One strategy for Smugglers’ Plane level 12-4 is to fire the first Yellow bird head-on into the boulder, causing its stand to topple onto the cage below. Launch Big Brother straight ahead, triggering the TNT in the middle of the level. Finally, use the next Yellow bird to level the right tower.

yb straight up to come down and smash both the first horizontal wood plank and the vertical wood plank to its right.
Big red to skim the top of the concrete ball, so the ball went into the TNT and the bird continued into the bottom left of the far tower.
Everything came down!
This is the method with which I’ve been going at it as well, although it is hard to get that right structure to collapse. If it doesn’t, three stars can still be obtained using the yellow bird into the base of it, getting you a few thousand points above the threshold :)
ended up using the same method, but it didn’t yield that many points.
back to the drawing board ;)
Launh yellow bird to hit the horizontal concrete plank of the right tower .. the tower should collape to the right.. you should end up with a score of 25k+..
next launch big brother through the left vertical wodden plank below the steel ball.. if trajetory is right, big brother will ram it’s way and detonate TNT.. score should be 100k+

Thanks psybrat – used your method and got 109k. I lost count of the number of tries when Big Red didn’t quite make it to the TNT. This time it sped up as it hit the vertical wooden block and destroyed pretty much everything. I’ve seen this happen on a numder of levels, not just Rio but orig and seasons – there doesn’t seem any pattern to it tho. Being a 45 yr old technophobe playing on my sons ‘hand me down’ ipod touch, I’ve no idea how to do a screenschot of my score but promise its geniune (only my 2nd ever top score on all AB levels and probably won’t stay there for long). Thanks again psybrat – hopefully you can get a few more points from your method – just keep it slightly under 109010 please – lol.

This method worked for me too. Best to get far right stack to topple. I got 30k once but then missed with big red :)

All I can say Mike, is keep trying. Vary your aim a little at a time. I have noticed that sometimes Big Red can cut through a level like a hot knife through butter and sometimes the smallest obstacle can stop him in his tracks.
Isn’t it amazing how that can happen? In this case, on my PC, I’ll be happy with my 90k.
Has anyone else noticed that every time you launch an awesome first shot, BIG RED never cuts through to the TNT? It’s sooooo frustrating. Think I’ll give it a rest, watch the bike races then come back.
