I swapped the given character with a battle droid and aimed at the first tree. Immediately after release I shot the chain holding up the TNT. This strategy yielded me 120570 on the first try, but I’m not sure I feel comfortable posting it. Does anyone else feel like using a swapped character (that has a clear advantage)to get a high score is kind of cheating? This is especially the case if not everyone has access to the swapped character. Anyway, I hope my strategy helps.

I think I saw an admin post in another area that says if you have to press a button to get the bird into the sling then you can’t use that for a high score. (I’m paraphrasing but that’s the essence.) I don’t want to speak FOR them but in my opinion, any score obtained by using a swapped character should not be entered into the leaderboard.

@Maiasatara We permit scores obtained with Character Swaps and TELEPODs for ABSW2. We made this decision after a long discussion in-house and with Rovio. We aren’t trilled about the choice, but it is both necessary and fair within this app.

Regarding my strategy above, I used Han Solo not battle droid. I’m pretty sure they do the same thing though.

Haven’t been able to perfect it yet, but this could be a 2 birder score with the original birds. Get the first tree with Leia, then use second bird to hit tnt far right and if lucky resulting debris lauches high and left cutting the tnt chain. I had debris explode this way, but the chain has not been cut so far for me giving me the high score I seek.

I could not get the walk through strat to work, the screen seems neither zoomed in nor out.

Picture (fully zoomed out on my IPad) shows the trajectory that I used. Wait until Padme hits the bottom left branch, as she drops onto the chain activate the force at about 2 o’clock, to early and you snap the chain which needs to pull out the metal block in the middle structure. Tree flies off to the right and right tower is destroyed, now you need some luck, ideally the centre structure collapses setting off the TNT and debris pushes over the left hand side tree. Just keep trying and you will get lucky.

In case of this level i totally agree with not linking the possibility to swap. Makes this sometimes very boring, when the scores just depend of the luck of falling debris.

Aim…shoot…wait.

So i tried to modify.

Aim Lando or whoever down to the left pig, shooting up high, just left of the chain. This causes most of the chain falling down and getting destroyed by the explosion.
Some extra points i think, with all the luck in debris….you can´t count with that.

lol…yeah, that WAS a little vague, wasn’t it… The aim up isn’t really important, what you want is for Padme to come down on the top right side of the left tree. This eliminates the need to have the debris (i.e., antenna) fall far enough to the left to knock the left tree over. I got the best results on the right side by tapping the right edge of the bottom right branch on the right tree, but the scores here are very dependent on debris.

I was hoping for an alt strat, as I can’t get that right tree to go up and end over end, like it does in the video walkthrough. I’ve been at it for hours, and still no three stars. I Don’t want to swap. I’ve never had to before. I wonder if, since the telepods are so actively promoted in the adds for SW II if rovio might have made the levels harder w/original bird than previous games? I just know that, since the right tree simply topples, and padme lands in the fallen middle tower rubbish, the right tower is consistently standing tall and proud. How to pick UP that right tree?..hmmm..

I did it! Non-swap strategy,,it’s not gonna get anyone a high score. It did, however, allow me to finally 3-star this level with one bird. Same idea as video, but put padme on a lower trajectory. When she is almost at the bottom of her descent, just above Where the chain hooks to the left side of the tree to the far right, activate her tractor beam. Touch just to the right of the trunk, but ABOVE the chain/tree joint on the opposite side. Pretty much horizontally across from and a smidge lower than Padme’s location. Took three tries, but I finally got the bottom of the tree to lift up, and the top to tilt down, and whole thing to go slightly to the right. Then everything happened just like the video and I had my three stars. Finally.

This is NOT an easily repeatable 1-bird strategy, however since it did yield my current +128K score and appears to be a slightly different approach than others that are posted I thought it should be shared for the record. I’m hopeful the strategy may yet result in a puppy before the current Challenge ends ~ we’ll see…………

My +128K score was obtained using a Captain Panaka swap however a Hans Solo swap also works. THE OBJECTIVE is to have either character contact the falling TNT pushing it towards the right-hand tree as the TNT explodes. Launch Hans or the Captain at an angle of approximately 45-degrees and shoot at the hanging TNT chain as quickly after launch as possible ~ firing must occur so quickly in order for the TNT to drop into position to be pushed by the character that there is no time for precise aiming ~ anywhere high enough not to explode the TNT must do. (You should “get the feel” of how you need to adjust the launch angle and shot timing after a few tries.)

The tree reacts differently than in the other strategies in that it most often will rotate a full 360-degrees striking the far tower with the base of the tree rather than the top of the tree. I have no idea why, or even if that difference in the tree/tower contact it is related to obtaining my +128K score. But on at least that one occasion it resulted in significantly more destruction and almost a 4K increase over my prior best scores using other methods, and several other times since around 2K increases. The destruction after the +128K shot is shown in a screenshot posted to my AB album: http://bit.ly/1pD8jgD

The right-hand tree will sometimes fall to the left, sometimes come to rest on top of the stump, and sometimes rotate the 360-degrees and come to rest against the tower without toppling it. These non-productive outcomes are most common using Hans Solo although because Hans’ missiles get to the chain faster than the Captain’s shots, it’s easier to get Hans to contact and push the TNT towards the tree than it is using the Captain. However the Captain seems to cause the tree to topple the right-hand tower more often than when using Hans Solo ~ don’t know why……

Now remember I warned that this strategy is not easy to do and in fact is pretty frustrating ~ but it does on occasion result in significant destruction so perhaps you may wish to give it a try.

Cheers ~
