  • @Sunshine: eggs?????? not the birdies?! Did White Vail leave them alone again and they ended up on the menu?
  • @Sunshine: busted me!! I wasn't able to check in yesterday, so the menu looked new to me :s
  • @angryboy Some great words from my golf pro: Negative thoughts always produce negative outcomes (If you tell yourself "Don't hit the ball in the water," that's exactly where it will go); positive thoughts produce positive outcomes.
  • @all: yeahhh, time to go home! I am going to visit my parents and see you all after (if life doesn't throw me curveball). Enjoy and happy flinging!
  • @aa @mvnla @wrw @sunshine- y'all were right went from 100,400 to 111,230
  • thank you all
  • @angryboy New view to consider to adopt in your mental thoughts "Keep trying, you will not be defeated"
  • @angryboy, congrats!!!!! :D
  • @e-star Good evening to you and have a nice visit.
  • congratulations, @angryboy! I knew you could do it :). I have a little book of quotes I have saved and here's one for you-"Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't, you're right." Henry Ford
    Always think good things!!
  • thanks, wow @wrw01 your very philosophical
  • thanks for that @wanda
  • @e-star sorry I missed you. Hope you have a great day and hopefully I'll catch you here later:).
  • @angryboy Thank you for the kind comment. It was part of my background a few years back but now we are here to kill pigs, improve our scores and most importantly, have fun and enjoy ourselves while doing it.
  • You're welcome @angryboy.
  • that's beautiful @wrw01, when will the update pg 1?
  • @angryboy Thanks! I think @rd is working on updating page 1. He did mention in a prior post he is having some technical difficulties.
  • On a sad note, I just saw that Ray Bradbury passed away. I remember reading "Something Wicked This Way Comes" in junior high and being terrified! I still get chills thinking of it.
  • never heard of it @wanda
  • Wow, @wanda, I remember reading that as well, I was thinking about that story a few weeks ago, as a matter of fact!!
  • Oh dear, @angryboy if you have a chance, please read his books! Fahrenheit 451 is one that all of my boys have read over and over.
  • I loved the book, I had been think of reading it agian to see if I felt the same, profound book.
  • I grew up in a small town and the county fair was the big summer event. That story made me nervous for a few years, @sunshine.
  • what's it about?
  • I think I am going to go look on my bookshelf. I think the paperback is down there. If not, the library is right up the street :). I will put that on my summer reading list. Well, I have to go for now. If I keep reading news, I may find more sad things :(.
  • Now I have to read it again. Going to my iPad to find it!! :)
  • @angryboy Something Wicked This Way Comes is set in a small town carnival and it deals with the nature of good and evil. The main characters are two teen age boys. I hope you take some time to read it. It's about 300 pages or so, but it is worth the time :).
  • I remember it being a book about growing up and life.
  • @angryboy, I think we just came up with your summer reading assignment!!! :)
  • umm.......pass
  • @pigflinger1234 -- What country are you in? Read FAQs about nicknames or send e-mail to Slim.
@Carl -- How can you fail math??? Post comment in math / physics tutorial about what kind of problems you are having trouble with. We can help. I'm not a teacher, and I don't have a good feeling for what level of difficulty is appropriate. I think I made problem 7 too difficult?
  • they all look hard @mvnla
  • Hello all...I'm popping in for lunch time ;-)
@angry boy...good job...we all knew you could do it ;-)
@wanda and at @sunshine...sounds like a good book. I have never read it but It sounds like a good book for all the teens here to enjoy for summer reading.
  • I'm not a reader
  • @AA, iced coffee! Yes, I think it is! We had to read it in school.
  • @angryboy, I wasn't back than either, but that book really grabbed me. It's a fantasy science fiction book.
  • @mvnla are those math questions from algebra
  • everyone I know said that they weren't readers at my age and now they love books
  • @angryboy, this would be a good place to start! It is also a movie. :)
  • how come every movie becomes a book
  • @sunshine, yes..Iced Coffee would be great! Thank You...I am not a reader either...as a matter of fact back in school I hated reading so when it came to doing book reports, I found it easier to just make up my own story and write about it..lol..I know that sounds bad but I got A's...I was even offered a Susan B Anthony scholarship for writing my Senior year!
  • @angryboy Just the reverse, books become movies.
  • that makes no sence, the avengers and up weren't a book
  • they turn them into movies because the books don't do well
  • @Aa, coffee! Just so you know, I use AA here because it's faster and you don't get notifications from the forum using @lesleyg, it comes from it being bookmarked by having it started.
    @wrw01, coffee?
  • I was one of those kids who lived in the library. @AA I hated writing stories! I didn't mind research papers, but poems and stories???? I think it's great to be able to write, but I know that I am not a writer. If you ever write a book, I'll buy 5 copies :).

@angryboy not every book becomes a movie, and many that do are made into mediocre movies. If a movie will interest you in reading a book, then great! Just don't think that movies do justice to books, because it is not the case most times. Reading and math are the two most important subjects, in my opinion. If you can read, you can learn just about anything you need to learn, including math. Keep your brain in condition; there is more to life than electronic gadgets, as great as they are :). This concludes my lecture for today :). Have a great summer!
  • @angryboy Not every movie is from a book but some are. All movies come from writers whether they write a book, TV script, short story, a stage play, cartoon story line, etc. Movies are planned activities that require a script review to be approved before money is provided to make them.
  • @sunshine iced coffee please
