We were the first to announce that a new Angry Birds Seasons update was on the horizon. Well, the morning mist has lifted and on the horizon we see a strange new substance? Water!!! We are happy to report that the latest Angry Birds Seasons update, named Piglantis (v2.4.0) is now available for iOS, PC, Mac, Playbook, and Android via Google Play (Android Market) and the Amazon Appstore! As you might expect, things are a bit different in this aquatic paradise. We’ve outlined what we know so far below:
Update for iOS: A bug fix has been released as v2.4.1.
- 30, yes 30, new aquatic levels! If we are looking for an actual “Seasons” theme, I would have to say it’s Summer again. Contrary to some guesses, all 30 levels are available right now (in other words, it’s not Advent-style). Our walkthrough videos are live.
- Golden Eggs! One Golden Egg hidden in-game, and the 3-star bonus this time around is a Big Seashell! If you need help, check out our Complete Angry Birds Seasons Golden Eggs Guide.
- Buoyancy! In the wide-open sea, you can now shoot in and out of water! The birds are buoyant enough that they will be pulled back to the surface of the water, as are wooden blocks and sardine cans. However, those bad piggies, stone blocks, and even ice/glass blocks are a bit too heavy and sink to the ocean floor. The poor piggies go pop when they hit the floor.
- No new achievements for iOS. This is expected, since there is really no space for Seasons achievements points.
- Pro Tip! Treasure chests are worth 1,000 points, but they are quite challenging to break.
- Amazing Alex, which we have more info on here, has made it’s way into Angry Birds. If you tap the icon it will take you to the Amazing Alex Facebook page.

Great new levels and type of gameplay, but I was really hoping as I opened the Android app after the update that the Mighty Eagle would be waiting to be purchased. #tryingnottobegreedy
Well one thing I figured out after trying and trying–Yellow Bird will power up while IN the water. It took me forever to 3 star the very first level until I realized that little tidbit. I don’t know if that has been mentioned yet in the comments.
Yep I just saw that somebody else mentioned the power up. And I’m doing this while trying to look busy at work. Shame on me :)

Very fun gameplay. It takes a little getting used to!
Played the first few levels and what a great concept. Provides a new dimension to AB. The water provides another environment to challenge us in the traditional theme of birds and pigs. The ME also seems to be back. First game, one launch at the post and wow 100%. This is going to be fun.
when i played the first level i thought it would be really hard because of level one’s dificuty, but after i thought piglantis is amazingly fun
The pigs look kinda different in appearance.
Has anyone figured out what happens if you send a WB underwater? There was one level on which I thought it might be useful, but I kept detonating too early? What about the green bird? OB, red, and bomb all work well underwater, but you have to figure out where to aim them so they come up in the right place.
Just realized that this would be a great new tutorial for Slim to make, when he has time ; )

White bird operates as usual – egg seems to go straight down and bird goes off on the usual angle. There are a few levels where you can use it.
2-10 is one of them – I’ll find the others I’ve seen.
You can use the white bird’s power in 2-4 also, although it really doesn’t get you anything.
But it can be used to get the golden egg.

Boomerang bird is the coolest underwater. Best in 2-3.
I bet the PC update will come before Mac and/or Playbook :).
Hopefully they all will update soon. I’ve played a few levels on my brother’s ipod touch, and I love the buoyancy concept so much. What I love is that even I shoot the birds into the water, as long as they don’t touch the obstacles, their powers are still there :).
I second that! The only reason that i bet on it, because 90% chance that Rovio will release PC update after Android and iOS :).

Symbian?
Yep, i guess they do forget Symbian, because Symbian haven’t ABSp yet, no Trophy room, and no Surf’n’Turf.
Space is not a correct argument. Rovio specifically said that Symbian was not on the initial Space release and gave no promises it would ever land there.
I can accept no Space on symbian, but can’t accept no update.

Surprised they never updated the visuals and menus to resemble ABO.
I’m glad though; I think the older is much better, and I’m still sad they got rid of the victory music in ABO.

I thought this would be awesome after Level 1 – but after that, it’s mostly just the same and there isn’t much need to use the water at all – most of it is just like any other AB level and doesn’t require the need to use the underwater-ness at all.

I think this update is one of the best Rovio has ever released.

Why Piglantis included in Season edition, and not in the Classic? In the Classic version has a cave, this topic is more suitable place

Because Rovio wanted it for Angry Birds Seasons. It is a themed summer season update.
I completely agree. Of course this is a summer episode, and as such it could be included to AB Seasons. But there is absolutely no relation between summer and Atlantis. That’s why Atlantis fits only for AB original and not for AB Seasons. Atlantis is neither a season nor a holiday nor something that is celebrated.
Okay, now I see a relation between Piglantis and summer. Piglantis is the destination where the birds vacation this summer. But you can only see this relation if you watch Rovio’s video or see the photos on Rovio’s facebook page. Within the game it’s not so clear. And nevertheless it is not a typical “seasons” episode.

The new update is very challenging. Adding water to the picture is a completely new dynamic to take advantage.

:( … Anyone not receive the update yet? I’m in Illinois & haven’t gotten the update … it shows in Google when I go looking for the game as if I haven’t installed it but when I go to my apps it doesn’t show update available but the graphic has changed to Piglantis … Anyone else having this problem? Or any ideas on how to fix?
Best bet is to restart your device and try again. There’s no regional blocks in the US.
& another weird thing – when I open seasons & pause a level it shows the Piglantis update so I clicked on it – it took me to Google Play Store & shows Open app – doesn’t give me anyway to update, just takes me back to seasons… Help

I haven’t heard any issues. May want to contact Rovio directly, or move the app between SD and phone.

Anyone else having problems with the Amazon App Store on Android? It shows that Piglantis is available but I can’t seem to force the app store to update.
I have spent the last 15 minutes trying to get my Kindle Fire to update the app but I can’t get the new levels either. Even the Amazon description says Piglantis is available but my Fire doesnt find an update. Let me know if you get it to work! Can’t wait to play it!
For the Amazon update, you need a wifi connection. This is standard for Amazon for any package greater than 20 Mbytes in size. It won’t let you download on a 3G/4G connection.
