Angry Birds Space Cold Cuts Level 2-29 Walkthrough

Cold Cuts level 2-29 is one of the more difficult levels. One strategy is to fire the bomb bird up above the first planetoid (aiming for the glass beam that’s at at about a 35 degree angle). Gravity will suck the bomb bird down towards the planetoid and his detonation will send debris down towards the other two planets. With a little luck the the TNT will float down towards the right planetoid taking out most of the pigs. Then fire the second bomb bird at the first planetoid to take out the remaining pigs.

Went low and got it in two with a 92980 total. First fire bird goes under the left most spehere and into the far right sphere. The impulse forces the TNT into the top sphere. All that is left is an easy shot at the left most sphere.
Enjoy.

I aimed the first Bom bird for the lower ring. Just skimming the top of the 6 ‘o clock stone pillar. This made the Bom bird circle the planet and landed at 2 ‘o clock. Blowing everything of the lower left planet away and more important shot the TNT to the top planet. There it exploded, taking everything away there. The second Bom I send to the middle of the 3 planets, aiming for the left over piggies on the lower right planet. Got 97010 this way!

I record every play I make (press button, tap ‘record’ on screen, play… miss… press button, tap ‘delete video’, press button, tap ‘record’ on screen, play… and so on and so on) a video of every play I do. I started in the beginning with first trying out a strat and than recording, but I found out that ‘beginners luck’ doesn’t always come back a second time and I couldn’t make a new high score. So to avoid that agony, I record every play :0
It does take a whole lot of time, but trying to get the score’s I want does that too. It can take a whole evening for one good video/score. I got my achievement “30 hours playing AB Space” half way trough CC, haha

I want to give something extra to the ABN crowed (don’t know why, but I love the nest and you birdies all over the world!). Fuij (and don’t forget Slim for DZ!) provides the fix of the 3 stars with the speed of lighting. So that fix I can’t give, so I give the fix for the Score junkies :)

I’ve been working on this level for 2 hours straight. I am writing this to those people that are entering Space for the first time. There are two things you need to know: #1. @E-Star‘s videos will do nothing but help you improve. #2. @lesleyg is great at providing alternative insights to these levels. I’m only saying this because they helped me jump up the Cold Cuts leaderboards.
That being said, watch E-Star’s video for your first shot. If you do not get over 55k on your first bird, you will have problems getting over 90k on this level. If you do not get over 55k, restart. If hit the shot, good job. Now, in the video you see second bird go over the closest planet to the sling. I realized something while playing this level during the last hour. If you shoot your second bird about 2 clicks underneath your first shot’s flight path, it puts your bird on the bottom of the planet holding the last two pigs. When Bomb goes off, this sends debris directly into the top planet pushing your score even higher. I can verify this because before I started trying it this way, I had 92k. After going underneath, I added 6k to my score.
Thanks for all your help, E-Star and AA! I appreciate it very much.

Also agree with @rdnzlrips82 ‘s analysis of what your points should be afterward (55k+ with 2 pigs left or 60k+ with one pig) and the direction of the second shot (underneath). He is also brilliant. Only thing I can add is that for the second shot, try to hit a spot on the planet that is fairly clear of debris and detonate on impact., rather than letting the bird explode on its own. Impact detonation seems to shoot debris off the planet more forcefully, resulting in more destruction on the top planet as well as the other stuff in the surrounding space.

After trying the E-star first shot several times and ending up with a debris field blocking any second shot, I adjusted my aim to just below the spoke on the lower left that points directly at the sling, detonating as the bird reaches the planet. This consistantly yields scores in the 55-60k range after shot one and leaves the two pigs on the lower right planet. For my second shot, I alternate between @e-star‘s approach and @rdnzlrips82‘s depending on the distribution of debris on that planet, aiming to hit where debris is thinnest, detonating as soon as I hit the surface to launch remaining debris into other planets/floating asteroids.

After spending more time than I care to admit working on this level today, I’ve figure out a few things.

First, I had very good results with both the shot described by @e-star and with the shot described by @burbman. In fact, in terms of points, I think they are both about equal.

Second, a both @burbman and @halliginsb suggest the second shot should be where there is thin debris. On the other hand, I found it preferable to aim for the debris to destroy it when BB detonates. In fact, to get higher scores I found that i needed a big pile of debris to destroy after the first shot (and I tried placing my second shot in the middle of it) AND I needed to send debris into the other planet/asteroids. Ultimately, I got my highest score by aiming my second shot just inside the gravity field above the left planet, but that was because I was trying to land where I had a big debris pile on the right side of the bottom planet.

Finally, for scores above 95,000, I found I really needed at least 60K points after the first bird (assuming two pigs remain on the bottom planet).

I hope this is helpful to someone even though this challenge is just about in the history books.
