Angry Birds Friends Tournament Level 4 – Week 22 – October 15th

Walkthrough video and strategy for Angry Birds Friends on Facebook Tournament Level #4 Week 22 (this tournament began the week of October 15th, 2012). It is a repeat of level 2 from week 13. Because of the unique nature of this level, for the first time we actually recorded a power-up strategy in addition to the non power-up one. The first video shows a good non power-up strategy and the second the one uses Birdquake.

Our Angry Birds Friends Tournament walkthroughs show you how to obtain 3 stars and highscores with and without Power Ups. If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments. Tournament walkthroughs are added weekly as new levels come out, so be sure to check the walkthrough page.

Non Power-up Strategy

If your keen on not using power-ups, start by firing the red bird down to weaken the top part of the structure. Fling the yellow bird at the wall, speed boosting before hitting the bounce pads so as he comes back and hits the edge of the wood beam holding up the TNT. This will cause the TNT to fall and the explosion may release the bouncy balls, finishing off the level. The score in the video is 142,050.

No skill on this stage, you just use “bird quake” and hope you get lucky in clearing all debris.

Correct. Just like last time. The other trick is to “hold” the bird while the balls are bouncing to allow for maximum damage. The rest is luck.

Last time I really struggled to make 168K. This time, I have scored 170K twice in 5 minutes. Did they change the algorithm? Moreover, did I achieve total destruction? http://angrybir.de/WbxhI4 I hate not been able to see what the heck happened.

easy quake level ever! yea it has been modified! :) I think more than 170,420 is possible as one of my friend got 170,480! don’t know how, even though after total destruction I got 170,080! :/

I think total destruction doesn’t always yield the same result. After the quake, I’ve been blindly throwing the red bird after a while of holding it and I managed to finish everything twice, yet the scores were 160,290 and 160,350. Maybe it’s a matter of how the pieces get destroyed…?

Question: For some irrational reason, I chose to press SS before the BQ. I know it’s supposed to be irrelevant but I got my best scores (170+) this way twice. Coincidence, or some “enhancing factor” in the destruction algorithm?

I didn’t press it and still got above 170K twice. Difference in the top score for this level will be peanuts.

i dont think pressing super seed will make any changes, as congo said the difference between the top score will be of tiny difference…

Same strat with BQ…ended as 169,100 but as the last bird was taged with 10K bonus the score changed to 170,240…ah those algorytms

170390 with same “strategy”

BQ and hold next bird as long as the balls have destroyed everything and score 170380. :)

Holding the next bird does stop the end game score kicking in.. works well as long as at least one ball is travelling horizontal to do the dmg on the remaining debris.. this tactic also works in any level that has bouncing balls btw.

Thank you @sspithas. Total destruction is possible, but it can yield a range of different scores that goes from 169K to more than 170K like yours (2k variation?). I believe that it has to do with the algorithm giving different punctuation to the pieces depending on the way they are destroyed.

has anybody suggested putting the Trnie Posts from Latest to Earliest, so checking up is right at the Top of the Page?

I don’t understand your question.

reverse the sort order I believe eggomaniac is suggesting.. ie current week at the top and first week at the bottom.

This is the perfect (or very near to) no powerup score for this level http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lnyg-76Sgk
