Birdday Party (Birthday Party) level 18-8 is very difficult. Our strategy is to loft the Boomerang bird so that it hits the TNT in the middle of the level directly. Next, loft the Yellow bird is a similar manner, using the speed boost to push the boulders on the far-left into the gap, which was already damaged enough so that all pigs are popped except for those on the right. A well-placed bomb from the White bird just left of the right-most structure will pop the remaining pigs. The score in the video below is 89,790.

Agree. Hardest level ever in my opinion. Must have taken about 50-60 goes to pass this level, and when I did it was 3 stars straight off.

One bird strategy: shoot Green bird “Boomy” nearly straight up, probably 80-degrees, and have it impact just left of TNT. This should detonate, sending boulder to right, over cliff to take out two pigs below. The explosion breaks wood and drops another boulder down to smash remaining piggies. Happy Birthday! Aloha.
I found this out by accident. I was able to replicate it once after many…many tries.

This is also the way I finally beat this level. Although I think I sent the first bird more to the right, then activated him just about height of hanging cliff.
This gave me impressive 108.580 points.

@Kimmiecv i.finally made above average..at least…i reversed boomer and took out the balloons and one cake..then yb as described for using boomer for the one birder..if that makes sense..i would still like more pointe woo gonna try a little mores:)

Yep @Kathy I hit the right side, if you pull the boomer down where that upper niche on the platform is on the left you get the right angle, then it’s a matter of turning him at the right time and having everything fall right.

I mean ‘activating’ him @Kathy so he turns towards the TNT, breaking the wood holding the two boulders on the right and hopefully sending the two on the left down the “chute”.

hey @surfcow were you certain about using the BB to the Left of the top left TNT? coming in from a slight right approach gives me closer to a better angle. what I think happens is when you come from the right, the plank over the two left boulders stays intact, and thus can pull them down into the pit while the two middle boulders split to the sides. Just wondering.
Good point, @swelld. Left or right, right or left? …. Definite advantages for both. I’m guessing you spanked my below–average score by more than 10,000 points by using your approach. If so, then I wouldn’t bother trying the left approach because it’s clearly not the right one. This level was no piece of cake, I might add. Aloha.

@surfcow, I noticed that many of the comments on this strategy were posted right after Christmas, so it probably was a sugar high :). A couple high scorers posted in May- maybe leftovers chocolate bunnies and jelly beans? I think I will try this one after some M & Ms ;).
Well, I did finally get above average, thanks to @surfcow:). It was either the chocolate or the L factor, maybe both! The green bird (my least favorite) came down on top of Tnt and it went just as described above.
@surfcow — I totally agree with your comment about the person who first posted this strat! How much sugar do you need to consume to get it to work? I don’t think I’ve even matched my previous score, which was barely 3*.
@AA — It wasn’t that long ago that I thought 3* and feathers was the ultimate accomplishment. This madness is all the fault of the nest.

@surfcow i hate this level. I finally came in here, checking strategies and the THOUGHT of a one birder fills me with the urge to break into maniacle laughter and start ripping chunks of my hair out. I love your post, angry at yourself. Funny! I’m still wondering if I have to activate boomer or just let him fall. I watched the video so closely, looking for that “finger touch” during his descent and just did not see one. Sigh. This level is evil.
@surfcow Thanks for posting the strategy. I got it with one bird. I cannot believe my eyes. After 5 days. You pointed in the right direction and it worked.
I used the right top corner of the tnt with the Boomerang Bird. Zoom in and lined up the bottom center of the launch basket with the peak in the rock below. Just kept slaming into the top right corner of the tnt over and over again. And then it worked. Rocky’s theme play, I danced on the porch steps with my arms in the air and yelled. Just got to love these AB games.
Ooh I wish at this point I could say 5 days!! It’s been weeks and now I have to get above avg! Gah I guess I need to get a sugar high too :(( ah well I will continue to fling, with so many posts on this strat I know it’s gotta work!! I think I wish I had paid attention to Maths too Kathy :/

You like me will have to keep flinging at this level everyone else seems to have been able to use your strategy to get above 100k and push the average above 96 k.
Whinge gods hear my plea I have revisited this level for the last 4 days and have not been able to get above 96k. Please let me get above average.
Another 50 flings and I got a lucky 2 bird combo for 96650.
Have tried another 50 since and still no luck on the single bird or the greater than 100k score.
Thanks whinge gods I’m now above average though please give me a greater than 100k score so that I don’t have to come back in the near future to be above average again.
Came here to get help and managed to do it! 95430 with 3 birds – first over the top of the boulder on the right and make it turn to hit the far right structure at the bottom. Second bird hit just right of the TNT and the third drop egg on remaining pig.
This was the approach I used to get 92k. One bird approach looks interesting, but difficult to acheive
Angry birds isn’t fun anymore. It’s too hard and frustrating with too many precision shots with the wrong bird. Rovio needs to go back to basics.
You’re entitled to your opinion. I thought the past few updates were a bit too easy, so I greatly enjoyed a few challenging levels.
ABO is way harder than Rio or Seasons. The latter two are gimmicky and flashy (but still fun and challenging in their own way!). I felt this update was going to back to basics for Rovio. I’m so grateful that I’ve only spent, what like, $10 for literally THOUSANDS of hours of entertainment. Can’t beat that.
You know phantom, sometimes I feel that way too. I find if I take a break, and a deep breath, try another level for a few, you come back and it seems a little easier. Ask for help look at videos and look at leaderboards, sure you will find someone struggling more than you:) hang in there. gl

There’s a reasonably repeatable 2-bird strategy. First bird around to the right and make it turn early so that it bounces on the lower floating rock and then hits the wooden tower on the right side. Takes out the two pigs to the right.
Second bird high and down on the TNT to take out the rest.

the one bird on this level is giving me headaches tried over 1000 times and had the left part completely collapse 20 times, the right 50 times but never together, when this one bird is achieved I never wanna open this level again not even by accident

I got 97,250 with 2 birds, pretty much as f9-jaw described (and lots of luck). I am really proud of myself since I am a 72 year old Nana who loves A.B.s. I lost everything in Seasons with an upgrade but have rallied and have all all the stars and feathers on Seasons, Rio, and regular A.B.s
I have to finish this episode and the Christmas one and I will be done with A.B.s until something new comes. Trying to finish by Christmas so I can visit with family and grandkids.

I was trying to do it with 1 bird and it was taking forever but I eventually got it with 2 birds and got 105210. Basically what I was doing was try the 1 bird strategy but if the left side didn’t completely fall down then use the yellow bird to hit eh wood tower next to the 2 big rocks still up top. That way if the 1 bird shot wasn’t perfect but was still pretty good u can still get a good score with 2 birds and I’m done with this level now lol ewww takes forever for 1 bird

I just took out ALL the pigs w the FIRST bird!I arced it exactly like in the walkthru to land on the tnt & it hit w such force it created a cascade taking out all the pigs.This is a frustrating level though.It took several tries.Highscore:105640
I think the temptation is to restart this level if you don’t get a one bird clearance but there’s a valid two bird strategy which will get you a decent score. Optimum line for bird one is as has been suggested, more specifically grazing the right hand side of the TNT on the way down which seems to cause the most consistent results by taking down all the left pigs. However if you don’t move the right boulder there’s still an opportunity. Use the yellow bird to fire through the wooden triangles on top of the left structure and skim the top of the ice. Done correctly some of this will fall and you’ll flick the remaining boulder onto the far right structure doing enough damage to compensate for using an extra bird. 108k for me but there’s potential for more.
After hours of work-l – 91670. Did exactly what the video did, but i took probably a LOT longer yo figure it out!
OK. Now I’m dumbfounded. I only enrolled here a day ago and entered my scores. They’re not all that hot. Then I looked and found out I’m #1 on 18-8 with my score of 113,680. The problem is that I have no memory of how I got my score. I went back to my iPhone and double-checked. Yup. That’s my score! Sweet mysteries of life….
I got lucky and the first bird hit more left than shown. all rock came down clearing all but the 2 right pigs. yellow bird took care of them. 90640

99,140. 2 birds. Difficult-but I have known worse! The only tip I can offer is if getting nowhere and able to move on to next screen, then do so and come back later-did that here-2nd shot got me the score & the 3*

I have been trying to beat this level for days! I always come here for help and after watching the video I beat it with a 3 star score of 108290!!! I couldn’t believe it! Love this site! Thanks for all the great tips & help!
93’310 not a giant score, but found an easier way. Thanks to Hatman Jack’s video on utube. Loft the green bird over the rock with cakes, and turn him ASAP. You wnt him to crash into the middle rock. He will bounce off and down hitting the tower killing the pig inside, and the helmeted pig too.
Then loft the yellow bird almost straight up then speed him down into the TNT when it goes up the 3 rocks come down killing the remaining pigs. 2 birds remain for bonus points.
The method worked my third try. I had been trying the vid above for two days without getting enough points.
Me, I’m still just playing catch up, but I did this one with two birds, those being the first two birds as described above the video. I seem to have gotten a bit more damage, but I’m not going to turn the L-factor down when it reaArs itself up!
was stuck on this for over an hour, but tried this and got 3 stars first go, reverse fling the boomerang bird then only had to break one bit of wood to finish it :)
Reverse flinging boomer has been my strategy, I’ve cleared the pigs, but not enough for three stars. I’m gonna try the “to infinity and beyond” shot with boomer and see what happens. Glad to see someone else had been reverse flinging boomer and wanted to say thanks for posting, I was feeling alone. LOL!
Tried some of above strats many times but no one-birder. Very frustrating. So tried adjusting slightly and got it after about ten tries. Pulled first bird down so that the end if his beak just protrudes beyond the slingshot pole. This should bring him down directly on top of the TNT. Tapped the screen just before he hits as that seems to give him extra speed/power. Everything fell right for 103+K. Finally!!!
Wow, difficult level for me. Took three evenings (roughly 10 hours of play) for me to finally get a one birder. Not thrilled by my one bird score, but not ready to sink another ten hours into this level. Tried every approach, high lob finally worked.

Only got it after one million tries. Bug in Galaxy Note 2: I can not see Chuck on top of lobshot and can only guess when to activate turbo in second shot.
Galaxy Note 2 will follow YB up a little but YB leaves the screen in crucial moment.
107000 One bird strategy. Lofted on to the right side of the TNT boom everything goes.
