Our strategy for Angry Birds Seasons Back to School level 1-17 is to lob the pink bird at a very high arch so she comes down to the right of the top left spire. Trigger her bubbles before she hits so as to lift up as many stones as possible. As they fall they should detonate the TNT and take out the pigs on the left hand side. Now mop up the right hand side with the next pink bird. The score in the video is 79,700.

I reversed the shots described in the text walkthrough.
First PB to the right, taking out 4 pigs.
Second PB to the top of the tower and it happened to pick up the TNT, which blew up on the way up.
I have played this level a gazillion times and here’s what I’ve determined…
Send first Pink Bird in a high arch to bounce off the far right empty wooden triangle and then she’ll land just under the last cement triangle and slanted cement plank and then tap screen which will completely take out the whole right side. Here’s a screenshot:

Now the second shot will make or break your score. It’s a very hard shot, IMO…You want to send her in another high arch, only slightly lessened but you need to clear to front structure’s wood top so that she lands near the first cement triangle. You want to tap her as she’s approaching so that she takes with her the thin wooden plank and hopfully a notebook or two for extra points. The wood plank supports the first structure and if she “yanks” it out, the structure will fall forward (right) and topple and ignite tnt. You also want to try and get atleast one of the notebooks to go with her. If you can suck them both up, even better ;-) I found you really need to get to atleast one of the notebooks for higher scores.
I actually got a one birdie for a score of 88350 with the same first shot…debris flew up and broke the supporting wooden plank in first structure. Here’s a screenshot:

@lesleyg: I have zero problems with the first shot you described, but the second never has worked for me. I’ve yet to pull the plank, but I’ve destroyed it many times and the left tower acts as if it’s going to lean to the right and collapse but always stops. I finally broke 80k and that was my goal. Now I can say goodbye to this level. :)
By the way, nice score and good strat even if I couldn’t get it to work just right.

I realize it doesn’t really do all that much for you but hope it helps some. In this screenshot I didn’t get any of the notebooks so the scores only 85500 but it’s the same trajectory I used for my score. Gl going forward ;-)
@lesleyg Well, I took a couple days off from this level, but decided to try your strat once more, and I was surprised to pull it off on my second try this evening. The second screen shot you posted helped! Thanks for your help! :)

TY yet again @lesleyg was so close to a 1 birda ,but had a nice 2 birda with it all going right with the lifting of theplank,and notebooks :)
Thanks @lesleyg I, too, was unable to replicate that second shot, but while I was trying for it, I overshot, bounced back into the notebooks and activated Ms Pinky when she was about at the bottom of the top notebook (and touching the side). She grabbed the whole stack and picked up the entire right side of the structure, which accomplished just what you said…Thanks again
Not sure what I think about this new bird, but I do know what I feel about this level. Boo!!
One-birder with the shot similar to the first one in the walkthrough video (except I let the bird land near the top of he first triangle). TNT exploded and all pigs were gone.
@sal9 or anyone else, there is an issue. one the page of the ABS walkthroughs you will see “Back to school” but it has the picture ot trick or treat

I had 75,500 the first time & it only gave 2 stars. Did the reverse (right then left) and got 79,440, which got the 3 stars.
This is one of those levels where I’m just goofing, since I’ve got time to kill, being against a loading dock. That means I got a very lucky 1 bird shot, getting even the TNT to detonate, taking out the left side, and popping all the pigs. Now, do I pay even scant attention to what I’m doing? Why, of course not fellow reader!
Thus, ignorantly emboldened, I try to get the skill shot @moonsabre is talking about. Does it help me, or improve my score, even just a smidgen? Are you kidding? Do I really need to supply the answer? No, because this is contrary night, wherein, if I try for the killer shot, my score actually drops with each utterly useless repitition.
You’d think I’d have learned by now, to avoid the vainglorious, but nnnnoooooo………..!
BTS 1-17, 90420 w/2 Birds..
1st shot – Highly arched p/b to the far side gap and “bubbled-up” to ideally destroy the entire right side making sure that the grey foundation’s slanted back slope is free of any debris..

2nd shot – Highly arched p/b again with almost the exact same trajectory less 2 or 3 pixels to ideally bounce off the grey foundation’s slanted back slop into the “ABC” books or above them with only one goal, “bubble-up” and twist the horizontal wood beam, dislodging the structure and allowing the TNT to blow everything to smithereens! GO SHOOTERS!!..

98550 w/1. Fun one for you to try out @marc987. I know how much you like those skill shots. The idea is to hit the corner of the rightmost area, bounce back to the \ right underneath the stone triangle and tap BEFORE it hits so that it lifts all of the stones. They should drop mostly directly down causing the explosion. Here’s the general idea of the shot below.

The elegance of the strategy and the perfection of the shot leaves me speechless @moonsabre ! I actually managed to one bird it once using your rebound shot but was really unlucky with the destruction, hitting a 83k.
Couple of tips that might help others, as @moonsabre said, you really need the rebound to be truly at the top of the diagonal beam, it seems to be the key to be able to lift the horizontal stone that sits on top of the horizontal wood (that kinda supports the right part of the left structure). If you look at the first screenshot from moonsabre the horizontal stone I’m talking about is the one in the blue baloon. Lifting this one is key it seems or you won’t get the TNT to explode.

I have had two 1-birders like this too. The falling stones break the horizontal wood plank, exploding TNT and debris thrown right taking out right structure and all pigs. Scores of 91k and 85k.

Not a high score, but just something interesting. While trying to improve my score, I played this level, what seems like, several hundred times. Not sure if it’s my phone telling me to give it a rest or just a funny little glitch, but one of the weirdest things happened. After flinging the first bird, one of the triangular blocks just floated in mid air. If you watch the short vid, you can see it. (I apologize in advance for the less than fugi like quality of the vid)
I have played (way too) many hours of all versions, but not sure I have seen anything like this.

I tried the shot @moonsabre described, but I just give up. I got a 2 birdie with the same shot he descibes, only the first bird didn’t lift everything up. I send the second bird in the same way and boom! all was blown up and I got 90700, which is fine for now, maybe I will return to try the skillshot of the one birdie :)

@E-Star, ever since I read your strategy, I’ve managed to destroy the right-most structure with my first shot every time. When I was trying to destroy it, I couldn’t, now I can’t avoid it. Go figure. I still have a good score
