Angry Birds Rio Carnival Upheaval Walkthrough Level 24 (8-9)

The best strategy for Carnival Upheaval level 8-9 is to lob Blu to land between the first and second structures. This will completely topple the left tower and clear the top of the right. Loft the Yellow bird through the blocks supporting the larger marmoset, causing the right structure to collapse. If necessary, snipe the marmoset in the bottom-right with the next Yellow bird. The score in the video below is 95,650.

This level is solvable with one bird. Launch the blue bird per the walkthrough and get lots of destruction to the left, toss some wood blocks to the right, and get lucky with an unstable middle the eventually collapses.

@ericj, I also got a 1-bird doing what the video showed for the first bird, everything just collapsed! :)

Followed the video but was able to get it with 2 birds also. 101,760. I could definitely see this being able to complete with 1 lucky blue bird shot at the same place.

1. blue birds as video (might have chance to walkthrough, still trying)
2. yellow birds kill and destroy the last marmoset and wood etc….

I finally got the ‘lucky’ shot everyone else talks about. Same as video but cleared all but center two marmosets, around 60k. Then high yellow bird between marmosets and the metal bars actually came down and wiped out all the wood. 121050

I found it easier to just launch the first bird to just before the last marmoset.
Usually everything topples over with this push from the right side.

120440, and can definitely go higher with this method.

Got 111K using this method. Not sure if it works better, or I just tried it more. It pays to be patient waiting for center and left buildings to collapse, but the don’t always.

Sooooo nearly got this strat working! Aim blu so he passes as close to the right feather as possible without actually clipping it. I’ve also found that triggering the bird just before impact appears to increase damage but this might just be an illusion!

@bikkit thx for details
near the right feather and activate earlier
second low to the middle to break the wood

Thanks @bikkit for the strategy and @comex666 for the video. Was able to complete the strategy a few times but with a lower score. Used the two bolts on the left corner of the box as am aiming device for the blue bird. Had to hit the second monkey from the right side to get the sequence started. Hitting the structure between the two monkeys just did not work for me. The impact just wasn’t strong enough to start the sequence of destruction.

I shot blu to the metal above the tree. This brought down the whole 1st tower. 1st yellow bird to the roof of the house. 2nd yellow hit remaining monkeys.

I shot blue with high arch to come down left of the feathers with out touching them, for a direct hit on the triangle in the middle that sits just left of the empty square box. One bird took all monkeys down! be patient while you wait for the middle to collapse all the way. very repeatable as I must have got a one birdie at least 10 times+ ;-)

Definately not feeling the love on this level. I did as @lesleyg suggested & went for the triangle, but only got that pesky marmoset on the right about half the time, need lucky flying debris to get him. Still haven’t got the 1-bird clear either, though I’ve come very close. And yes, have patience after the 1st shot, things were stil wobbling & falling for up to 2 minutes.
The only thing I did differently was not to lob the yellow 2nd shot, I was having a lot of trouble finding the right place to aim this & not getting enough destruction. I had a pretty clear straight-ahead shot so I went in horizontal & destroyed more wood for a totally unimpressive score of 109k.
Congrats to everyone else, very nice scores!

@karen68. That far right marmoset is really frustrating! It seemed like nearly every time I would get good destruction on the left, the feathers and blocks missed that pesky guy!

I got my score with two birds, and I never was able to get the one birder, either. I cam close several times, but the middle structure is well-built! I found that how I used the second bird really depended on what I had left after the first. When I my 114K, the only marmoset that was left was the left-center one. Because if how the structure had shifted, I actually shot towards the back (near the top of the ramp) of the middle structure where there are several pieces of wood. I knew if that the marmoset would fall if it wasn’t still attached to this. In other words, it was one of those times when it made more sense to aim for debris, not the marmoset, and rely on the chain reaction.

It’s amazing to me that a level with so few options on the first shot has such variable results. Okay, I know that shouldn’t surprise me. . .

I’ve had 3 one birders but never scoring more than 109’s. I found if you get the first shot as close as possible to the feathers without touching, you usually get those pesky 2 last monkeys. If you have the two middle monks left, and a score around 60K, then high lob to split the metal bars between the two can get a little more damage while taking out those two last.

A good reference point for that first shot – don’t zoom out, pull the Bluebird back so that the seat of the slingshot is a hairswidth from wher the shorter, lighter building meets the taller, dark building in the background.
