We have known since the calendar turned to 2012 that the next episode of Angry Birds Seasons would revolve around Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon. Rovio was very non-discrete about this, announcing it in their “Happy New Year” video (click to see our original “Coming Soon” post). While there are still questions about which level update will land next (feel free to take our poll), Rovio has just released the official “Year of the Dragon” teaser video, seen below.
Now, let us note the two most important things. First, it appears that the episode will indeed be called “Year of the Dragon”. And second, and most importantly, the update will be landing on January 20, so keep your eyes peeled! A quick disclaimer: We are not responsible if the update does not land on your particular device on the 20th.

It is currently unknown because it isnt realeased yet but it probably will be similar, due to the pics seen in the angry birds seasons pc folder :)
do we get 15 or 30 levels in one shot this time or one level per day (the offical CNY holidays last for 7 days and even up to 15 days for some manufacturing entities)??

Unknown at the moment, although I would assume it would be all in one go, given as the last world was a calendar-style one. That’s only a guess though! As to the number of levels – who knows! :)
It’s going to be 30 levels and maybe some bonus levels. No update has 15 unless the chapter is split into 2 update.This will 100% no happen with a ABS update, ABR & ABO have in the past.
What about Hogs and Kisses, Go Green, and Easter? Those were 15+3.
No it’s not, It was just my guess as many of use AB Fans guess on what will happen with future update. ABR & ABO are the only ones hat have chapters split in 15 level updates.

Even if it is three 15 level boards you will be able to play them all with this update…granted you at least one star the previous level. AB Seasons in rumored to hit on Fri. Jan. 20…Can’t wait!!
I just think that Rovio has had enough time to develop 30+ episodes for this update. The 15+3 updates were fun but a big disappointment when you can get 3 stars in one day.
Is there a reason why abs gets updated so fast and why abo so slow.
Only 15-30 levels, instead of conceptually creating 45 maybe.
And right now, i think there is have to be considered the Game Center issue
And because of that, i wonder, maybe Rovio will release ABO 2, or some kind of sequel in a different app?
That’s not clear. Logic would suggest no, since one would not update ABo to v2.0.0 without the intention of moving forward within the existing app.

I don’t think they will make an Angry Birds original 2. We can just play the game without new achievements, right? That was the issue between Angry Birds and gamecenter

When it’s Friday in some places, this does not mean that the update will be there already. It must be Friday in Finland as well.

I think the comic will come out as the update comes out. If I remember right one update in the past had the comic come out a few hours after the update, not 100% sure thou.
