With all this talk about Angry Birds Space, no one was expecting this…
Rovio specifically said that Angry Birds Rio was not finished, and we now have proof. A bonus update (v1.4.3 / v1.4.4) is now available for iOS and Android via the Amazon Appstore and Android Market, with other platforms coming soon. From the original release of Rio, we all hoped and prayed that hunting down 90 fruit would yield some sort of reward, and Rovio has responded!
PC Update: v1.4.4 has landed on PC!
Mac Update: v1.4.4 has landed on Mac!
Playbook Update: v1.4.4 has landed for Playbook, a major update which also includes the 30 levels of Smuggler’s Plane.
This update includes:
- 6 new challenging levels, one for each episode that
has 90/90 stars!Correction: It seems that you simply need to pass all 30 levels of the episode, not necessarily earn all 90 stars. - Another 6 new levels, one for each episode that has 15/15 fruit!
- The walkthrough page are online and we’re starting on the video walkthroughs.
- The Trophy Room leaderboard is live and ready for your scores.
- This is still not the end of Rio!. That’s right. According to the iOS release, there will still be more updates in the future.
We will continue to update this post as our pages come online and as the update lands on other platforms. A special thanks to @rasmith8357 for being the first to tip us off about this, and for helping us out immensely with imagery.

Small bug…if u hit the back arrow twice when in one of these new levels you get a screen with the 12 levels as numbers like the other levels but u can’t open them…and there’s a 36 on the bottom…level 36??? Hmmmm.

“36” is the number of stars you can earn on that page. (Not sure if this is the intended meaning, but just something I observe)

I visit every 15min the App-Store but ther is no update :(:(:(
I downloaded and installed the new update of ri..but cannot find anything that says trophy room.. when I hit tje awards thong there are a bunch of new blamk things there..how do I get to it..also does it have to do with I lost all my progress? The last episode on thd main screen I have is smugglers plane:(..
You need to complete the episode or obtain all fruit in an episode to unlock the level.
We named the episode Trophy Room. It is not official, but Rovio said they liked the name.
The episode is the levels under “Awards”.

what a surprise by rovio.this one month has been very good for me with space coming up, Facebook new 15 levels, cherry blossom and 100 int’l centuries by my favorite player Sachin Tendulkar.(sachin is a indian cricketer and a legend of cricket,google it)

Sorry to say it, but I think iOS users have been spoiled. To each his own, as they say. The only rough thing is that there is no Mighty Eagle for Android OS. Rovio stated they are working on the ME for other platforms, but they would not provide any release dates. After seeing how many new games and/or updates they have released/releasing, it sort of explains why. AB Rio update 1.4.3 with Trophy Room from Amazon Digital Services plays super on the Kindle. Thus, I shall continue to use the Kindle. I have checked Google Play, formerly Android Marektplace. On March 19, the latest Rio version is not there, as I also have a smartphone utilizing an Android OS. Slim…..is there a date stamp on the posts?? This is not my first visit to AB Nest, but I am new to posting in this forum. AB Nest rocks, and I could not have obtained some 3 star levels without it. Thank you!!

Rovio is indeed working on bringing the Mighty Eagle to all relevant platforms, including Android Market (force of habit). Rovio very rarely provides release dates since they very rarely know the specific date. AB:Space is an obvious exception, but it’s rare.
Yes, posts are timestamped in the top-left corner, but this does not appear if you are not signed into the site. The same is true for comments: It appears after the username, but not if you are not signed in.
Alternatively, you can see the update logs to see which updates landed where and when.

I look forward to the Trophy (catchy name) level walktnroughs, although I must admit I already obtained 3 stars on them. Hey, we can all use some help to boost our scores, right? Well, most of us could use it, FujiToast appears to need no help, as they are a black belt of the Angry Birds world.
Haha, agreed. We are actually going to get the walkthrough pages online shortly, even though we will have no videos until it lands for iOS. Android users are welcome — neigh, encouraged — to submit their 3-star strategies on those pages. It would likely help out other Android users AND Fuji.

Just saw the walkthrough pages, too bad my Kindle is at home. I posted my strategy for two of the levels that I remember best. Will post more later, provided that the same approach has not been posed by then.
Off topic question to Slim or anyone else who may know, thanks in advance. I just received a new iPad (3rd generation) and I backed up the apps from my original iPad to the new one. The apps transferred just fine, the data however, did not. Probably 80% of the stars, etc. copied to the new iPad but not all of them. I realize that this isn’t an earthshattering issue but since we are all waiting for Rio and Space, maybe someone has a few tips on how to get 100% of the data to transfer. Again, thanks.

Do you still have the old iPad? If so, our method is pretty good. I use it to transfer from iPad to my iPhone.

(Note 1: I know there is a “Blu-and-Jewel” in the Balloon level, but they do not appear in our bird list, so it’s OK.)

I am signing off soon for today, but I wanted to advise players that there are already some good tips from a few people for AB Rio on your walkthrough pages for Rio ver. 1.4.3 (Amazon version-yeah Amazon and Rovio). I was one who whipped out my Kindle again after I promised the family I’d put the birds to rest for the day. I tried to do my best, please be kind and patient, as I’m new to all this kind of stuff. I suppose I’m either a fuzzy bear who has been in hibernation waaaay too long, or I’m a dinosaur. However, I have 3 stars in Surf and Turf on AB Facebook, and I have an avatar through them (AB-Facebook). I even Twitter on rare occasions.
Two quick questions:
How does one use or have an avatar on AB Nest? Dumb question, I know, sorry.
What do you mean by the “Almanac,” and how are birds names different there versus your “Bird List”?

1) We have directions in the forum to help you change your avatar.
2) I think the almanac is all set, but it’s a listing we have for the birds that appear in each level of each Angry Birds app.
3) The names aren’t really different. We just don’t have Blu & Jewel as an option.

Another reason to hate Amazon. OT I know, but for some time I have been waiting for their “Kindle Active Content” to be released in Europe. I have spoken directly to the author of one of the titles that is available through KAC, he has informed me that they have WORLDWIDE licensing for the 20+ game books in his series. So that is not the issue.
If they can’t get KAC active worldwide, I hold out little hope for the AAAS.
If you are reading this Amazon – The United States of America is only ONE country – NOT the entire world.
(And I am ashamed at a European company (looking at you Rovio) leaving their home countries out in the cold!)
I know this is off topic, but you know how on the main screen of ABO, (with the birds flying by and the PLAY button) if you tap on the birds in the front they squawk?

I’ve seen that. It looks like Rovio is returning to that theme though. In AB:Space, you can pop the pigs’ bubbles on the “Play” screen.

-For Amazon, press the menu button on your Android device. Next, tap My Apps. You’ll see all of your apps that you downloaded. Then, tap the update available tab. There should be a ABR update.
-For Google Play, you need to wait until the update is available.

I also have an Android and can’t get the update. I have restarted my phone and checked several times on the update screen and nothing has shown up to update. I am bummed. I can’t figure it out.

Hi….I have a question a little off the subject hope u don’t mind…..but I was just looking at the leaderboards on Gamecentre & I was wondering how it is possible for an odd few people to have outrageous scores like 9,000,000,000,000,000 etc….obviously it’s hacked but how do they do it & why would Gamecentre allow it?? Any word on Rio update yet? Thanks!

If you wanted to, I have no doubt that you can either google it, or simply go to YouTube. As to why they allow it, Game Center seems to be unmoderated, so exploiting a program hack happens all the time.
Speaking for myself, I don’t understand why anyone would bother, really. I mean, what’s the point of putting up a fraudulent and inflated score? How can one be proud of that which one has not earned? Oh well, I guess I’m just too old school in this area…
According to the post above you, Rio was just updated in Game Center. I’m kind of interested, as I also have an iPad, in addition to my Xoom, and I’m curious as to how different it might be.

Usually the “soon-to-be updated games” icon in GC flickered once before an update..
