Below is a video that demonstrates the “Lightsaber Glitch” that can occur on Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Rebels Level BE-12. This glitch was first reported by to us by @myselfiandme (view the comment thread). As of writing, this glitch has been proven to be repeatable on iOS and Android.
Note, this glitch can yield MUCH higher scores. @e-star stopped it short intentionally, as this is just a proof of concept. If you’re looking for the 3-star video head here.

There is a variation of the glitch that yields scores quicker. 2k per blast by the blaster on the right. Using the strat by @thee-michelle, the blaster fell down and was shooting down instead of up like the video. In the process of writing this post, my score is currently up to 322k and climbing fast. I have a screen cap of the level and will post it later.

what is the highest possible number that ABSW2 could recognize (android)
I plan to leave it running over night which would give me a score of approx 44 mil. (4 mil per hour for the next 10 hours plus my current 4 mil)
@Sparty83 Not sure about AB, but on Game center, the max is 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 which is why so many of the hacked scores use that number. If the same limit applies to AB, I think you may have a bit of a wait ahead of you :)
Hmmm, not sure I can go 2,305,843,009,213.7 hours without my phone. Guessing there will be an AB update of some sort during that period.
@Sparty83 A few updates. :) Your phone would probably turn to dust long before the halfway point. Still, if it were possible, at least you’d have earned it, which is more than can be said for the people who post those scores.

@sparty83 Earlier today I was sent a message from one of the admins here on ABN. I had posted a question about the Saber/Shooter Glitch, wondering if it could be duplicated elsewhere in SWII. My post was deleted, and I the message that said no scores gotten using the saber/shooter glitch will be allowed. Am wondering why the glitch has been allowed to become public if it is deemed wrong ? Doubt there will be a badge for it either.
In the actual level walkthrough thread, there is mention of a possible new badge for this glitch, similiar to the Anchors away and others. But I was able to get this glitch going in my 4th try using the Tuscan Raider. In my opinion, this is a very easy to reproduce glitch and my not be worthy of a badge.
I was able to open all Reward Chapter locks using this very simple glitch without using the coin.
The first bird makes the state of the glitch according to the strategy.
I perform swap of the second bird to the character who wants to open Reward Chapter lock and give it up properly.
I only wait to a score necessary to open Reward Chapter lock afterward.
It is to wait from a score from the back that threw the second character to a score necessary to open Reward Chapter lock that is careful.
I achieved all Reward Chapter locks only in each one character by this method.
But I guess you did not get the character achievements, right? @thee-michelle

As for what I explained, the score that increases after having thrown the character in the second of them is necessary for the character achievements.
A character score of the first of them and the character score that I threw after the third of them should not add it.

Did I get you right? With your method, you can unlock the new Reward Levels for free and without having the necessary points, and once they are unlocked you can use as many of the new characters as you want (in the particular Reward Levels) in order to get the necessary points for the character achievements?

It is true to be able to win the points necessary for character achievement in only one of them.
1. I make the state of the glitch.
2. I throw the character who wants to get character achievement properly.
3.I wait until I win the points for necessary character achievement.
4. I knock down all pigs and terminate a level.
5. A lock of the Reward Chapter of the character who threw it with 2 is opened.
I only repeat this in other characters who do not get character achievement.
I’m trying to do it but it’s not working. maybe ill drop it and keep my scores clean.
Can anybody explain me again how this glitch works? I still don’t get it.
@chriss You need to have one of the cannons to shoot “The Inquisitor”. He will deflect all the shots, and each hit awards you with 1K points.
@sparty83 I think there should be a badge for this glitch, and of course a cap on the points one is allowed to claim, with proof of course. It was done for other levels of games that had insanely high scores, at least while the glitch was attainable, why not this one ?

Yes there are badges for other glitches that are widely known and verified on both platforms. Anchors Away for one. But in my opinion, this glitch is way too easy to exploit. I remember spending almost every waking moment for over a week trying to get the Anchors Away glitch. Several times it seemed like it took only to fail. (and by fail, i mean the glitch didnt take and it wasn’t an error on my part). This glitch is way too easy to get. I got it on my 4th try. 2 tries like the vid and 2 tries with Tuscan Raider. And the points rack up very fast. I was getting almost 4 million an hour. Anchors away gave points, but I had to let my phone run overnight (hoping no one called me) to get over the threshold.
IMO, just too easy for a badge.
@sparty83 I have to agree that this glitch is pretty easy to duplicate, but I still see a need for a badge. In the past ABN capped scores and awarded a badge on this type of level. I feel it should be done the same as those levels. Or allow an unlimited score for this level, you could let you phone run for days, or weeks even, and get a billion points and have the high score !!!!!!!!
I used the strategy posted by @aleksch on the 3 star walkthrough: “By the way,in order to get glitch going I swapped for Tusken Raider and targeted the platform on which the blaster gun stands, and after numerous attempts everything lined out perfectly.”
It worked after a few tries and still counting through 5 million. Will be going to work soon so it will have to be ended.
@birdleader It would be great to have a badge for this glitch. As in the past the ABN’s leaderboards can be capped and screen shots submitted for proof to award the badges.
@wrw01 I used the TIE Fighter to get the glitch going. Shot just under the laser cannon it dropped a little while turning downward to fire upon the Light Saber.
I let the glitch run overnight and a bit into the next day, stopping it after it reached a little over 64 million. Posted a picture of that on this page. I also asked a simple question about the glitch, wondering if it could be used on another episode to obtain another insanely high score. That post was deleted and I was sent a note saying that no scores obtained using the glitch will be allowed.
I am really confused on this. Why is there a walkthrough showing the glitch, a whole page of posts talking about it, and when I post a pic of a score, with a simple question of whether it could be used on another episode in SWII, my posts are deleted and I am admonished by one of the admins ? Just what is actually going on here ?
A Game Center lesson to learn by:
Started the counter running by using the Tusken Raider. Also used the Tie Fighter as jtwade mentioned. Let the iPad run on Saturday and through the night. Obtained 69,093,552 and then completed the level with Anakin Skywalker Podracer or the Biker Scout into the double saber pig on the right. I also competed the level with a score of 10 million last Wednesday which provided a total score around 30 million.
The total score of 69 mil was posted on Game Center but within an hour it was erased along with other scores for some of the SW2 chapters. Scores for 7 chapters remain. What is interesting is that in the chapters that were erased, other than the Rebels-Birds Side, the scores were also pretty high due to the interchangable characters.
So, if you enjoy using Game Center and what it offers (which I do), you may want to restrain from posting a high score using the glitch. A low score of 10 million appears to be acceptable because that was posted since last Wednesday and nothing was erased in Game Center for any of the Chapters. That in itself, presents another set of questions.
The Star Wars II game does pose some interesting challenges to those folks who are setting the GC scoring caps for each Chapter due to the use of various characters for each level. While I agree that the GC hackers should be erased, what about the players who have obtained their scores by flinging the birds and pigs in the manner that the game was designed. I do have to admit that Rovio probably did not design this level to obtain these high scores. Given that, not quite sure why the scores for the other levels were erased.
I think I found where I can get 500k points with chopper and 500k points with Imperial Officer XD. Thanks for this glitch!
Just cheked my strategy. IT WORKED!
I let the glitch run over night. I reset the level just after taking this screen cap. I didn’t want my overall level score to be well north of 40 million.

Well,there’s a problem.You wouldn’t be able to clear the level using the 2 remaining birds,you need 4.So unless you swapped for the occasion,you could not clear level and thus score was invalidXD
my intent was not to complete the level but to see if it would run for 10 plus hours, and therefore verifing that it will most likely run for as long as one wanted.
I usually play Angry Birds Go (hence my on the Nest) . Keeping up with ABSW2 updates and before bed last night, started the glitch. Left phone plugged in and 8 hours of sleep later woke up to over 32 million points. End glitch at this point as it will apparently just keep going……
I’m gonna let mine get up to 1 million before I stop it. I got lucky and this happened to me a few minutes and I was like “holy crap” so I came to ABN to see if anyone else reported this glitch, and well here it is. Quite funny I got it to happen on my own!
What’s the max score going to be set at for this level on the boards?
@ericbirdz Just got a note from an admin, seems that no scores using a light saber and shooter to rack up points are going to be allowed. Guess anyone who has used the “glitch” and talked about it will soon have their messages deleted also. Or maybe it is just mine that get deleted.

As for not allowing insane scores, I completely agree and I’ve read some other posts here in favor of setting a reasonable limit.
Which leaves the question if there will be a new badge for this, or if the admins simply give @myselfiandme a badge for being the first to report it.

@burpie Since one of the admins thought it was ok to delete posts concerning this glitch I had assumed that all of the admins where of one mind on the subject. Guess “assuming” worked again ( made me look like one LOL ).
I agree that the insanely high scores need to be capped, maybe like the ones that got the Over the Moon badge was done. But I do wonder why it is deemed worth someone’s post being deleted to just mention the glitch and if it could be used in another episode in SWII ?
This glitch reminds me of the Christmas tournament 2 years ago, where the snow cannons, would fire, and just continue to rack up points!!
For testing purposes, they should use Slim or Sal, or any of the other slingers here for UT approval!!
Ladies and gentlemen,may I have your attention.This.Is.Not.A.Glitch.As is universally accepted,genuine lightsabers,stationary or not, cannot be destroyed by laser blasts or other lightsabers.Thus in the event that a laser cannon keep firing at a lightsaber,all shots will be reflected with no damage whatsoever to the weapon.Good find though.
@fleshyskeleton I do think this is a “Glitch” level because as far as I know, no other level has been found to score this way. Or maybe we should call it an “unusual” level since one can gain an unusually high score because of an anomaly in the way it score ?
I do not think this is a glitch because when lazer bolts hit a lightsaber, ther bounce off.

@kedik22 I think you should post your score. That is if the upper limit on the score for this level will allow you to do that. Sooner or later the admins here will have to set a cap on the score for this level, and hopefully give a badge for those that provide proof that they scored higher as has been done on other “Glitch” or unusual levels like this one.
Ok. I NEVER show up when these things (glitches, quirks, anomalies, whatevers) are atill working. I see a lot of talk about the happening but not a description of what is actually occurring. Is there some connection made between the light saber and the first radar gun? When the saber glows is the connection made and points keep flowing? I’ve recreated the shot many times and see the radar gun fall into the same spot with no points accumulating. Would someone please describe what needs to occur to get it to keep racking up points? (If I’ve missed it in the thread I apologize but most posts just discussed either point totals or whether to call it a glitch.) I don’t care if I can’t use the points, I’d like to see it happen.

@maiasatara If you click on the video at the top of the page you can see the glitch in action. It can take a few try’s to get this glitch started, but it is very difficult to recreate. I used the TIE fighter and shot just under the laser cannon.

I don’t know @jtwade I think you were right the first time, lol. Thanks for the suggestion to use the TIE Fighter but I still don’t know what I need to DO to get the glitch (or feature) to occur. Is it a random occurrence or do I need to hit a specific spot, or does something have to fall a certain way? None of that is obvious (to me) in any video or description so far. There is no, “You need to do X,” just result videos and discussions of what to call it and what people used to make the shot but not WHERE to shoot and what must happen WITH that shot. I’m reluctant to use earned swaps until I know exactly what I’m doing since I refuse to pay money for them. Everything I get comes from melting. I’ll keep up the random stuff I’ve been doing and hope a description is forthcoming. : ) Good luck, all.
I did use the TIE fighter a few times, aimed as you suggested, btw, but didn’t have any luck.

It may take a few attempts to get the cannon to drop a little and shoot downwards towards the light saber. Any blaster shooter can make this happen, I find Hans and the TIE fighter the easiest. Shoot while just a little higher that the laser cannon, at the stuff that supports it. A good shot will help the laser cannon drop and turn downward towards the light saber.
I can’t get this to work either :-(. I’ve only got one more level to 3* on each of the Masters Chapters, so I need to be able to unlock some more of the reward levels :-/. I think I’ve collected pretty much all of the faux money in the levels where I don’t have to use up my stash of characters and I’m not about to pay real money for this so I need to figure out how to get this glitch to work so I’ve got something to play with :-). Angry Birds is the only video game I play :-).

Just tested to see if the glitch is still “working.” The update has disabled the ability to get a high score via this method.
