The basic strategy for Mighty Hoax level 5-16 is to fire Black birds into the stone triangles holding multitude of stones. In general, work your way from top-to-bottom, detonating the birds as far to the right as possible. The score in the video below is 113,780.

This is the last level I have left to complete the game on facebook. But I only have one star. It is drving me CRAZY!!!

One of the levels that need a huge dose of the l-factor. Levels like these give me headaches :(

I played this only two times this morning, and got my score, do what Slim wrote!!!!!! :)
I actually try to nail the 2nd pile of rocks from the top. Because if you don’t get the height from this pile to get the far right pig on the cliff you might as well reset.
This can get you an unbelievably high score if you aim for the middle pile of boulders. It is possible to destroy everything in one shot
So what is your unbelievable score? I don’t see your name in the top 100 for his level. And what do you mean with middle pile? There are 4 piles, so there are two middle piles. I don’t get it.
this one makes me laugh though for all the errors i do, blow the rocks to the left, wooppsss, LOL
There is a little bug in this level.
When you hold the first bird, and the second jumps, the first one rotates a bit.
It’s not a bug, birds will rotate on the slingshot when hit by any objects.
It doesn’t affect your gameplay.
I simply cannot do this level. When I shoot the black bird bombs, no matter where I hit on the rock piles (and I try to hit the triangle behind the pile of rocks)…the rocks NEVER shoot off up & over to the right and hit the structure, they fall and at the end of the game I have a huge pile of rocks just at the base of the black platform the entire structure is sitting on. If I’m super lucky, one of the rocks will take off and hit the structure but with very little damage/score. Most times the rocks drop straight down and knock all of the piles of rocks off of their platforms. Mine never look like the rocks flying in the videos. I just can’t do this one. I’ve even used the power up cheats and still can’t get it. Any suggestions?
When you aim, go for the triangle but when you collide, swipe your finger or click the mouse to explode on impact. Believe me, this level frustrated me to no end until I discovered this trick by accident. The stones should be sent flying into the glass structure with one stone inevitably finding its way to the uppermost pig. Also, use the slingscope powerup for more accurate positioning of the bird. I got 130,790!

Are you making the bombs explode or waiting until they explode by themselves? I’m pretty sure this is how I did it – if you can get them to just land up on the start of the shelf and then make them explode yourself, it should force the rocks in the right direction.
Keep trying and good luck – it can be a VERY frustrating game sometimes but oh so sweet when you get a good score. :)
I have a quick trigger finger, so yes, I am exploding them myself and not waiting. Maybe that is my problem…I am exploding them too soon? I’m gonna keep trying but gosh it’s making me cr@zy! Another problem I have on this one is aim … LOL NOT good :( Thanks for your help.
OMG you helped me sooo much!! THANK YOU!! After only a few tries, I realized that I was not pulling the slingshot back hardly at all (i guess for fear of over-shooting?) Anyway, I pulled it back as far as it would go, my aim was better after that and most importantly; I WAS exploding the bombs too soon. When I got one to land on the little platform, I waited until the bomb turned red (just before it self-destructs) and then would blow it up myself. Much better results. I know it’s not a good score but by gosh I f.i.n.a.l.l.y got 3 stars! 113,550 using all of the bombs
Well done @shelly! I’m pleased I could help someone. I know that feeling when you’ve played a level over and over and thought how on earth have others got 3 stars let alone some of the massively high scores. It took me a while to realise that most of the high/top scores weren’t reached after just playing the level a couple of times. Most of the high scores are reached by simply playing the levels hundreds of times. (Some – but very few – will be freak shots gained after only a few goes but I’m 99 percent sure the majority are from repetition/perseverance.)

I am finding this level so hard!! I can’t even get two stars, let alone three! This is the one level stopping me from getting the golden egg for completing the Mighty Hoax episode… aargh! Has anyone got any other tips? Have tried to follow the video but so far my top score is only 104,000 and that was a push. Help!
Used the AMslimfordy ABN video for the first two black birds. Lauched the 3rd bird bomb directly into the debris on the right to take out the last pig and received a bunch of points from destroying the debris. Increased the score 5K.
Finished this level with two bird bombs remaining and had a score of 110k. Appears the higher scores depend on the debris and pigs taken out with the first 3 birds.
Seriously, no words can describe how much I hate this level.
This level is truly at the top of what I like to call the “A Scale.”. And that’s “A” for “Annoying!!!”. But perseverance and persistence usually pay off, and sometimes in surprising ways!
The main problem is that the sweet spot for each rock shelf is quite small, and due largely to the level background, precise aiming is difficult. I managed to get this level on my old Xoom tablet, but it’s proving elusive on my iPad for some reason. No doubt it delights in ticking me off! :-)
Persistence is the only way to get three stars on this level. I finally got 120420 after “million” failures. I doubt I could repeat this on android phone, I played on iPad.
Special thanks to you, your witty comment was like trigger for me to give another try on this level. Anyway, I doubt I would be back here ever.

Then hit the second from lowest pile of stone to break as much glass as possible, still leaving the pig on the ledge. Then hit the third pile wiping out the remaining glass and taking the pig off the ledge.
A two bird solution isn’t that hard but it only scores about 100k. The trick for three stars is to do as much damage without killing all the pigs before the third bowb.
Without even looking at the vid… I tried your method along with Shelly’s…
After getting the rhythm down and a few more “resets”..lol.. I got IT! 116,850 NO POWERUPS cheating either. :0P

I read a tip on another site that suggested firing the birds as quickly as possible in succession. I’m far from a top scorer on this level, but for me, this instantly cut the frustration and increased my scores; I was barely able to get three stars before. It seems to me that the best order in which to shoot the birds to the platforms was 3, 1, 2 (top=1, bottom=4), although 1, 3, 2 also seems to work. The fourth bird is dependent on context. Depending on how the structure has fallen, you have three choices: save it for 10k, send it into the bottom rockpile, or throw it directly into the debris by threading between the top two platforms. The second option gave me my best score, and I think it’s probably preferable in most cases.
This is not my favourite type of level but I was way below average. After trying all kinds of different combinations I ended up sticking with the walkthrough, starting at the top & working my way down. I also used the tip from @austinrhl to fling the birds as quickly as possible. I didn’t even look at what sort of damage was being done, just kept firing the next bomb as soon as I could into the next platform down, stopping after the 3rd bird. Got a couple of 121k scores, then finally ended up with 128k.
If you’re looking just to 3 stars or get over the average score, this is the method I found most consistent – Fire the first bird into the 2nd highest pile, a tip is to aim it so that the bottom of the slingshot strap is touching the next bird’s little hair thing on top of his head. Though twice, he did blow up the bird when he was dong the jump thing they do, so careful. Detonate manually (just because sometimes he might fall off before he explodes). This takes care of the right hand side. 2nd bird into the 2nd lowest pile. Aim so his body is in the middle of the bush in the background. Sometimes this will take care of the rest but I always use three birds because it generally produces a higher score. The last bird goes to the top pile. Aim so there is just a sliver of green between the bird and the bush in the background. This takes out a bit of ice/glass as well as the pigs if they’re still left. It generally scores an average of 116,000 so if your aim is to beat the high score, I will be of no help. :)
Perseverance! Top, 2nd from bottom, 2nd from top and finally, bottom. Use all 4 birds, the destruction is worth more than the 10k for that last bird. I did manage to get a 1 birdie but, it only netted 100k…
