Your primary goal in Poached Eggs level 1-5 is to hit the middle vertical stone beam as hard as possible with the first red bird so that the boulder drops down and pops all the pigs. The score in the video below is 65,010.
Note: The horizontal blocks in the video below are ice. On some platforms, and in older versions of the app, the blocks are wood.

Hi sal9, i was trying it today, then my room mate did for a bit, on fb this was played for me and the person with high score like that. when i asked them how did you get that score, they said they put the blackbird to the bottom of the concrete and it took them hours to do, when i finally got back to it today, there is no blackbird. we suspect a powerup, because between the two of us, we couldn’t even beat my 70,000 score. i tried to figure out the secret, but alas, it has left me in wonderment :)
I got 71,180 with gold sling and by hitting the glass at the top.
Line up the bottom of the red bird’s sling shot launch basket with the grey mountain shadow in the background. This aids in getting the one bird shot in the video above. The grey mountain line would go through the middle area of the basket’s bottom
Alternate strategy is to hit the small horizontal board at the top level. The stack usually falls to the left. Scores were lower but did get 3 stars. The grey line of the mountain crosses the basket top corner area.
Another strategy is to hit the top area of the tall verticle left grey left post on the bottom. This shot moved the entire structure to the right. It did fall once.
Another strategy is to hit the glass area to the left side of the rock. This produced 3 star scores. Lined up the tail feathers of the red bird with the grey line of the background mountain.
Thanks @wrw01, I’ve found your first suggestion very helpful, line up the bird with the light grey outline and hit the vertical cement block towards the top, consistently get 68k+.
Thx @wrw01 your start got me 70,910!!! It is very easy and repeatable. ( the top area of the vertical left grey post) it fell apart much like hitting the small horizontal wood board supporting the rock. I got between 65-67k consistently with this :-) thx again!!! :-)

still unable to beat a score on fb of 73,000, i try for a bit and then give up, clueless as to how they did it.

Tips for eagle destruction on Chrome:
– Many methods would work, but the one I like is firing a red bird and knocking down the structure, then placing the can on the glass (or break it if you can for better destruction) and destroying a maximum amount of blocks.
– Also, if method 1 doesn’t work use the other 3 birds to clear up what’s in the open to compact the debris more.
Has anyone noticed that this level in facebook has Glass instead of wood making it a lot easier to 3 star sometimes evena random hit gives you a 3 star

Hi all ,sorry if this is a dumb question ,but as im not big on facebook ,i have not seen the set up ,or know how many levels are effected by the differences im hearing about as i go back through ABO,and i think i read they dont go into the nest leaderboard ,is that right?
I’m not so sure if this works but I would try hitting the left horizontal ice and that would cause the entire left tower walls to fall and kill the baby pigs
@AMSlimfordy @wrw01 This is one of those levels that has changed since the original release. Also it is on facebook. Do we know if 74K is still achievable, or if it can only be done with powerups?
That score of 74k is not a Facebook score; it’s Symbian.
The level was tweaked from wood to ice, so the “new” version should yield higher scores.
@amslimfordy it does yield higher scores. A birdquake powerup yielded almost 76k no birder too. It’s a close call.
I thought only SWII allowed powerups and swaps?

I aim at the top horizontal glass which causes the horizontal wood to fold in on itself forcing the verticals below to fall to either side. The boulder then continues down to finish off pigs and bottom blue horizontal. Very repeatable for a 69+ score
I have to agree with @windwalker on this one, just hitting the vertical cement slab on the side produces very low scores, therefore hitting the side of the top horizontal glass is better.
Ditto as @windwalker says . Much higher scores now that there is glass instead of wood!
Ok, fling the red bird to the top ice structure to brake the horizontal beam and land on the big stone. With a bit of luck the whole structure will open apart and the stone will smash the pigs at the same time.
I am at work playing this level on my phone (mostly secretly). I usually don’t mix up my phone and iPad scores, so I will keep this score on my personal broad. Just to mention that I got 72540 hitting top horizontal glass as many of other players said (nothing new to share). Anyway, results were not consistent in my cas and they could vary somewhat between 67k-72k on many tries.
Been trying to improve some of my old (really old now) scores and having a lot of fun doing it. Just improved to 67,450 – come back here and see the current average is 67,451. One lousy point!

I agree with you @bonneypattycat and @mumsie42 this particular one keeps popping up on the challenge with amazing regulatory and unfortunately it is one of the more boring levels, think I will give it a pass this time

It’s almost as if this is some kind of default level – whenever there is any kind of glitch with the Challenge this one seems to pop up. Last night the Challenge didn’t change at 10pm when it should have, the Space level was repeated, then when I woke up this morning, here we were again at PE 1-5.
I’m also giving it a pass, like @mumsie42 I’ve flung hundeds of birds at this one & am not likely to improve.
This is one of those levels I wish could be added to a “No more Challenges” list. It’s just too played out.
Yeah and it gets more frustrating when the same challenge level is used two days in a row and I still can’t improve my score. Oh well …
I wouldn’t call it a bore, but challenging to get the higher scores. I’m going to leave this, I think, and settle with my 72,190 which was my original score. I do give up on this challenge level, and kudos to those who have gotten these great scores!

I tried a few futile flings before the 10pm switch (hoping for a spot in the top 50) but my lucky fluke shot at the top glass/ice of just over 72k will have to suffice.
I scores 41,230 with my first red bird using @wrw01 method…. HOWEVER…. I left my finger hovering over the screen while I watched my lil red bird’s nice destruction… and… I inadvertently tossed a second bird off in a random direction, thus my total was only 61,230 h not that remarkable… so my advice is – WATCH WHERE YOU REST YOUR HAND AFTER YOU FLING YOUR BIRD!!! :-)
BTW my score WOULD HAVE BEEN 71 230 :-)
Got 71k on pc version hitting stone pillar just beneath the top wooden bar holding the rock. Still stuck on 69k on Windows Phone.

I’d been aiming as @mpg973 pic suggests & managed to improve from 69500>70990 on iPad, whereas I normally fling/compete on Android phone.
I just however managed to improve to 71770 and I would have sworn I’d switched to start aiming down towards the bottom left corner in an attempt to dislodge the concrete /. I’d looked up to speak with hubby & closed the new high score screen without realizing I’d just managed well over 71k.
I hope @hidayat1999 will pop in here to post/share his strategy for the incredible TopScore of 77300 as I am also hoping that as today’s Challenge Leader (so far at least,) @tienshenlong will add his strategy for the 75090.

@ixan57 That is a phenominal score. How do you explain it is 13k above the #2 spot when there is very little room for extra points in this level? And why did you crop your picture? Personally I would like to see a more complete screenshot of the level and hear a more detailed description of what happened. Where did the extra points come from?
@angrychicken sure no problem when I get work phone(in about 12hrs time) will take more detailed pictures of and post them here. The shot was a one bird.it hit the top wooden floor that is supporting the ice/glass uprights holding the boulder. It fell inward and took practally all deris out. Must say I was more than a bit surprised myself. Not all that good on the technical side. I.e screenshoting etc. But will get good pictures for you in about 12hrs on better quality camera.

@angrychicken ha ha I can’t even get the auto spell right. 2yrs ago I got bit by a horse fly (also known as a cleg) and my whole lower arm swoll up.I was like Popeye. Had to go to emergency hospital lost circulation on arm. It basically a dung fly, ugly. Googled it and close up it looked a smart critter. Trying all the time poached eggs to try and get more information if happens again. When I get time I’ll raise a ticket with rovio, it annoying me as am I of the first to be suspicious. Played all along with you all, hitting upper part of vertical stone plank. Stuck around 66-69. But ic had allready scored 72k on a previous challenge, so i tried the facebook app of the game and aoround the 10th fling everything fell into pieces.
Horizontal ice crushed, vertical stone planks on both sides crushed, the wood and everythng of the glass from above crushed.
I´m not quite shure, if there is an possible error, like @ixan57 so i tried a few more flings, but never get close to these points.

@ixan57 I know, I don’t question your score. You provided adequate proof and an explanation, which is a lot more than most players bother to do. And I didn’t know you can play Angry Birds on Twitter?
Same goes for you @bui-duc-anh I see you have quite a few highscores in your ABO leaderboard, and all those levels are available in the facebook version. These scores are not allowed, nor can you use power-ups anywhere outside the weekly tournament.

@bui-duc-anh Yes I can see it but like I already said: facebook scores are not allowed here. You need to remove all your scores and post them here in stead. Some levels, like this one, behave differently on facebook vs mobile which would provide an unfair advantage to players so we have a separate leaderboard for them.
@admins Why is there no leaderboard for the facebook Poached Eggs and Mighty Hoax chapters? Seems strange. Surf and Turf has one and that’s in the original AB app, but these chapters don’t? Now player have nowhere else to post their scores but here, which leads to a lot of confusion.

OK, I will remove all scores when I’m free. But I just play for relaxing and use no power-ups in all eposides… I don’t have any smartphones, so I can only play all these eposides on Facebook appstore. :)

in trying to replicate or at least verify feasibility of @ixan57 super fabulous score .. I have been tossing multiple rapid fire birds in various places.
first I am assuming the challenge today is to get someone to get close.
I had a pretty good fist shot that was going to result in about 70. there was still one vertical wood and one stone standing up on the right side, I nailed it for 49K raw. I believe it actually broke the rightmost slanted support and a bunch of ice that wound up over there, which is odd because usually the ice is on the left.
there is still a LOT of stone, seemingly unmovable, in the base of those structures. every once in a while, the boulder breaks the left wooden support that keeps the big stones from collapsing inward. I was able to capitalize on that and nail the upper part of the left stone support system above the slanted stone and get > 45K raw. it timed out as bird 3 was on the way.
I have also had that wood board break, and the stones were falling inward when the level timed out.
I think if the left wooden support in the interior broke, and the stones leaned inward and were able to break the vertical wooden beam on the right interior, and those stones fell, and the level didn’t time out (that’s the big if) 90K is not outside the realm of possibility. NEARLY impossible, yes. But there is a LOT of stuff still left on the average 70K run.
Of course I am sitting at what for me is a pretty decent 72.

@uncle-b Not sweetp but yes this was a challenge very recently. Could not believe it when I looked to see what the daily challenge was and this came up again in just two or three days. Guess since it has a person with a high score 6 or 7 thousand above anyone’s score more time in needed to try and beat it.
This one solution level is extremely inequitable as there is little hope of coming anywhere close to matching the high score which certainly must be considered an outlier. Frankly it just isn’t much fun to play for any length of time as a Challenge level. Therefore I propose that it be permanently removed from the Daily Challenge rotation.

I also wonder if the tally screen that is not required for the daily challenge should be required for new top scores to remove any question as to whether or not there is any PU’s being used to get the high score.
