, very original!

My question is very simple, what would you buy? Considering I play Angry Birds, slowly but surly I'm going blind, its time to change my devise. Perhaps, you too have found it difficult at times to shoot at a target that's impossible to see.

What would you buy, the new iPad Mini 64GB or the new iPod Touch 64GB (5th gen.) to play Angry Birds on? My question is very simple, perhaps you can help me in my dilemma?

Many thanks in advance and all the Best "shooting" for the New Year!.. thx

  • iPad mini is quite large (seems almost same as SG note 2), so it's easy to control the slingshot, but for the prize, buy iPod touch 5th gen
  • @Birds - Never even thought about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as an alternative. Are there any other "shooters" playing on this devise. Must say, the specs are interesting. Any feedback, maybe its time to throw the "Apple" into the garbage can ?.. thx
  • @marc987 -- Oh, oh, if I recall correctly, you aren't supposed to give dogs poultry bones, because they can splinter them and choke on the splinters. It's off to the butcher for you to ask them for a nice big bone for your dog. They used to give them away free, and maybe will still, especially since it's the season.
  • @marc987 I switched to iPad for similar reasons and could never go back to iPhone. I would go for either the mini 64GB or iPad 2 16GB. It really depends on how much memory you need.
  • @sal9 - Should have said that I already have an iPad 64GB (series 1) that recently came out of the closet thanks to "DiskAid" that allows to transfer the scores from one iOS devise to another. Highest score wins between the iPhone and iPad on the level being played, complicated but adds to the mayhem. The problem is that since day one, I've never been able to "fling" on the iPad as I do on the iPhone. Creature of habit, yes I am!
The more I'm writing, the more I realise I must be crazy!
Perhaps all I need is the local "Angry Bird Rehab Centre" for a rest.. thx

  • @mvnia2 - With my Jack Russell, I do take all of the necessary precautions when giving him a bone but this particular turkey leg bone was large, thick and hard or, at least it appeared that way to me. The idea of the local butcher sharing his bones with me is a good one, I'll check that out. Thanks for your thoughts. "Bark, bark" thanks from Cooky also..
  • Would choose iPad 5. i also have it good Thing :-)
  • @CC Jolly - The iPad5 won't be out for at least another three-four years :-) Just joking, obviously you meant the iPod Touch 5th Generation, have you tried it or the iPad mini yet, what's your device of choose? Thanks for you thought.. thx
  • I also made myself a present for Christmas !!! I bought the latest iPad! (No Mini) And i can say it's only Fun to play!!!
  • ... My Personal recommendation/opinion. Before you buy the iPad Mini i Prüfer to buy normal iPad !!!
  • I would recommend the iPad Mini, because size is a good thing :)
  • FLASH!! FLASH!! Angry Birds "shooter" buys iPod Touch...
Read all about it here first...
Yes that's right, in the end I went for the iPod Touch (5th gen.) Time will tell if I play better or not on my new number-one device of swine slaughter. Many thanks for your answers and have a very happy New Year.. thx
  • Also happy New Year Marc!!

So have Fun playing on your New device. I can also just say its Fun playing on iPad !!!
  • @marc987 sorry I missed your thread. I went for the iPod Touch too in my recent device replacement conundrum. I weighed up the iPod and the iPad and decided that I'd go for the "quickly-grab-it-from-my-pocket" option. I like the portability of this device more than the iPad, and it was priced well too :) Hope your purchase works out!
  • I have to say that I splurged and now have both the mini and new ipod. For angry birds, I definitely prefer the mini, and have pretty much given up using my ipad2. Perfect balance between screen size and weight. I could never see the layouts well enough in the ipod to make it work well.
