it’s fun. but i have a feeling this will be another game that will end up difficult and i’ll be stuck on a level and no walk-through video could help XD

it’s cool, though

@thislilpiggy

I’ve been playing this game since it was soft launched in Canada. I’m currently at level 589.

They essentially took their Nibblers game and repackaged it with the AB characters. What’s different is addition of the hatchlings and buying outfits. It’s cool and cute, but the outfits get pricey as you progress so I don’t collect them

Chests are nice especially the infinite live rewards (up to 1 hour).

However, the game gets difficult quite early because you barely have enough moves to complete the level and often I have to end up paying to progress. Unfortunately there aren’t walkthroughs because the blocks are always randomized.

The game only supports devices with iOS 9 and above.

That’s dumb…I have every other angry birds game…why did you do that?

Another one? Really? How many match 3 does one freaking company need to make before they realize it’s enough?!

Seems that at least 10. “Only” 4 of them are Angry Birds though.

AB Fight, AB match… Wait, there are only 2!

AB Fight , AB Pop , AB Blast And AB Match
@mp127
I guess it’ll be 3 when AB Fights is closed…

…AB Pop and Blast too.

Matching objects? Check.
Some obstacles like blocks? Check.
Special bonuses and combos? Check.
Lives? Check.
The feel of a massive cash-grab? Check.
Cute graphics? Check.

All come down to the same mechanics.

AB Pop is a shooter, not a match 3.
AB Blast, you don’t swipe your finger. You only tap.

While it’s right, it doesn’t change the fact that they feel really simillar to each other. Connect the dots, collect the bonus, waste the money to help, repeat.

@abginebird Not the first app culled to promote the other games… Though at this point I wonder which one take so much time that they’ve stopped developing everything else.

@christian-cosgrove ALL of their “puzzle” games suck. They barely feel like proper puzzles that taxes your brains and instead goes for your wallets for coins and boosters.Also all of these play the same with any to no difference,. I can very well play Candy Crush Saga and say that I am playing Angry Birds Match but in the end I would still be correct. All of their puzzle based games are awful and they keep making more just to pile on the count.

@christian-cosgrove Just remembered that you forgot to count one of their other crap games. Love Rocks. That was also a below mediocre match 3. So that’s already 3 plus those other ones that are also “match” types (no matter whether you tap or not as no one ever laid down a rule that matches had to be made just by swiping). So on a technicality, that’s 5 awful restructured matching games just in case you wanted more than the billions out there on stores.

Also not to mention Travel Match, their latest one.

I got to as far as the AB Match will take me. I reached level 600 and I reached the end until there’s another update. Most of the levels are repeats.

@jon3800 We also forgot to count in Nibblers. All these games are rehashes and nothing more.

@datguygamer

If you look at my reply just slightly above, I mentioned that AB Match is exact copy of their Nibblers game, even the boosters function the same as the Nibbler’s character and the pigs as the lizard enemies. Missions are identical, clear glue, clear mud, defeat pigs, get X many treats.

When it was soft launched, the game had an actual plot. Pigs invaded the island kidnapping the birds, and you brought them back by playing levels and earning coins to purchase items that were stolen. It USED to be interactive. When it got its 2nd update (which you’re seeing now)… it’s no longer the case. Plots gone. Someone thought it would be cool for the hatchlings to wear outfits and the costs to purchase them gets insane. It’s like AB2 with the hat sets

Nibbler’s although the game is huge (has over 2900 levels), isn’t all that bad. The plot still remains, they’re quite generous with boosters (completing everyday tasks nabs you a shark) and it’s doable all around. It was different than the match 3 games I played. AB Match is not. It is stingy all around. Expensive outfits (6000 coins), boosters aren’t that helpful, no video rewards for retrying a level and barely gives you enough moves to complete the level

@jon3800 As I said earlier, below mediocre at best.

@datguygamer

I’ll play the devil’s advocate here. You have to remember it’s a mobile app game. They have limited capacity so that it can fit on your 16-32GB phone/tablet. Most, if not all app games we both are playing are below mediocre at best; Subway Surfer, Sonic Dash,clash of clans, Pokemon Go, all forms of Angry Birds etc…

They’re meant to pass the time while you’re riding on the bus or on break at school or at work. None of us are expecting them to be masterpieces like Playstation’s Uncharted Series, Resident Evil 7 and Last of Us. I’m not going to pack up and sell my console to play app games.

I can say most of the FPS shooters they put out are below mediocre since it’s the same thing over and over again. However that’s beside the point

Taking in ALL the match 3 games I’ve played over the course of 5-6 years: AB Match, AB Fight, Candy Crush Saga, Bejewelled, Nibblers, AB Blast, The gem puzzle on Secret Society; Nibblers is the better game. I’m not saying it’s the BEST mobile game out there, but it’s the better match 3 game. The fact that it doesn’t force my wallet like AB Match does, will keep me interested in it.

@jon3800 Except for the fact that there are mobile games that give you the experience of a console games while still being a mobile game. But most of these “games” (calling them games is debatable) not only play poorly but also demand way more money than console games and ESPECIALLY these ones are what I call the bottom of the barrel. These kinds of “puzzle” games fall under the sub category of “Arcade” while puzzle games like Monument Valley, The Room actually are engaging games. The latter games are not quick past times, they demand attention while Rovio games require a brain-dead individual at best.

Rovio should go to jail… THIS IS KILLING ME WITH CUTE!!!

R.I.P originality.

By datguygamer (@datguygamer)

Pfft, with Match 3 and with Rovio in general, “originality” is not something they have nowadays. They USED to have that but now they are just another one of those scammy corporates that want to suck you out if your cash.

Can anyone tell mè What are the gold coins for?

the hatchlings are so cute
