Angry Birds Star Wars Golden Droid #9 (D-9) Walkthrough

Golden Droid #9 (aka, Golden Egg D-9) is located on level 4-35 of Angry Birds Star Wars Cloud City. The Golden Droid is in the top-right corner of the level, but beyond any bird’s reach. Instead, toss Chewie nearly vertically, having him land on the first fan and turn it. If the orientation is now nearly vertical, fling any remaining birds into its stream to bounce toward that Droid. Once you hit the Droid, you’ll immediately be transported via hyperdrive to the bonus level. The video below contains two parts. The first part reveals the Droid’s location on level 4-35 and how to obtain it. The second part shows you how to pass Droid level #9 (D-9) with 3 stars.

Aim to the top of the big boulder left from the flying pig. Active just before impact..

Simply straight forward. With some problems at the begining, next I take 61, 2 x 62 and 63 sharp. First time I’m No 1 at Group Levels (Bonus)!

You can also use Obi to fling debris from the top ship to hit the golden droid. Probably a lot harder than the video method but is an alternate strategy if you are somehow struggling with the video method

@john-phoenix @wicket182 anyone else with a score above 63K. Could really use some additional tips here to get above average. What strat did you use?
I think @Traneric‘s strat only works when the boulder is rotating clockwise. Any other opinions?

@bird-tester — Thanks. I got to 62710 trying to follow traneric’s strat. Returned to video method and got above average (for more than a day, I hope).

Aimed exactly at the center of the square block on the SOUTH corner of 9 o’clock platform. Detonate on impact. Droid debri will hit tie fighter and north west pig. The north pig on the south planet must hit the TNT and a piece of the platform has to be blown into the TNT on the north east planet. I raised my score to 66,490 as I was repeating this to write the description.

I’m used the basic approach of aiming at the large boulder by the flying fighter. If the debris from the TNT on the far side of the lower planet goes directly to the upper TNT I get those same 63k scores. The higher scores come when the debris wraps clockwise around the upper planet and strikes from the top.

@CrazyRider — Thanks! Your video (on YouTube) provided an existence proof that the video method above could get above 63K. Don’t know how high you can go with that. Would be interesting to know.

Hi. I think it’s easier and more consistently possible if you fire the first Chewie high to graze the left-hand side of the first steam vent as he falls then fire the second Chewie low as soon as possible, even before the vent has finished moving. It worked for me!

I’m still trying to figure out how to unlock D-9. Every thing else is 3 starred in S 1-9 and D 1-8–just can’t unlock D-9. Thanks for any help.

Always fun to have a level that has many possible solutions. Since it was easy to clear most of the large planetoid structure with little effort, i tried clearing the smallest planetoid instead. Shoot at the largest meteor of the upper threesome. Unleash 3P0 after you hit the meteor. Long wait seemed to work best if 3P0 doesn’t rotate.

Reset if you don’t get hit the TIE fighter with a piece of 3P0 which then causes a piece of wing to land on the caged TNT.

There is a photo of the setup shot. http://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/goofyfoot/album/picture/9314/

Was able to get 68k with this and repeat for a couple of 66k’s.
