  • @AMSlimfordy you are right, it only happens when there are 5 or more recipients and thanks, that clickable solution would great :D
  • Thanks, @amslimfordy and @estar, I will probably upgrade to a newer browser in a couple of months:)
  • @AngerManagement, if you are using IE8 in Win xp will have something not working well here. Read my post
    http://www.angrybirdsnest.com/forum/discussion/1857/compatible-browser-on-this-site
  • Is there a way to know if a questionable score has been previously flagged and verified? I recently flagged a score, then noticed a subscript "1" next to the flag. What does the 1 signify? I don't want to bother you with scores that have already been checked out. Thanks :)
  • @BPC I've been thinking about the same thing. I saw somewhere a score and I think there was 2 instead one, but I wasn't sure what that means...
  • @BPC @Lisko

    (1) Thanks for the bug report. There should be no scripts visible to the common user.

    (2) We do NOT want the community to know which scores have been flagged. We don't believe this is valuable information. (We have a few vandals out here and sometimes flagging is just silly). However, we do have the idea of adding a "verified" status somehow. This system is nowhere near implementation, but we think it'd be nice.
  • Thanks Slim, I agree with not showing the "flagged" status, but a verified status would be very helpful.
  • @Slim -- Maybe just turning the flag grey when score has been verified? But then it would have to turn back when user entered a new score. Don't need to answer this one.
  • @AMslimfordy - No problem, I had already forgot the whole thing until @BPC mentioned it.

@admins - I was wondering, is there a certain admin who takes care of spammers etc.? I've got a question, but I wouldn't want to mention any names public in the forum, 'cause I'm not 100% sure about one person.
  • @Lisko you can send me a private message. Even if I won't necessarily deal with it, I can forward it to a higher-up.
  • @AMslimfordy, I was wondering if perhaps Top Scores that have been achieved and maintained by the same player for longer than 90 Days could receive Bonus points, say about 25-50 points, and this Bonus would only be awarded once per level, so if a player loses the top spot on a particular level after 91 days, he or she would no longer be eligible to receive bonus points for achieving the Top Score more than once on a particular level.

Of course, this plan would NOT be retroactive prior to inception, it would begin on the day it is implemented. In other words those that already have Top Scores would have to wait the 90 days before receiving the Bonus.
  • @Werewolf69 At this time, there is no correlation between the ranking system and the leaderboard. In the event that we link the two, we will keep the suggestion in mind.
  • I have noticed that with other people aswell, such as AngryBoy? I would imagine these sorts of problems will be sorted out when the forum is integrated into the main site!
  • @Pjing @angerM same with me, I click 'my main profile' and it goes to some random user
  • @angryboy - I just tried on clicking your main profile and there wasn't any problems o.O But with @Aman it tells that Rio is the address...weird o.O
  • did you go to it through the forum?
  • @angryboy - Yep, clicked your nick and then the "Main profile" from the right side of the screen :)

Edit: Tried it again with the same result, it takes me to your profile!
  • hrm, didn't work for me
  • @PJng @AngerManagement @AngryBoy @Lisko

With forum migration high on our to-do list, I don't think we will try to fix this. Rather, we will keep it in mind as part of our migration, since it could cause issues there.
  • Seems like a good idea to me, @amslimfordy, when the forum is integrated into the main site, the problem will automatically sort itself out, wont it?
  • Yes and no. That issue would no longer occur but there's another issue I foresee. I can't go into details at this time though.
  • Is there any way to see what levels are available for a certain device? I mean like a page that would have all the devices separated so you could see what device has the most levels and which devices are coming far after? I'm not saying that there should be one, but it would be interesting to see, 'cause android and iOS has got all the "like us in facebook" -levels and so on. Would be nice to get a chance to compare how much levels there is as in total.
  • @lisko, I believe that iOS has the most levels, followed by Android and Nook and at the bottom of the pile lies PC & Mac.
  • If we only look at the full games (ABo/S/R/Sp/SW), ANDROID actually has more levels than iOS (4 Intel levels from ABS>WW, 1 more Eggsteroid in ABSp).

PC is 12? levels behind iOS (3 each in ABS>HaK, GGGL, EE, MF).
  • A cool thing could be to show a "top x %" value next to your game and epsiode ranks. If your rank is 200/1000 it could show that you're in the top 20%, in another game 250/2500 but here you're top 10% etc. It may be a nice way to compare your performance adjusted for player pool and it might encourage competition.
  • I have thought about that too @TenJoker, but thought perhaps there wouldn't be room. Still, I like the idea.
  • It's a good idea but already sort of exists by simple division.
  • Sure but it might be fun to be able to see them all quickly, then try and get everything in the top 25 % or whatever you're aiming for. Also if a certain percentage ends up really sticking out then it may compel the player to improve that set of levels. Sort of like having one two-star level when you've three-starred the rest of the episode haha
  • @AMslimfordy, no offence taken. I fully understand the points you have made - I hadn't thought of it in that context.

I also appreciate you wanted to talk it over - I must admit I was just expecting you to say no :).

Anyway, thank you for considering it.
  • maybe a section of the forum to other topics such as nintendo or playstation games or to forum games such as "the one above" or "ask a stupid question get a stupid answer".
coming from a forum junkie that has accounts on 6 totally different forums.
  • @pokemonmaster We aren't a general gaming forum. We are specialized to Angry Birds and other Rovio apps.
  • i know that. i just want an off topic section.
  • Is there anyway to include the date a score was obtained on the leaderboard, maybe when you scan over the score? Would help with deciding whether or not to flag it as possibly a PU score.
  • It's visible in the database but it may drastically slow down loading times.
  • Would it slow down the loading time if it only showed up when you scanned the score, or maybe hit the flag?
  • @amslimfordy is there any chance we can organize the forum to make it easier to find subjects in discussion? I've been looking for the members map and can't locate it. I remember reading something @mvnla2 posted in the BP about it being moved but I don't remember where that is. I'll contact @mvnla2 and ask her for directions. But it would be nice if the forums were in folders labeled "games" "website" "social hubs" "misc" etc. if that's not possible, then something like the BP with over 75k comments should be at the top of the list for members ease. I tried the search box but it didn't turn up the members map either. Thanx
  • Found the map! It's under community not forum...my bad. I would still like the idea of forums in folders to be taken under consideration.
  • Should explain: I do have the members map on my personal groups page but I wasn't able to access my "profile"pages (aka personal pages). This probably isn't the place, but am I the only one who gets a Rio/on vacation page each time I try to access my personal pages? I always have to open it twice. Sometimes, like tonight, it wouldn't open at all.
  • @birdaddcit, unfortunately it is a known problem that alot of people get an error (Rio vacation page) when they try to go to their profiles. And with the sorting of forums through their category, I fully agree, but I don't see any bonus in implementing it now, as the admins will be integrating the forums into the main site in the up and coming months, so maybe they could sort out each forums into a category, with ones that have the most comments at the top of each page then??? @amslimfordy, @birdleader, ideas?
Oh, and for the BP, Seniors forums etc. have you bookmarked them, as they will then appear to the right of the page anywhere in the forums (except for your forum profile) and you can have easy and quick access to your favourite forums???
  • @mvnla2 My understanding is that all information would need to be loaded on the initial page, not after the fact. I can ask for more info though.

@birdaddict We are planning on migrating to a new forum soon, which will be integrated with the main site. The current forum is very separate and doesn't have great functionality. When we (mostly BL and I) are testing the new forum, I will try to keep some of these suggestions in mind.
  • @AMslimfordy - Sorry for silly request. I saw everywhere on the site and I could not saw a place to see who is actually online. Yes, I know that Community>all members tab help us to see who is active time ago, but Can we have an offline-online symbol over every member's name, on their main profile or where they comments over their names. The symbols will like dots i.e. red for offline and green for online. I saw this method in some forums and in a popular torrent website (kat.ph) . If it cannot be possible, then please ignore it.
  • How about to put toons videos?
  • @Aman I'm not aware of such a system

@BadPigX3 We don't have access to them. We have clips.
  • @AMslimfordy, Could it be possible to have the total scores for the leaderboards not reflect the levels that aren't available to everyone. Say the facebook/twitter levels in seasons would not count towards the total until everyone has the levels. PC currently doesn't have those levels. Same for when there is an update. Like the final 15 levels on ABO Bad Piggies since that isn't available for PC. I will get myself to a certain position on the leaderboard and it is frustrating when you get knocked way down the list and have no way to get back up. Kind of a competitive thing. Thanks for all your work.
  • I don't believe that sort of logic exists in the leaderboards as they function now. Also, if we were to do such a thing, the number of levels we are talking about is quite small: 13-16 levels in Seasons and that's all. (We wouldn't do it simply for updates that haven't been released on all platforms yet.)
