Angry Birds Seasons Winter Wonderham Level 1-20 Walkthrough

Angry Birds Seasons Winter Wonderham level 1-20 was first available on Thursday, December 20th, 2012. The 3-star threshold today is quite low — actually a bit surprising — so our strategy is pretty straightforward. Send Pink birds straight ahead, keeping them middle-to-high on the tower you are attacking. This will ensure that her bubbles will be able to lift the blocks and bring them crashing to the ground. Using three birds to clear the level should guarantee 3-stars, unless your damage is very minimal. The score in the video below is 91,650.

Bonus! Our Winter Wonderham level 1-20 Mighty Eagle walkthrough is live as well!

If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments, as that's what the leaderboards are for.

Pink Bubble Bird to slot between first two towers. Should destroy most.
Second Bird to middle of rubble at right towers.
3 Stars – 78,790 (First try)

By Westmiller

Both shots need to be high arcs, in order to slightly separate the pair of towers and fall near the middle. Pink Bubbles didn’t do much good when it landed in the open space between towers two and three.
3 Stars – 84,200

By Westmiller

Slightly better destruction putting first Pinkie in the slot between third and fourth towers FIRST: a very high and long arc to get there.
(Destruction may bump the second tower and open the slot to a gap.)
Second bird into the slot between first and second towers should clear the scene.

It is possible to just directly slam your way through the lower ice from left to right, using all four birds. However, I haven’t been able to get much above 85k with that strategy.

I don’t have a very specific strategy, but I think the best approach is to work left to right and try to pick up as many of the stones as possible. They seem to be absolutely essential for higher scores. I’m at 99k on a three-birder right now, but there’s a whole lot more to be found, as the current top scores on the level indicate.

Profile photo of AustinRHLRank: Fling King with 4530 points

Okay, here’s an actual 100k+ strategy:

1. Fire the first bird below horizontal, breaking the lower of the two ice squares at the front of the first structure. Activate so that the bird bubbles up immediately after impact; hopefully, this will lift the two stone pieces up and to the left, allowing most of the ice to smash. I can get about 27k with this shot, but it isn’t easy.

2. Fire the second bird so that it hits the remaining part of the first structure a little above the red present, knocking over the tower while the bird falls down to self-activate at the stones at the base. You should smash a lot of material for 60k+.

3. Fire the third bird low, hopefully nestling it among some debris just at the left edge of the base of the right structure (again, right next to the stones). This will lift the stones in such a way as to push the whole structure off the edge and pop all pigs.

4. Usually, it will be worth more than 10k to fire the remaining bird and again pick up the remaining stones. The level often times out very quickly, though, so you have to be ready to shoot as the collapse from the third bird is still in progress.

It turns out that there are several variants of the first shot, but they’re all difficult. You can aim at the top block or the bottom block or somewhere in between, and you don’t even have to break either one, but you have to activate at EXACTLY the right instant in order to get the desired effect.

I finally got 109k just now, a little differently from what I described. The first two shots were the same, but the third shot I initially described is just too difficult. Instead, I shot the bird into the Santa-hat pigs in the right structure, which lifted the ice and wood out of the way so that the fourth bird was able to nestle in just to the left of the present and lift three stones, destroying a ton of debris. This is a significantly easier method; thanks to @gerdl987 for the inspiration.

Incidentally, the stones do just as much damage to the ice on the way up as they do on the way down!

Rank: Shooter with 765 points
By Rob48 (@rob48)

You don’t need to break the ice square. Just aim at the lower square and inflate the bubbles a microsecond before impact. Lifting the stone blocks is the important part – they will smash the ice on their own. Same with the second shot – if you can, just aim at the stone and lift from the base to topple the tower.

You have to wing it a bit, looking at what is left after each shot to find the best placement for the next one, it’s usually worth a try whatever it looks like. Stella will hit the ground, do a little bounce into the the two ice blocks at the bottom of the first tower, at which point you manually activate her bubbles taking out the ice blocks and the concrete below. With a little luck, she’ll take out the whole left side. After that, it’s working left to right to try and take out as much ice and concrete as possible. Toss Stella to the ground maybe 1/4 away from the base of 1st tower – activate her manually when she rises up to the bottom horizontal concrete bar. Most of the time this will lift the concrete block as well with the ice/glass and destroy the 1st tower area. Then toss 2nd bird towards the bottom present – a lot of destruction on most tries (sometimes it does flub though). Then on to wipe out the other two towers. I went from 83k up to 110k gradually with each replay. Still working on more points of course. I did have more consistent lifts of the first tower using the Bounce approach though.

Welcome to the “The Mayans Can’t Be Wrong PAT Liquidation Sale!”

First up is “The Easy Breezy 3* Strat.” This one offers a quick and easy 3* method for those of you lucky enough to not be obsessive compulsive, score hungry flingers out there. This one is fully zoomed in. I came up with it within the first 10 plays of the level.

Bird #1: There should be a little star located near the notch on the left sling arm. Pull the bird down and back until the sling strap completely covers that star. When you get there, slightly inch your finger to the left until you can barely see a bit of that star. When you get it there, release the bird. This puts her in the middle of the right structure, splitting the structure in two. Let her fall as deep as possible and blow her bubbles by herself.
Bird #2: Pull the bird straight down. Then, pull to the left until there is about enough space between the bird and the sling base to fit a vertical ice plank. Release the bird. This puts her in the middle of the left structure with the same result as your first shot. Let her fall and blow bubbles by herself. This shot should clear the level for you. If it doesn’t, the last two birds are bonus birds for 20k. If not…
Bird #3: Use your judgment and take out whatever is necessary for you to achieve a level free of pigs.
Bird #4: 10k

Next up is the “Migraine Inducing, Score Hungry Strat.” It took me the better part of the day to lock this one down. Which would explain the headache I have had most of the day. I played this strat fully zooomed in.

Bird #1: Pull the sling to complete horizontal. No pull down, ever so slightly, and count 5-7 clicks. Stop there and release the bird. A lot needs to happen on this shot. You must break the bottom hollow ice square and blow the bubbles as soon as it does. This takes some weight off of the stone plank and allows it to be lifted. You should end up between 25-28K. Although, 18k is acceptable. You must also make sure the two vertical ice rectangles are open for attack. Especially the top one.
Bird #2: This shot needs to break through the top ice rectangle. You need to blow the bubbles as soon as it does. This causes the structure to tip and takes enough weight off of the stone plank to become part of bubbles. Another key to this shot is; you want it to damage the vertical ice plank that is guarding the two little pigs. It’s not necessary, but it’s helpful.
Bird #3: You want this one to go through the top of the vertical ice plank guarding the pigs. You also want the bird to go as far down and to the right as possible. This should clear the way for the last shot.
Bird #4 You want to aim this one at the blue present. This shot is often where the magic happens. Let the bird get to the right and blow the bubbles when it gets the rightmost hollow, stone square.
I got scores ranging from 100k to my current score using this strat.

Well, I believe that wraps it up. Thanks for listening. See you all tomorrow!

@CyborgRipsy – thank you so much for taking the time to post your strats; your 2, 3 & 4 bird ”Migraine Inducing, Score Hungry Strat” together with @ssi131‘s 1st bird ”Avian Bounce’ technique, has enabled me to boost my own personal score, which in itself was proving rather difficult and frustratingly annoying due to the premature scoring aspect within this level :))))

@kathy Click=One movement of the sling strap. If you move the bird slightly up or down, you will see alight variations in the shape of the sling strap. Each movement is “a click.” Since you have that new phone, this should be easier. Just pull straight back to where there are no little creases or bumps in the sling strap. Then pull the bird up very slowly. And I mean slowly. Each slight variation in the strap is considered a click. An additional clue, there should be a slight squiggle right in the middle of the strap for this shot. There will be no other kinks in the sling strap at all.

@kathy – you must excuse the ‘Borg unit. Apparently he was coded by some former military types, possibly a special forces hack, given the overwhelming attention to detail. Very simply, in military speak, the term “click” (spelled with a “c” instead of a “k”) is used when sighting-in a weapon, such as a rifle. On most weapons, one “click” equals one second of arc, or — in other words, one inch of distance at one hundred yards. So, moving the site adjustments of the rifle “one click” will change the point of impact one inch for a target 100 yards away, two inches for a target 200 yards away, and so forth. The term comes from the clicking-sound made by the sight adjustment knobs as they are turned. Because the stock slingshots we’ve been issued aren’t prone to making an audible click, your own personal R2D2 unit is asking us to imagine we’ve got real noisemakers. Thankfully he didn’t confuse “clicks” with “klicks,” which is military slang for kilometer. Five to seven kilometers would be way off target, I’m afraid. Aloha.

Haven’t read it anywhere yet but twice I have had the highest tower self destruct to the right. The first time it took out all but the first tower leaving two small pigs (then of course I managed to flubb the second shot) the next time it took out all but 4 pigs. Has anyone else experienced the self destruct?

@windwalker, The self-destruct happened to me once but the destruction was not much for me. Also none of the pigs died except for the middle-sized one at the top.

Yes, the first time I played this level the tower started wobbling and eventually fell to the right, at around 10.000 points. The new situation didn’t result in a very high score. A one time only event!

Sure, sure. Thanks a lot, @leggy. Apparently you’ve never heard the expression, “early birds always open the can of worms.” By posting the 3-star minimum so quickly and talking about the so-called “instability” of this level, you set into motion what can only be described as a conspiracy theorist’s dream. You guessed it, Rovio has people everywhere, and they won’t hesitate to use their mind-control minions to wipe clean anything they refer to as “bird droppings.” AngryBirdsNest is no exception. Sure, the admins may seem all nice and helpful. But believe me, behind the scenes it’s a whole different story. That’s all I can reveal right now. As I tap out these last few words, I can hear the clink-clink-squawk… clink-clink-oink… Oh no, they are coming for me. Save yourself by saving the information about the anomalies in a safe place. They have ways of making you… squawk! Alohaaaaaaaaaaah.

I worked from left to right… first bird half way of the left structre picking up the square stone block and making the left side collaps to the left. Second bird to the second part of the left tower, near the present. Only the right structure left. Third bird with a high lob in the middle of the structure, picking up the left part of the right structure. Last bird with the same lob picking up the stones at the bottom and killing the remaining pigs.
I got 115360.

This has to be the worst level EVER for premature calculation.

4 times not – count then F*O*U*R times – I have been on for a really good 4 bird score, only to be thwarted by premature calculation.

I am sending the last pink bird in to get damn near total destruction, she pops and BLAMMO, before things have even finished rising, I get the score screen and a 3 star score but not the really high score I was hoping for.

Black Bird up and over the tree, so that it kills the pig. Explosion took out lower pigs, and caused a fair amount of damage to left arc remains.
White bird on an arch, so that it comes down at middle of arches, drop egg, and take out far right tree. Black Bird on high arch to get onto far right cavity under arch. Still room for many more points. I left a fair amount of debris left.
