  • 39-6 MI are gods!!!
  • @hunnybunny, @lamia is from Bangladesh, how did Mumbai Indians do???
  • @firebombbird and @angermanagement It wasn't a white rabbit, it was brown with a few white spots. When the car headlights reflected off its eyes, they turned red for a few seconds, then back to normal color. It was dark out also, adding to the freaked-out-ness.
  • Oh, I get what you mean, @theanonymoussomeone, I always wondered why people's eyes become red on camera???
  • @lamia -- I'm on IOS, so I can only imagine your pain. Do you do the daily challenges? Are you above average on every level? I know you're a pretty good flinger, so maybe you are. In which case, maybe you should try for top 50 or top 10 in an episode. The great thing about AB is that you can always improve your score.
  • @Am & @tas Normally , when you look at someone, some of the light passing through his or her eyes bounces around inside the eyes and reflects back to you. However, the amount of this light is so small that the pupils just look black. A camera flash, however, sends a tremendous amount of light into the eye in a very short time. If the camera lens is close enough, some of this light ricochets back off the retina and into the lens. And because the back of the retina is filled with blood vessels, the pupils look red.
  • Wow, that's a good tidbit of information I always wanted to know, thanks @mumsie, I can now outsmart my friends at school with it:]
  • Good night ladies and gentlemen :D (P.S...before you flip, @mvnla2, it is the half-term holiday in England, so no school for a week;D)
  • @AngerManagement -- Half-term in May! When do you get summer vacation, and for how long? How long is your half-term break?
  • @AngerManagement -- P.S. I might flip out anyway. Wasn't it nearly 4 am where you are when you posted? You really need to go to sleep at approximately the same time each night +/- 2 hrs, and teens are know to need lots of sleep; so 8 hrs probably isn't enough.
  • Lol never expected such a tidbit of light reflection from Mumsie :) ty i always wondered that also
And never expected mvnla2 to say she might flip out.normally calm cool collected but @angermanagement she is correct..holiday or not a regular sleep schedule is required for healthy mind and learning capability 8 hours at most..and a regular schedule with or within an hour..
Just popping in to see all is well:)
    OB I'll have Sunupper please:)
  • @kathy @angerManagement -- It's 8 hrs as a minimum for a teen! Usually they don't have trouble sleeping more than 8. Or maybe it's just that they sleep so little during the school week that they have to make up on weekends.
  • Yep that's what i meant @mvnla2 i said it wrong..but a steady schedule its a definite i think even for adults i tend to sleep late on weekends then on Monday i have a tough time waking.
A regular schedule is good for all..at least teens have parents to ensure it..we have to fight with inner selves lol..
  • Woo hoo i just got top score in tatoonie 36 !!! Drinks on me !! I didn't even see it coming been practicing and then it just happened!!! :) :)

  • Yep @fbb well almost I'm actually North of LA in Monterey but yep same time as LA ;)
  • Good morning, good night or whatever it is there :)

We had a lot of fun yesterday. Mu hubby's cousin came for a visit with his daughter, she's only 3 months older than our Monster so they are getting along just great :D

I decided to turn one flowerbed upside down, 'cause there's some dead roses which I want away and then I got a brilliant idea to dig everything up. I went to get some soil and some fabric that should prevent all the weed growing up in the flower bed. I just didn't think at all how much work there is, 'cause the flower bed is over 10 square meters wide xD And of course my hubby won't help me with the digging, 'cause he would like to get more asphalt on our yard so that there would be more room for his CARS! Gosh, we already have SIX CARS! xD
  • Hello everyone :)
  • Six cars!?!? WOW that's a lot. Speaking of gardening, I have the opposite situation. We have a bunch of plants and no soil.
I just watched Hotel Transylvania. I liked it, but I don't see how the very end could be more idiotface stupid. I also realized that Jonathan or whatever his name is looks JUST like me, except redder hair. Now I realize that if redder is a word it's also a palindrome.
If I thought that bunny from the other night was weird, my shower tonight was weirder. I closed my shampoo bottle and against all odds, a tiny droplet too small to see apparently ricocheted into my eye. It stung like heck despite its size.
  • Hi @harrystar6 how are things going for you...... mate? €;
  • Hey @tas things are going pretty good, how are things going for you? :)
  • @tas - Hahaha, yeah, that's what I've been telling him, but nope...

Suzuki Alto 1984, but it's only been driven for 15 000km
    Datsun 120A coupe 1973
    Datsun 120Y sedan 1974
    Datsun 120Y coupe 1978
    Datsun Cherry 1980
    BMW 525 Caravan 1995
    Nissan Micra 1998

Damn, actually we've got eight cars, 'cause my hubby just bought his sister's Micra. He's going to rip off all the usable parts for My Micra. Sssooo before he gets it away from our yard, we've got eight cars xD
  • Hi there @Harrystar6 - How's it going? :D
  • @lisko I am pretty good just entering some season scores into the leaderboards :)
  • @lisko how are you? :)
  • @Harry - Pretty fine. Trying to dig up the flowerbed which I started yesterday. I already went out to continue the project, but it started raining so I didn't want to dig up wet soil (it weights pretty much) so came back inside. Though it's nice that it rains so I don't have to give water to the plants which have already been dug out :D
  • @lisko that's good :)
  • Good morning all!! Its my holiday of no reason why I'm awake right now ..:( darn
    Well happy flinging !! ;)
  • @Lisko husbands and their cars!
I have a very nice little car, bought new, my dream, six years old now, and I'm determined to get my money's worth out of it, cost a fortune despite its diminutive size.
He Who Does Not Fling, on the other hand, changes his every two years. There's always an excuse, too big, too small, want a diesel to save money, would rather have a petrol for better performance, I think I preferred the bigger one after all, etc, etc.....
Mind you he's been the same for the last thirty years, so I don't expect him to change now.
Look forward to your yard being full of cars thirty years done the line!
  • Oh...@mvnla2, my holiday is 1 week long. I go to sleep at about midnight on school days, and in between 1-3AM on holidays and about 1AM on weekends! The time tag for my last comment is 1:52 (not 4:00AM, lol). I know I should go to bed a bit earlier on school days, but I don't get sleep loss or anything, 7 and 1/2 hours a night and I wake up without bagged eyes. Also, as you can probably tell by the time tag on this comment, I was sleeping for 12 hours last night;]
  • Anyway...Good...erm...Afternoon everyone (probably morning for most people)!
My dad works in a car dealership, so we don't need to buy cars, but we get a new one every time his car is sold, so it's funny because we go a couple of days having random cars until we get the proper one! Last week his Meriva was sold, so we had a yellow Corsa (Vauxhall), a cyan Spark (Chevrolet, or Chevy for the Americans) until we finally got a brown Mokka (never had a brown car, or a 4-by-4 type car before;)
  • Morning, @junkenmetel, I have mother, father and auntie (lol) Zebra Finches that recently mated and we got a Daughter and Son Finch to add to the family, the Son is especially weird, as he has the exact same ginger streaks across his body as his father, and he is grey coloured just like his mother, he is just an exact match of them both;)
  • Hi, @AngerManagement! Zebra Finches are such charming birds -- they always seem so happy and sociable to me. I love the sounds they make. We have friends who had zebra finches for many years. Do yours stay in their habitat or do you let them out to flit about sometimes? How long do zebra finches live?

At the local hardware store where I shop, they have quite a few birds of different species spread throughout the store. They have a bunch of zebra finches, who always seem to be very busy saying whatever it is they have to say. :-) I can't really tell, though, if they're very interactive with people.

One of the birds at the store -- my favorite -- is an Amazon Quaker Parakeet named Bolt. His previous owner apparently abandoned him in the parking lot a couple of years ago, apparently knowing that they keep birds, and intending for him to be "rescued." Which fortunately, he was.

Bolt has a very strong personality, and is extremely smart; he can be quite mischievous, and even clearly knows when he's misbehaving. At first, he was quite aggressive. He has one of those giant rolling tall cages with a platform/play area on top. Since his arrival, Bolt has been allowed quite a bit of freedom to go in an out of his cage, although there are prominent signs posted all around his cage warning to keep fingers away, because he will bite. But he's also very sociable and inquisitive, so he has quite a "fan club" of those of us who have spent a lot of time -- and acquired some scars along the way -- visiting him frequently and gradually getting him to accept more contact and learn to behave more gently.

He definitely recognizes individuals, and sometimes he makes a very distinctive squawk if I'm in the store and he can hear my voice. It basically means: Get over here right now and play with me! He's kind of my boyfriend -- I'm one of the few people he gives kisses to (he's very, very gentle). He'll "step up" onto my arm if I'm wearing something he feels comfortable standing on (he doesn't like bare skin or certain types of jackets). He likes to groom my hair, and generally will make a soft sort of chuckling noise when I'm close and speaking softly to him. He always puffs up and spreads his wings to show me how beautiful he is.

I was never much interested in birds as pets before I met Bolt, but as soon as I saw him, it was love at first sight (on my side, anyway). I've learned lots about interpreting the subtleties of bird "language" through their gestures and body positions and behavior by observing Bolt and the other birds, but I'm still very much a novice.

We've had house rabbits for over 20 years now, and it's the same thing -- the body language signals are very subtle, and it takes a long time to learn how to "read" them. We're all so much more familiar with cats and dogs, who are much more domesticated and have evolved to broadcast their signals to us as humans and interact with us. Other animals like small mammals and birds are much closer to their wild state, and we have to work harder to understand them and earn their trust and bond with them. I find that fascinating and very appealing.

Oh dear, @AngerManagement -- what a floodgate you opened! :D
  • @junkenmetel, I like birds, but my sister and mother usually take care of them, we keep them in a 1mx1m cage, and they love it, we usually let them have a play around the house every now and again, but not on a regular basis, because they are really hard to catch again. In our old house, about 2 years ago, we kept some other Finches. Whenever we let them out, they went straight to the top of the curtains, where there are a few bulges where they can sit on comfortably. One day, when we let them out, they mated on the curtain, and there was a few eggs sitting on top of there, every now and again, one would fall off and break:( We have had lots of pairs that have mated, but these two are the first that have actually have hatched eggs. I think Zebra Finches live for an average of 2 years (from personal experience rather than research) but I think there maximum age limit, excluding anomalies, is about 3 1/2 years:] I prefer mammals, and my favourite is most certainly Hamsters, I feel pretty much the same as you do with Bolt about any Hamsters I have ever had, I can not resist their little smiles and the way they sit on two legs and hold their hands out like a Tyrannosaurus Rex:D My sister is a fish fanatic, and she has bred thousands of fish, mainly Convict Cichlids;]
