Angry Birds Space Utopia Level 4-4 Walkthrough

A good strategy for Utopia level 4-4 is to send the Blue bird toward the top-left bumper, splitting relatively close to it. The goal is to clear at least the left and top structures via the TNT and popcorn kernels. With a little luck, you can reach the kernels near the right structure with debris, but use the Lazer bird otherwise.

@tweetfun it’s a matter of luck as well. Try varying with angles and moments of split, follow a bird to see wether it’s too high or low and adjust. It’s a matter of time until you get the top bird bounced into the tnt.

Not much you can do differently on this one. I waited so blue only took out the TNT and left the pigs to the mercy of the popcorn and what the other bluebirds blew up. One shot, but I am sure there are a few more points there with a lucky shot.

I had a weird thing happen. I thought I had cleared all the pigs, and couldn’t figure out why the level wouldn’t end. Upon closer inspection, one of the bubble pigs had fallen to the ground and didn’t pop! Must have landed on a cushion of popcorn or something.

I’m very slowly making my way through these levels–working for high scores before moving on. It seems to me, at least so far, that the Utopia levels have more randomness (or a “luck quotient”) than most episodes. Is it just me?

I was thinking of posting the same thing @doctonynyc. You can execute a shot perfectly and there will still be a lot of random things that can bounce one way or another to mess up your score.

It seems that the best you can do is put yourself in the best position to succeed and then hope for a lucky bounce.

Rank: Well Traveled with 1855 points

Exactly. Sometimes the randomness can be fun, but it can also become very frustrating when, say, a popcorn kernel doesn’t pop in just the right way. I sometimes tell my non-AB playing partner that I’m waiting for the planets to line up. Somehow that seems a particularly fitting description on AB Space.

I can’t see how to get a few more thousand out of this level. The high score is mind blowing – they must have gotten every bit of debris and all the popcorn to get that score.

I have found shooting up at the TNT to be the most reliable way to get a good score. Bouncing of the left bumper seems to produce nowhere near as many TNT hits.

Any suggestions would be great – thanks!

I have been shooting just below the left floating pig, waiting until he just starts heading back toward the TNT (after his little fake out move) and splitting just before hitting about 4:00 (as per leelee0927 above). Top bird hits TNT and bottom takes out unexploded popcorn on left. Usually hit for mid 80Ks. After about 50 tries hit total destruction for 93K. Nothing special, just luck. Don’t perceive Utopia allows for repeatable strats, just those which increase the potential for luck to kick in. Now off to try for a 1-birder on level 2. Must have tried over 1,000 times so far……

Not an entirely different method than those already revealed but this one involves a bit more “strateg-ery.” instead of hitting the left red bumper with a direct shot around that “4 o’clock” area, I’ve floated the blue bird to an area above and a little right of the bumper. As the bird reaches its apex, tap and split so the three birds then fall on the bumper from above. You should be able to find that spot where one birdlet misses the bumper and hits the left structure, one bounces into the middle structure, and the last will ricochet off the top red bumper into the TNT below it, setting off that all important debris field toward the right structure. Can’t tell why this shot pops more popcorn sometimes – yet. Aloha.

Oh sure, Surfcow, tell us you weren’t snacking on some of that magical fungi that grows in the pasture before writing that “alternate” strategy.
For the Daily Challenge I’m gonna close my eyes and use The Force on this one. In other words I will be flinging birds in all possible directions and activating them at random, hoping and praying for a lucky break. I wish there was some magical shot here but this seems to be all about the luck of the pop. I followed the video – there is a very bright star at about the 11o’clock position from the TNT, there’s one in the video above but the one I’m seeing on my ipad is much closer to the central platform. I aim right at this star & wait for the pig to go all the way left & as soon as he starts moving back right, fling the blues. I have been splitting them a shade earlier than the walkthrough, just before it passes the bottom left corner of the top platform. The right blue detonates the TNT then falls back down to get the floating pig, the other two drop onto the left platform. There’s a wooden triangle that gets shot from the middle platform to the right one to set that one off. The toughest part has been getting the right floating pig, you have to hope some popcorn or debris gets him.
Some of the popcorn disappears off the bottom of the screen only to reappear & do more damage, including sometimes getting the right floating pig. When I scored 87k, I got a fair bit of help from the reappearing popcorn, & somehow almost everything got knocked off the platforms, & there were no unpopped kernels left. Of course I haven’t gotten near that score since, I guess I had a large shot of the L-factor helping me out.

I can’t tell you how to get a top score here, but I can give some observations that may be useful.
1. I don’t know if this would work on other platforms, but on a PC….when you have a good shot, take a small piece of scotch tape. Make a dot on it and paste that dot over the actuation place on the screen of the good shot. That way it is easier to see exactly where subsequent shots are and the result.
2. There are lots of places that yield one birders.
3. My highest scores were from aiming at the right bumper. One birders
are not as frequent from there, but it seems to give higher scores.
Lowest scores seemed to come from aiming directly at the tnt.
4. Higher scores seem to result when the reactions are more delayed, and
sometimes a bird will come all the way around the planet, so don’t
reset too quickly.
5. Is that Key Lime Pie???? I must be ready for a Florida vacation.

I have gotten several improved scores by aiming towards the left bumper just above where the thin white “glare” line on the bumper itself ends…about 3 o’clock. I shot the bird right upon reset and split them very soon. Here’s a screenshot to show the trajectory, the split and the remaining debris:

http://angrybir.de/YtG0n8

I’ve had several good scores this way and some good ones even when I split a bit earlier. The most common outcome is the two bottom birds pop the left structure’s popcorn while the top bird of split hits higher up on the bumper where it then bounces into the tnt to ignite it. (Sometimes the middle bird will bounce all the way over to the right structure but it’s pretty rare)It’s pretty repeatable. I hope the screenshot helps ;-)
