Angry Birds Star Wars Golden Droid #7 (D-7) Walkthrough

Golden Droid #7 (aka, Golden Egg D-7) is located on level 3-36 of Angry Birds Star Wars Hoth. The Golden Droid is in the extreme top-right corner of the level, well out of reach of any birds. Use Leia’s tractor beam to lift the stone slab right of the Droid. Coincidentally, it settles at the perfect angle to ricochet Han’s blaster off of the slab. Once you hit the Droid, you’ll immediately be transported via hyperdrive to the bonus level. The video below contains two parts. The first part reveals the Droid’s location on level 3-36 and how to obtain it. The second part shows you how to pass Droid level #7 (D-7) with 3 stars.

All I can get is that 161,080 = 2* and that 164,860 = 3*
Pretty sure that 163,*** is just about possible with 1 bird low damage, and that 162,*** is just about possible with 2 bird very high damage. Will try for next 2 hours to find minimum;/

I had better luck without destroying C3PO, just pushing through the first planet, then the meteorites. Can it be called a blaoted droid?

@lvmh I found the same thing. Destroying him seemed to throw too much debris into the outer atmosphere costing points. Leaving him intact seemed to keep everything nice and snuggled within both planets atmospheres so that the revolving rocks have a better chance of crushing the small stones. Aim C3PO at the small stone above the rock directly in front of the sling. He should slice right through and gently push the back rock into the next planets atmosphere. Results obviously can vary but from what I could see my 170,680 score had no little stones left over. GL:)

@JLZ – good advice, although I haven’t quite gotten 170k yet.

Thanks @jlz-666 ;-) I also found the “Bloated C3PO” worked best but was shooting him at the top left edge of the left stone for 168K scores. I tried Your strat sending him through the little stone just above where I was aiming and got my score up to 169940 ;-)

btw…It sure did get annoying having the “instructional pic” show up (about every 5th try) of how to use his powers, lol ;-)

Thanks @jlz-666, @lvmh, definately the way to go on this one. Interestingly I couldn’t get it to work going through the small stone directly below the large rock, only through the upper one. I thought with a symmetrical arrangement it would work both ways but I guess not.
I love the term “bloated droid” – I know the feeling :)

You’re right about the symmetry @karen68 Once I realised the bloated droid was the way to go I tried coming at it from the stone below but had a completely different outcome. It looks like the sweetspot is absolutely the first little stone above the rock. I wish I knew if this is the technique for getting another 1k as I really can’t move from this score. I’m just back to work today after a very indulgent 10 day holiday & believe me I’m feeling every inch a bloated droid at the moment ;) @lesleyg yep it’s extremely annoying being told how to fling lol! It happened on another couple of levels in Star Wars that drove me nuts!

169590 – I sent 3PO south, grazing SE pig, and activated it as it got to the bottom rock. Things go right, and up, collapsing both small and large rings to planets. I had to wait at times for a small part of one of the right rocks to get inside the gravitational field of the right planet.
Still working on 170K or more.

Regardless of the way shots are made and rings collapse, IMO the only way beyond 170K is to destroy the rocks. Which generally means the small ring has to go completely to the upper or lower planet. I haven’t fond a way to make the large ring go to the solid surfaces.

Thanks @jlz-666, your aiming tip with the “bloated droid” strategy worked like a charm for me!

Nice score! @furfeather I’m stuck at 170,680. With the top score 1k above me I think there must have been a couple of the smaller stones hiding within the tangle of large rocks. Glad I could help though! GL :)

A strategy that will yield consistant (about one in ten shots) scores of 170,000 is to send C3PO to barely touch the 12:00 rock so that he ricochets into the upper planet. Detonate C3PO IMMEDIATELY upon reaching the upper planet. The debris should touch a stone in the large ring and send that ring into the singularity. This method appears to destroy the blocks more evenly. I think it is because the rings are collapsing unbroken. I have no idea how scoring is on this level. I have destroyed every single stone many many times and have had scores ranging from 169,000 to 171,000 with what looks like exactly the same total destruction.
