How many updates are too many?
  • We are expecting BP update with 45 new levels, ABS with 30 new levels and looking foward November 8 for brand new game ABSW. I believe that most of you wouldn't agree but in my opinion new game and 75 new levels in two-three weeks are too many. I work 40 hours a week, spend 2 hours in transit daily, have two daughters and certainly not all day for playing. Besides all that I started playing AB, ABR, ABS and ABSp this year and probably have over 500 levels to improve my scores and it seems that I will never achieve my goals if we got new update every few weeks,
Although I believe that ou all like gettin new updates even more often than it is now, I wonder if anyone think there are too many updates lately?

  • well i'm battling school, so i don't have much time to fling, and i'm currently 3*ing ABO HeH, then S, then Sp then to SW, and all the way back to RIO, then back to BP, so i'm going to be fling for a LONG time, and if the updates keep going like they are, i'll never finish 3*ing AB's, so i hope ROVIO slows down for a bit
  • I think your in the minority here. Although I don't play to improve my scores. The highscores are just too high. I did it for Danger Zone to get the badge and realized that I spent too much time on trying to improve my score.
  • That's what late nights and Red Bull are made for.
  • @heathen Well said! That's the graduate student handbook to a T.
  • I started out just trying to pass all levels, then pass with 3* and feathers when they became available. Now I'm trying get above average on all new episodes; still way below on many of the older ones. Don't mind the new update frequency, but may not be able to go for above average on all if this continues.
  • For me personally 1 Update with 30 Levels is ok. I can only play intensive at weekend. So in 30 Levels 3staring and hunting feathers and toping own score is work enough. More Updates at once is toooo much !!! :-)
  • @heathen
    Cool opinion right :-)
  • Hahaaa I just make a nice pot of coffee sit at my fav booth in BP and fling until my eyes stay closed for the night, then I look forward to doing it again when I wake up and finish work for the day! I say bring em on baby! This way I'll never finish AB! Hahaaha now that's what I call an addiction! ;D
  • I have no problem with all the updates. Since my goal on every level is to first get 3 stars, followed by getting above average, followed by cracking the top 100 on very episode (a lofty goal I know but I can dream) I am confident that I will never be bored in the foreseeable future. It's not a race to me, so I can take all the time I want.
Plus it reinforces the fact that AB games are one of the best deals around - I paid once & I'm still getting new gameplay years later.
  • The only problem I have with so many updates is that quality (and control thereof) is going down: The Bad Piggies PC activation, display and wireless connection issues, the display glitches with ABO on iPod touch 4th Gen, and the Mooncake, GE and "PC ghost sling" issues for ABS.

The software testers should be finding and nixing these problems before sending them out to the world. Likewise, Rovio's Quality Assurance people (listed in the about scrolls) need to pay better attention to the details.
  • I was relieved earlier this morning, Thurs, when there was no update. That was before the Bad Piggies update landed. Oh well, still no competitive aspect, and they haven't fixed the IOS 4 GC bug. Guess I will work through this one slowly.
  • Figured out Rovio's motivation in releasing so many updates: if everyone is occupied playing angry birds, bad piggies, amazing alex, there will be no time for war. Now if they only could figure out how to get the terrorists interested in playing. Maybe send them phones with apps preinstalled? Better yet, make sure the phone locations are tracked by CIA, etc.
  • @mvnla2 : Interesting theory! I'd send cases of them to other world hot spots, too.
  • I only play the pc versions of the AB games and updates are released far apart in my opinion. I'm still waiting on the update to finish the red planet in ABSpace. So far, the only update in october has been for angry birds seasons (new halloween episode). I love when we get new updates but I think rovio is going overboard making a ABstarwars. I'm still going to buy this game anyway though since I ABSOLULEY LOVE ANGRY BIRDS!!! They should concentrate on the updates for the existing games first before releasing so many new games. In my opinion, ABSpace seems overdue for an update.
