About a month ago Rovio teased us that a new Bad Piggies Road Hogs update was coming soon. As the weeks went by the teaser became a distant memory. Well, to all us die hard Bad Piggies fans the wait is going to finally come to an end. Rovio announced that the Bad Piggies Road Hogs update will be out tomorrow, February 27th! They’ve also released a new trailer, which reveals a couple interesting tidbits as to what we should expect.
- It looks as if Road Hogs will be a new time trial mode where you’re racing to beat the clock.
- Angry Birds have found the pigs and have brought their trusty slingshot with them — fortunately they’re weary from their journey. As your’re traversing a level be careful not to make too much noise or you’ll wake them up. We all know the birds are especially grumpy when they wake up, so if you do wake them, they will attack.
- 30 new Flight in the Night levels and likely one new sandbox level
Yay!! I can’t wait!
I agree. It sounds like the best update ever!
Does anyone know for 100% sure that this is a new ‘mode’, or could it still be a new episode, that has some strange features;)
”Play 30 new Flight in the Night levels, along with an all new Road Hogs mode. Road Hogs features 6 time trial challenges and introduces global leaderboards.”
global leaderboards? That’s for me! I’m really exciting to beat the clock, since i’m a expert in making vehicles in Bad Piggies.
Finally, something to compete with other players for in BP:)
This is one of the best names for a new episode! Looking forward to tomorrow:)
I think if there are other game birds, or levels will be to help the pigs, or traps, and if as they say so I think the clock n pc arrives, since watching the others, but can also be new powers are something that add
Great Trailer !!!
Hmm… It says ‘download and compete now’. This must mean there’s some sort of competition involved.
Lack of competing with other players was only shortcome of Bad Piggies. With Road Hogs mode it is now fixed and I am sure Bad Piggies fans will have even more fun playing this awesome game. This game is far from being easy for me, but it is still my favorite. Looking forward for tommorow evening when we all will have game to enjoy and comment new mode Rovio will introduce in game.
I agree @cosmo2503 with the lack of competition. With the time clock to beat it should be more interesting to play. The waking up of the Birds should also provide another level complexity in the race to the finish line.
I am writing you this note again because I did so the other day and our conversation has been erased. Wrote a note to Birdleader and mentioned that I would try again on the same article we previously conversed to see if it says posted.
@cosmo2503 @wrw01 — I agree that the competition added to Bad Piggies is a big plus. However, the ability to compete is severely limited. The only levels where you get a score for time are the 6 Road Hog levels, and the GC leaderboard has a bug (scores for R-1 only are shown). Not to mention that it’s available to IOS users only. ABN has not yet created a leaderboard for Road Hogs.
The birds are only active in the new levels of Flight in the Night (as far as I can tell). The definitely are not in Road Hogs.
@mvnla2 after seeing those leaderboard(s) in GC I couldn’t agree more. But still I wonder how those scores of 8 seconds (now maybe even less) are possible. Do you have any explanation or observation on that.
@cosmo2503 — The other leaderboards on GC have all been hacked, so I see no reason why this one wouldn’t be also. Otherwise, maybe lots of rockets and TNT?
There seem to be plenty of sub-20 sec scores, and the progression to lower times seems to be fairly continuous till you get to the top 2; so maybe most of them are real.
Competition has been the one thing missing fro
Bad Piggies. Points are irrelevant for the game’s design so once the 3 objectives are met the level is done. Time trials will introduce re-playability to the levels and increase the life of this game in my opinion. I wonder if some of the previous levels will have time trials or if it will only be the new levels.
Exactly, this will be really cool! :)
My guess is that the mode will also apply to previous levels (like Mighty Eagle — hopefully with no extra charge to unlock).
I’m curious if there are any ways to earn stars in Road Hogs though.
Wow nice trailer! It looks like that you will be very careful of the birds and be on time in the finish line.
I have an ipod so the game is just to small to play for me. Wish it were otherwise, since sometimes it looks fun.
