One strategy for Utopia level 4-22 is to fire the first bomb bird straight ahead trying to clip the middle icy asteroid. This should take out the topmost fat pig. Now fire the next bomb bird low into the connected group of asteroids to take out the southern most pig. If necessary, mop things up with the last bomb bird.

Amslimfordy your video shows three stars at 82800! But you have mentioned 3 star score needed as 84000. Can u pls clarify what is the minimum score neede for three stars. Thanx .

ALTERNATE STRATEGY WITH TWO BIRDS GOT 99,910: I bounced the first bird off the big blue disc at the lower right. It snuck behind the first big pig and the little pig before detonation, which popped the little pig and shoved the big pig and several of the rocks and iceteroids to the left. A chain reaction of exploding iceteroids demolished everrthing except one of the big pigs in back. One more bird took card of him, so there was a 10K bonus. 100,000 is clearly possible this way (as it is with the original strategy), but I’ll leave it for tomorrow when I’m fresh.
I tried the way in the video about 25 times never getting above 1 star, but the 3rd time I tried this method, I got 3 stars! Thanks!
Hmmm. This level has stumped me. Anybody got any other strategies?
I found another way to 3-star this.
Hit the first Black Bird to the icy asteroid in front of the bottom Fat Pig.It should take down every pig except the small pig in front of an asteroid and the Fat Pig in the corner back.Throw the second black bird on the icy asteroid next to the small pig,which should eliminate him.Use the last Black Bird to destroy the Fat Pig and you should get 3 stars.I got 87,580.
This strategy works well. 3rd attempt: 110,190!

Alternative Strategy
1. Aim the first Black exactly at the red light thingy so it’ll break through
the ice that stands between. DO NOT trigger the explosion. This should clear
most (if not all) of the asteroids so we’ll have clearer “path” to those
evil piggies. It’ll also kill 2 pigs at the left-most portion of the level
although killing only the small one will suffice.
2. Aim the second as low as possible at the “shield” of the lowest big pig.
This time it won’t make any difference whether you opted to trigger the
explosion after impact or not as long as you have at least 2 kills (3 is
possible if you only have 1 kill with the first).
3. Aim the last Black to the right-most big pig which most likely will still
be smiling at the moment.
I was able to score 104.280 with this strat. Hope this will help… ;)

I also bounced it off the crater. Some other observations:
I found it best to aim the first bird ever so slightly to the right of the red light. This will make sure the lowest ice asteroid always gets popped.
It is important that the explosion from the second bird accelerates the cluster of boulders with some speed into the upper planet. A lot of points to collect by smashing most of those boulders.
The last bird should create a whip-like effect on the last pig’s armour to smash the candy+popcorn on the far side wall for more points.
Great strategy. Shot 1 as you say but I put a twist on shot 2 and send the bird bouncing off of the large crater on the lower moon. This always puts the bomb right where you want it, at the bottom of the shield, and >100k scores happen regularly.

I had trouble with this level. I had written down what the “average” score was from the leaderboard and when I finally got 94270 on my own I was very happy to come and post it here with the technique I used to get it and then I saw it was pretty average at that ;-) I was sending first BB into the first big boulder which then goes onto to hit the red flashing light and boulder which is the same as @birdjo‘s strat. However the two stones on the bottom were always left in the way of the second shot so I aimed second bird between the far right and bottom pig with good results. However, I came here to post and saw this so I tried @burpie‘s second shot, because as I said, those two bottom boulders were always left in the way of a good shot to the bottom pig and it worked great! Bounced right off the bottom crater and then third BB to far right pig. Improved my score to 102340 on second try! Thanks to both of you for the tips!
I was just happily buzzing along with this strategy getting about 38-40k on first shot, then up to 75k on second and ending up with scores ranging from 95k to 102k depending on boulder crush. The, I slipped and bird #3 went to the right between the last pig and the wall and the extra points from destroying the candy wrappers pushed me to 113k!
I used @birdjo for #1, @burpie for #2 and @dougwo for #3. A great combo of best shots. Thanks to you all!

So that makes it…
Shot 1: aim for the blinking light, self-detonate. Looking for 36.000+ and three pigs remaining.
Shot 2: bounce off of the crater, detonate just before impact with bottom pig’s shield. Should take out that pig and the small one to it’s right.
Shot 3: at the blue candy wrapper below the last pig, self-detonate.
@birdjo: Thanks for the excellent strategy. The only problem I was having is on my second shot it seemed like the boulders didn’t have enough momemtum to crash into the wall and break. So what I started to do with my third bird is fire it to the left side of the last pig as soon as my second bird blew up, sometimes debri will get in the way but if you are lucky enough to avoid that I found that the explosion of the third bird will accelerate the boulders just a little more resulting in a higher score.
I was just giving myself a pat on the back for my 97k+ score when I came here and saw the number of shooters with scores over 100k. :-(
I did find that aiming the first bird towards the flashing light asteroid (a la @birdjo ) did the best job of smashing the most asteroids, contributing to higher points. The remaining birds I shot in a different way every time depending on the position of things after the asteroid explosions had settled.

Thank you guys for the hints! I got the high score using exactly what has been posted here on the first two shots. The last wrinkle to consistently get over 105K is to put the third bird behind the final remaining pig (against the wall by the candy wrappers/popcorn), and let him self-detonate. The explosion will destroy everything behind the shield and send the shield into the boulders. All that was left was one half of one shield and a few small rocks…pretty much destroyed everything!
I’ll have to revisit this level and try the new and improved third bird shot.
Same strat, @erock28! But I aimed 3rd bird straight into candy wrappers/popcorn and detonated manually. Some debris still alive, so I think results about 116-116.5-117K are theoretically possible.
I prefer to bounce the first bird off the large crater at the bottom – the same shot that burpie describes as shot 2. Results can vary a bit, but you generally get good destruction if the bird strikes the stone piece at the SSE corner of the shield. Just make sure that all of the icy asteroids are destroyed and pray that you don’t end up with debris right in front of the slingshot interfering with the following shots. Birds 2 and 3 are situation-dependent. With the second shot, you generally need to pop the topmost fat pig and its shield, often by pushing the locked-together boulders into it. With the third, you usually have to pop the rightmost fat pig, which seems to earn the most points when you detonate the bomb bird just to its top left. This helps in taking out quite a bit of leftover shield debris from the previous shot. This strategy got me 113k, and more should be possible.
Could someone describe the “crater” to me? I’m not seeing it. Probably right in front of me and I just need a new perspective.
Well, it isn’t really a “crater” – it’s the large round bump on the WNW side of the large icy moon at the bottom left.

Same strat as AustinRHL but let me refine it a little. Aim at the far right side of the large “crater” or “bump” so that the bird bounces into the five o’clock nub sticking out of the bottom pig. Activate the bird as it hits the nub. After this anything is possible up to and including a one birder. If you do get a one birder, be ready to throw another bird quickly because the score probably won’t be very high. Often with this first shot there is only one pig left and it makes sense to use the second shot on debris instead of the remaining pig. By the way, my high score would have been higher than it is if the darned thing hadn’t timed out.
This is the way I’ve been doing it. Went from 106xxx to 112xxx. Tried a few more times and was about to move on when I got the new high score of 116090.

Glad I could help @angermanagement. When I saw your posting, I decided to try again with this level and went up about 5,000 points using the same strat. Adding to what I said above……. with the first shot it’s most important to get as many icy asteroids blowing up as possible. Second shot, if possible, try to get some of the circular segments to end up near the last pig. If you can get the last shot to be between the last pig and a portion of the segment left from the second shot, high scores are more probable.
Thanks for additions, @stocktoad, weird how me revisiting has inspired you to be even bettererer;) I may need to revisit this level in the coming days so… After 1st shot around 36k+, second shot should have alot of metal and wood near the last fat pig, with around 70-80k+, and final should end up around 110k+ by aiming right in the middle, got it, thanks for additions:)
I was completely stuck at 92,000 only 18 hours ago, however with @stocktoad‘s brilliant strategy I was able to get the current #5 score (as of 21/02/13) with 118,290.
Shot 1: Aim for the right edge of the crater and blow up after impact with the metal block in the 5 ‘o’ clock position, surrounding the bottom fat pig. If you get it right then, if not all, then most of the ice meteors will explode, gathering up points.
Shot 2: Blow up the last pig using the above strategy to maximise amount of points (Aim for sweets then explode pig).
Shot 3: Into pile of rocks for around 13k…
If you want to swap around shot 2 and shot 3 then that may work better, as there will be no chance of the level ending prematurely and the explosion of the rocks may push some towards the fat pig, so the last shot could produce more destruction.
