Angry Birds Rio Timber Tumble Walkthrough Level #10

Our strategy for Timber Tumble Level #10 is to fling the Boomerang bird straight ahead into the nearby log, pushing it down the bridge to the right. When it reaches the right side, it will fall down onto the lower bridge, destroying the tower back to the left. Either snipe the TNT or topple the right tower to finish the level. The score in the video below is 156,370.

Fire boomerang over first structure and turn back aiming to hit the stone under the wooden block .This is when things get frustrating. You need the wooden block to be pushed inwards but stay intact long enough for the stone to drop but not fall all the way down,it has to roll right, along the rope leading to the right hand structure. It should then smash the vertical glass and stone leaving the TNT box exposed. Meanwhile you should have pretty good clearance over on the left. 2nd bird straight to the TNT on the right. The whole thing explodes and the stone drops down, rolling left along rope and killing and crushing anything remaining. I know the AB gods were being nice to me on this level as you can see from the screenshot I took ;) Sorry but don’t have one of the first shot as it was so good I didn’t want to jeopardise the level. This is after my 2nd shot and you can see there’s virtually nothing left.

Almost the same here, but I aimed to hit the wood block on top of the little vertical stone.

It’s a very difficult level because even if you make a perfect first shot (which is very tricky), most of the time the log has not enough power to break the vertical glass due to the long time the green bird take to die.

Perhaps exists another strategy but i have not found it yet.
Sorry for my poor english.

Actually,on replaying the level I think my aiming point was low down on the wooden block and it’s the blast from the TNT explosion that pushes the log towards the right and onto the rope. Would you agree @bonneypattycat? @bonzai I can’t remember if boomerang was in front of the rolling log but I’m thinking not for this score. I agree though, when he does get ahead the log loses momentum and can’t break through the glass. Nice score you’ve got though and don’t apologise, your English is just fine!

@JLZ-666 In your first shot, are you shooting near vertical or horizontal? both are damn hard to do, so I want to make sure I’m doing the right one. Creating a strategy using either of those is pretty impressive. :)

@bernersenn it’s almost vertical, about 1o’clock. No it’s not an easy shot and certainly not easily repeatable. I wish I could or I’d be trying for an extra 3k like @skowse! I’d love to know how he/she did it BTW?

Fire Boomer backwards, a hair above horizontal. Trigger him within 1/4 to 1/2 second. Make him hit the glass leg on the right structure, the log on top of it, or even the TNT. Two of these shots can make the log roll down the rope and break the glass. The third (boomer thru glass plank, I think) sends Boomer’s corpse flying into the glass leg, collapsing the right structure, while the log falls straight down and crushes the left structure.

Fired Boomerang backwards to hit the log resting on the glass on the left structure and dislodging the TNT so that it was resting against the hollow wooden block to its right. The log fell to the right, rolled across the bridge, broke the glass leg on the right side, dropped through the glass floor and back along the lower bridge breaking the lower glass on the left. Everything on the left fell, with the TNT exploding for good measure. The score at that stage was 119K. The second shot was a straightforward shot through the right TNT to finish everything off. Top score of 173940 for the moment but I don’t think it will last long.

Thanks @Kathy. It was a very lucky shot as previous efforts rarely saw the TNT tilt. Most of the time nothing happened to the TNT, or it fell to the left, and then to really mess things up when it did fall properly the lower rope broke as the log was midway across! I guess that’s why we all play AB, as its great when everything (finally) comes together.

Just a tip, those ropes have high point value. Rolling along one gives good damage points. Every time you break one, it’s worth about 1-2k. Break it again, get another 1-2k. Destroying both ropes could be worth 15-20k+. I don’t know any strategies to destroy them more completely, but if someone finds one, they’re getting some nice points. :)

I used the reverse boomerang on my first shot. I lined up with the head of the lowest marmoset on the left tower. This is similar to a lot of strategies that have been posted. Where I differed is in my second shot. I wasn’t worried about getting a one birder or cutting the ropes for points on my first shot. I just needed the glass on the upper middle structure to be destroyed. I discovered a way to cut the upper rope multiple times and also destroy the remaining debris at the base of the left tower with my second shot. Yes, the second shot is the power shot, not the first one. I didn’t play it long enough to perfect the shot, but want you want to happen is undercut the wood surrounding the TNT and the wood block beneath it. This causes the three blocks above the TNT to lean to the left before the TNT explodes. They get propelled to the left cutting the upper rope numerous times and continue on to the base of the left tower where they destroy additional debris. I don’t think scores will go a lot higher. There wasn’t much left when I got my 175k score. Only the TNT and a wood block on the upper left tower.

@rat9 good flinging, but what am I doing wrong here? I undercut as you explained, but get three results:
1. The TNT falls on top of the bird, the three blocks topple before the bird ‘expires’ and the TNT explodes too late
2. The TNT wedges itself between the blocks and the right structure and doesn’t explode at all
3. On the rare occasions the blocks fly majestically to the left, they land on the rope and sit there defiantly, not breaking through
Whhhiiinnnnee!!!
What trajectory are you using for the second shot?
A screenshot would be really good!

***NOTE TO ALL CHALLENGE PLAYERS***

The requirements to provide proof for an Underdog has been slightly changed.

Along with your comments in the walkthrough page of the strategy used…
Now, it is a requirement to provide a screenshot of the Tally Score Page that appears when the level ends, instead of just a picture of the score showing in the level.

Of course, if you want to provide the screenshot of the level before it times out (to demonstrate remaining debris or trajectory), that’s acceptable also.

This change is part of a continuing effort to keep the leaderboards “clean” and make the Nest enjoyable for everyone!

Happy Flinging, and Good Luck!
