Angry Birds Friends Holiday Tournament I – Level 1 Week 82 – December 9th

Walkthrough video and strategy for Angry Birds Friends on Facebook Holiday Tournament I Level #1 Week 82 (this tournament began the week of December 9th, 2013). Our non power-up strategy for this level is to fling Matilda over to the right side, and drop the egg bomb between the first two rein-pigs. Then send the Yellow bird towards the upper part of the tnt. With a little bit of luck, the explosion should send the yellow bird into the rightmost pig. The score in the video below is 60,200.

* Note, this is a special tournament (more info) celebrating the holiday season.

Our Angry Birds Friends Tournament walkthroughs show you how to obtain 3 stars and highscores with and without Power Ups. If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments. Tournament walkthroughs are added weekly as new levels come out, so be sure to check the walkthrough page.

Same basic strat except I aimed slightly lower. On an iPad using GS, loaded WM to sleigh. With luck, WM will wipe out the sleigh and most snow underneath, then bounce to the right taking out all the “reinpigs.” No debris left except some snow. I suspect high scores will top out at 100k+/- by the end of the week.

69K with Christmas tree sling. White bird with high arc so that it lands somewhere between pig and TNT. Yellow bird after that to destroy three remaining pigs.

Can anyone post a video? I’m sorry, I’m sceptical of this strat. Maybe It doesn’t work on a PC.

64,880, on PC, no P/Us, no slings. Took a while but finally got it to work. I was having issues getting the yellow bird to get through all three pigs. I dropped the “Matilda Bomb” just after the big pig with the stocking. It blew up most of the stuff on the sled and the TNT in back got knocked around enough to blow and kick the wood off to the left destroying some presents. The key here was getting the metal “handle” of the sled knocked in half or off. That way I could throw yellow low enough….activated him kinda late aiming at the first reinpig’s antlers…..took some patience, but good luck..

Hi @terribletom, Similar strategy, but used Matilda in a low arc, dropped just before the left side of the sleigh sending her into it, blew up the TNT. Then YB over to clean up last 2 pigs.

I believe dosmundos said “to COMPETE”, not just play. Sure, you can just play without buying anything… but what fun is it when you can’t get anywhere as far as getting high scores to COMPETE with everyone else?

I totally agree, dosmundos!

After having spent a small fortune on various slings and power ups in the last few months on AB Friends, I can totally understand your frustration. Those who choose not to purchase extra slings or power ups are at a disadvantage in achieving the highest of scores. As an alternative, most other versions of AB on ABN do not allow the posting of scores using power ups or different slings. For example, the latest updated episodes of the original AB, Short Fuse or Red’s Mighty Feathers, etc., are all a lot of fun. Very challenging. No power ups allowed when posting scores on ABN on most other episodes or versions of AB. Check ’em out, if you want. Kick some bacon behind. No in-app purchase necessary to get 3-stars on every level :)

I agree. I have been absolutely slaughtered the past two weeks in the last two days ebcause I won’t spend $50 a week on this game. IT’s not a lot of fun anymore.

The fun for me is not playing any AB game or posting scores or strats/comments, but in making new friends worldwide. Through ABN since I became a member in June 2012, I have befriended dozens of other “Nesters” from, besides USA, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Columbia, Peru, Portugal, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Great Britain, China, Korea, Japan, Pakistan, India, the list of new friends goes on and on! AB is just a stupid game, often very frustrating. The “addiction” for me on ABN is the fun I experience interacting with so many different people from so many different countries. All politics and religions aside, we’re all friends via AB and ABN. What fun!

The only sling you’d have to purchase with money is the Gold Sling. The rest are obtainable with earned bird coins. Why is this sickening? Have you run out of bird coins using silly power ups to three-star levels that you should have been able to three-star without using them? Perhaps that would be your own individual issue.

I’ve ‘bought’ all of the available slings with earned bird coins, obviously with the exception of the Gold Sling. They have increased my scores. I can ‘buy’ a whole new round of them again if offered. I haven’t wasted all my coinage.

Have to use money to buy more coins so that you get those slings? That’s your fault. Not Rovio’s. Rovio is not greedy, at least not in that sense. Man up or Woman up, depending on your gender.

By Rogabert

..And just how is one supposed to be able to “earn” thousands of bird coins to buy the slings when one cannot win any tournaments because all of one’s competitors are using power ups to get the super-high scores? I very seldom use a power up to gain more destruction, I will on occasion use the “bullseye” power up to be sure of my aim. If I cannot beat my competitors without powerups, I don’t care, I’ll just settle for the silver or bronze crown, or none at all… so what, its only a game. But it is nearly impossible to earn enough bird coins to buy these slings when you cannot win any tournaments… I’ve been playing this game over a year and have acquired only a couple thousand bird coins, which are now practically all gone after buying just ONE of the slings.

Another strat to gain more bird coins and power ups for free daily, invite more and more friends to join your AB Friends circle on FB. Even if they don’t play, they can still send you daily gifts in the form of power ups or bird-coins. I have several friends in my FB circle, many of whom don’t play at all, but they send me daily gifts as a favor to me. Those extra coins from friends have reduced my paid coins by about 1/3.

Well, Rogabert, you are welcome to join the tournament that I’m in. It’s just a small circle, but we’ve all agreed not to use power ups (bird coin bought slings are okay). Send me a message if you’re interested.

After ‘buying’ all those slings I still have over 9,000 bird coins left, all earned, not bought. We have a Star Wars tournament as well. I have over 3,000 earned coins in my jar over there.

to wave, rather than telling people to “man up or woman up” you should smarten up. as rogabert pointed out it takes months for the average Facebook user to collect enough coins for all the slings. i’m sure you have gone beyond the norm of society and filled your Facebook friend list with people you have never met or ever will, in order to excel at a game. its called angry birds friends, not angry birds strangers. think BEFORE you speak.
