Angry Birds Go! Update Adds Multiplayer Races

Angry Birds Go! v1.4.0 is now available for iOS, and soon on Android! This update introduces Multiplayer Racing, and some menu tweaks. Let’s buckle up and go through what’s included in this update.

  • Multiplayer Races: Race other players from around the world, and connect to Facebook to race your friends.
  • Only licensed drivers are allowed to race: Get your own Piggy Island Driver’s License

Angry birds GO! telepods series 2 are now available in some Eastern European countries. Hope I will be able to find them in Bosnia, as we are treated as same market for international companies.

Keep getting beat in the multi player races because of the lower cc level. Did not bring the telepods on this trip.

Also noticed on eBay that series 2 GO telepods have been presented in the last day.

Like the new update but not connected with Facebook for additional players.

Aside from the fact that I seem to be winning few races due to lower CC, two of the three that I won, the game crashed. I have an iPad Air and have completed the entire game and numerous challenges. Disappointing update.

The update is not available on android.
From Rovio: This update is today out for iOS but it’s coming out for Android in the very near future.

After the last update, many people here complained about the prices (6000 or 9000 gems for one single kart) which nobody can afford. Now they even increased the prices! (New: 7000/7500 gems instead of 6000).

Does anybody understand Rovio? What is the sense of karts which nobody can use?

I’m not sure I understand how this whole thing works. It apparently doesn’t require the other players to be online, so what exactly is the point? Is it computerizing one of their character/karts? Is it even possible to race a live person? If anybody understands this better than I do, some clarification would help.

Also, on a second note, I never received the Piggy Osland Liscense prompt.

Rovio wrote: “Multiplayer Part 1 is asynchronous, so your opponents don’t have to be online when you race – but you will still challenge them bumper to bumper and beak to beak nevertheless!”

I really don’t understand this either.

I think it might be a ghost of the player from a previous race… It’s very unclear though.

Drats, the only reason I still had the game installed was because I was hoping for a real multiplayer feature. I guess I was hoping for too much from a free mobile game.

I’ll hang onto my backup but for now I just reclaimed 480MB of internal storage… which is also welcome.

Yes!
I think this is like the “Real Racing 3”. The “TSM”(Time Shifted Multiplayer) system. Not?

By Andrew

Andry birds GO has no multiplayer. You play against bots. Team multiplayer – you play with bots against bots. Rovio support confirmed it when I asked.

Also don’t care about cc – bots with lowest cc cars can drive and accelerate faster than you.

Keeps crashing on my iPhone 5S.

Yes, I’ve tried rebooting the ‘phone!

It looks like Goldfish is no longer a sponsor- their power up has been replaced with a simple propellor. Too bad- I always found the power up delightfully cheesy (pun intended).

@pigcontraptions No shouting please. We have no control over release dates.

Does anyone else have really bad graphics on their karts and coins on track? I’m using a 5th gen Ipod touch.

Does any one notice that the game is running very very smother than the last version?
Or it’s just happened for me?

I had it crash on me :p I finished a multiplayer race and it suddenly froze up. Oh well!

Don’t race when your racer has only 1 cupcake left! I finished 2 races (first place) when my racers had 1 cupcake, then the game crashed before I got any trophies.

Another new feature was added which has not been mentioned before: if you want to replay a race if the weekly tournament, you have to pay coins now. The more repetitions you need, the more coins you have to pay.

Rank: Gold Flinger with 9660 points
By Dr. Omega (@dr-omega)

Pay to re-play is the worst idea Rovio has ever had. I could not beat the last level of last week’s tournament. I probably spent 1500 Bird Coins but could not finish the level.

Rovio needs to be really careful here. King is fine to prey on your frustration with games like Candy Crush. They aren’t really fun, but you will find yourself paying just so you can move on. Rovio has always been about fun. I get the need to monetize things, but when they make you have to pay AND make the gameplay frustratingly difficult, it’s heading into a bad area, IMHO.

Rank: Sling God with 26055 points
By sal9 (@sal9)

@dr-omega I agree. Same mistake as ABSW Tournament.

By C. Garison

The part of this update that bugs me is that the coins and crystals collected during a race do not count in the tally at the end of the race. Plus the lower CCs on the carts really hurts when you are used to running and winning the majority of races. Bad update and the game needs to be restored back to the way it was before this coin and crystal stealing update arrived.

Shame on Rovio for trying to jerk more money out of our pockets.

By Mike

They do not count in the tally at the end because they’re added as you go. Look at your coin and crystal count in the top left as you drive through coins/crystals.

@sal9 I know this post might be a tiny bit old, but to race your friends, does Game Center work too? Or is it only Facebook right now?

I need Telepods for the following karts:

Sty GT L6
Phoenix Star L6
Rapid Rider L6
Air Guitar L6
Dragster Snout L6
Trash Thrasher L6
The Blue Cornet L6
Arctic Roller L6

Nobody can buy them with gems. So where can I get the Telepods?

I thought it said that it will come out in Spring? Wow it changed to Summer but its ok im still waiting for Multiplayer in Android.

By Game_master90

What the heck in the rocky road the second car is 180 gems darn

And what do Rovio mean with cars that costs 9000 gems

6500 gems with 100 dollar so you need spent more than 100 dollar

I find it odd that when I was in the start of a Multiplayer race race and my Wifi just turned off..I pulled back the slingshot and let go,and the other players were playing perfectly? Are the players fake?

Rank: Champion with 3915 points
By LaurenM (@thislilpiggy)

The fact that the other racers don’t pull back their carts until you do (and there is no countdown until pulling back the slingshot), is a given that it isn’t really live play. :/
