Angry Birds Danger Above 3 Star Walkthrough Level 8-6

Our strategy for Danger Above level 8-6 is to fire the first Blue bird to break the horizontal ice block in the bottom-left of the main structure. Continue working your way left-to-right with Blue birds, attacking the bottom of the main structure. Finish off by destroying the far-right ice structure. The score in the video below is 109,100.

If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments, as that's what the leaderboards are for.

I followed the written direction, focus on bottom left corner. I had three birds left.

There is a potential for a one bird solution.
My guess is that those top scores had to.
The first shot is key, you need to take out the left half of the structure.

117k with 2unused, 120k with 3 unused. The first bird indeed is the key, it should take out the left part including the big one.

The left side of this building is unstable – it’s fallen down three times now, just leaves really awkward little piggies to shoot at. If I find a way to exploit it I’ll let you know.

Just to let you know, it starts to sway and then the left side hollow concrete block moves left and takes everything but the two vertical wooden supports with it. That’s possibly how the top scores were made. I’m useless with the little blue birds – that’s why I cant make use of it.

Sometimes, the collapse starts from the center: the top hollow concrete block somehow bows the structure outward, causing both the left and the right side to collapse. When this happened to me, I was left with 64k and only three pigs on the bottom of the main structure surviving. The debris was a little tricky to navigate around, but a one-birder would have been possible. Unfortunately, I flubbed the shot (coming in from a high lob like E-star demonstrates) and got only one of the pigs. Fortunately, I was able to shoot the second bird pretty low and sweep up a bunch of damaged glass in addition to getting the last two pigs, so I ended up with a decent score anyway.

Thanks for the comment! Please leave a comment in the forum if you find any more self-destroying or unstable levels. Data on the older episodes is largely lacking, and it will take me a looonng time to review all the comments. iI will add 8-6 to the list of self-destroying and unstable levels in the forum. FYI, for these early episodes, there is a second set of “original” walkthroughs at the end of the walkthrough pages. These old walkthroughs are ~5 levels per video, and were replaced with 1 video per level. Not as important as the fact that there are old comments, which were not copied to the new walkthrough pages. Turns out the self-destruction on this level is mentioned there.

I noticed this too :)

A little bit difficult to explain my strat after the collaps, but I used 2 birds and got 120610!

Here is my video, that shows it all!

@E-Star Thanks for the video showing the strategy that one can utilize after the collapse of the left side of the structure. The structure collapsed in a different manner and the stone blocks on the left were not present for the first bird. The launch was a straight-on aimed towards the bottom shot. The end result produced 2k+ in points.

I have had the left side collapse, which destabilized the right as well. Left some inconvenient debris, and the little pigs at the bottom. I think with the right circumstances a zero bird solution may be possible. Will keep trying.

Wow, that was incredible! The left side started swaying then the middle stone blocks at the top fell inwards opening up the entire left side of the structure. An easy two-birder for a great score!

Don’t know if this has changed with some update, but the self destruction now seems to vary between frequent (almost every-other start), to vary infrequent (only the smallest hint of instability in 60 to 100 starts).

So if you aren’t seeing any self-destruction after 15 restarts; try a hard close.

Just as everyone has stated, letting the structure collapse on itself is a great start. This left me with those little pigs on the bottom of the main structure and some debris. My first shot was a lob into the middle (slightly more to the right side of this pile). This took out the two right side pigs and allowed for the right side tower to fall to the left taking out the left sided pig on the bottom that always seems trapped and hard to get at. Left 4 birds for bonus points!

I did also note that the structure does collapse on itself 1 out of every 7 shots. Just need to be patient cuz it doesn’t fall right away… Give it about a 20 seconds count before resetting to try again. Best of luck everyone! :-)

I have seen the structure collapse plenty. Sometimes the left side, sometimes from the middle. Only got the left and right to collapse together once….and I blew the second shot. Will keep trying.

So after reading the comments above I reset the level several times waiting for self-destruction. It did happen fairly often but didn’t always leave easy clean-up. Usually two birds required. This last time I noticed 10 pts show up right off the bat so I just waited a min or so…got such good destruction that only one pig remained netting 132,970 and rocketing me to #2 on leaderboard…very exciting for me as I’m usually happy to land anywhere above 500! :D love angrybirdsnest!!!! Wouldn’t even be able to achieve 3 stars on most levels if it wasn’t for the awesome videos and comments posted here! Thank you everyone!

Would love it if you post your comments on changes in self-destruction, or any new self-destruction you find in that forum. I don’t always see the comments that are only posted on the walkthroughs.
If you haven’t looked at the list, there are some really amusing unstable levels that you might want to check out.
