One strategy for Cherry Blossom level 1-1 is to fire the Boomerang bird backwards just above horizontally, spinning him backwards immediately. This shot is very challenging, but with a little luck you can clear the level with a single bird. Happy flinging!

114,110 – one bird. Fire the boomerang bird almost straight forward into the three upright wood pieces with two pigs and it should take out the whole level if you hit it just right.
Great strategy. Try to keep bird below the horizontal boards, less resistance and more destruction. Ty Trep!
Thanks Trep, I had tried the green bird there and gave up on him. I previously had 100,320, with trying green to the top, then the red into that wood area. Now have 113,350, coming back to this method.

Boomerang bird straight into middle trench. Setting off TNT. 113k
Seems like everyone is settling on the one bird score. I reverse boomerang the first bird into the wood igniting the TNT. Then before level times out, launch big red into top structure toppling that down onto everything left below. Only had 3 or 4 stone blocks left. I think 122K-124K is possible.

I used same shot as everyone else… Boomer straight into the TNT.
Then quickly shot big red at the lowermost leftmost stone block for 16k more damage, 6 more than had I not shot bog red.
As zebrajames said, 120k to 124k. Totally possible
To be clear:
1. I don’t reverse the boomerang bird. Straight through the wood to the TNT he goes.
And
2. By lower left stone block I mean the lower left stone block on the top left structure… The one to the left of the sushi roll.

I came up with the same result. Had plateaued at 113k with one bird and saw too much material left to destroy. 2 birds is a better way to go.
I should have read this sooner. You are so right loox! Here I was fooling around and figured it out today. (on my own I thought) Only ten days after you posted this method. I have to agree that 124,000+ is possible as there was a little left after Big Red cleaned up for my score of 123,880. You have helped me before. Thank you for that.
I used a similar strat as zebrajames to get 122k but I just fired the first bird straight and low into the hole.

You don’t need to fire the boomerang bird backwards. You can fling it forwards into the gap. Use Big Bro to clean out more debris.

Me too. I lobbed the first bird forward into into the TNT, then tossed the red into the stones up top. It nicely rolled down and nearly everything ended up getting destroyed. I was lucky.

I’m sorry to say that in my case, the suggestion made by @AMslimfordy to fire Greenie backwards and then forward unfortunately never raised my score, as a matter of fact I found that just plain launching towards the opening was the best way to score higher using only 1 Bird. I also tried as suggested above by other players using Big Bro to clean up, but the score accumulated by the clean up never exceeded 8k, which in turn means that those using that method are throwing away 2k by using Big Bro.
