Angry Birds Danger Above 3 Star Walkthrough Level 8-3

The best strategy for Danger Above level 8-3 is to lob a Yellow bird, speeding through the two horizontal wooden planks above the beachballs. The stone columns will topple to the right, and with a little luck, they can trigger the TNT at the bottom of the level. The score in the video below is 133,900.

Fun fact: This level was originally designed by a 5-year-old Texan named Ethan, and thus Rovio included his name in the sky. Read more in the comments section.

Anyone know the significance of the word Ethan in the sky? Sorry if this has been covered somewhere before.

Ethan was a 5 year old from Texas who loved drawing “Angry Birds” levels. Rovio liked his letter and drawing so much, they made the level almost precisely as he drew it. Read more in this article.

I will add this to the post as a Fun Fact, just like 7-11.

That is a great story and a this is a fun level. I tried your excellent walkthrough and it really improved my score. I also note that no one else offered an alternative which is really unusual. Thank you for all the work you do here!

Fun fact: the letters of the name can be shot as well. Not that this is needed for the level, but shot my yellow bird the wrong way and noticed it :)

AMslimfordy’s video for ABN worked great.
In case one misses the two boards with the first yellow bird, fling the second into the opening that was created at the top and there is a good chance the structure will fall and tnt will explode. Did it a couple of times and obtained scores in the 124k range.

Has anyone else noticed what seems to be a programming glitch? Several times I’ve gotten extremely high scores through what I can only describe as spontaneous combustion. Most or all of the structure just explodes and disintegrates, sometimes before I’ve even launched a bird. It’s not just falling down by itself it’s actually blowing up. I can’t remember which other levels that it’s happened on, but on this level my score is 148,170. Don’t worry, I don’t post to the leader boards, I just play for fun! I haven’t been able to find any mention of this phenomenon happening to others when I’ve searched. I have a Motorola Xoom Tablet and it seems like it has something to do with the way I hold it by the bottom left side while playing.

By any chance, are you running “Jelly Bean”?

By Rebecca

Yes, I am now, but this has been happening for quite a while. I think perhaps even before my android upgraded to ice cream sandwich. I’ve reinstalled Angry birds a few times. The last couple of times has been after I factory reset my tablet. The spontaneous explosions didn’t happen the first couple of installations. Have you heard of this before?

I’ve heard of it on Jelly Bean. I’m honestly not very familiar with the Android operating systems, but I’ve heard of “spontaneous explosions” on Angry Birds using Jelly Bean. It has been reported to both Rovio and Android, but I would encourage you to report it to them as well. The more voices, the more likely the two can come to a fix.

Rebecca (in case you are notified of replies) and @amslimfordy, just saw this post about frequent spontaneous explosions in AB apps with Jelly Bean on Motorola Xoom tablets. I posted a (too) lengthy description of this problem in early August under Bugs and Glitches on page 9. Since then there has been an upgrade to Jelly Bean that has helped but has not resolved the problem. It is my understanding from Rovio that the Jelly Bean problem only affects Wi-Fi Xooms, thus they are not putting any effort into a fix for their apps.

lv noticed the opposite, there seems to be another block holding the horizontal, plank at the top, an after 50 + tries, i cannot get the structure to Fallen down no matter how Manuel birdd i use. it is frustraiting
