The best strategy for Big Setup level 9-5 is to launch Big Brother through the small ice square in the top-left of the structure. That area is a bit softer, so the bird should pass all the way through to the last pig. The score in the video below is 39,280.

If you have the boomerang bird in the cage, you have some luck. Every once in a while the bird will start shaking. Very few times will it shake violently and destroy the level, resulting in a 0-birder.
Interesting. I’d earned 3 stars on all of 9 quite a while ago. Today, just for a hoot, I went back to get the feathers. I was surprised to see the trapped boomerang bird when I opened 9-5! Then I freed him with a direct hit. No “achievement” flag came up, but a boomerang bird arose through the center of the screen. Opening the level again, the green bird was no longer there. What’s the significance?
I tried this many times before releasing the Boomerang bird, but after 100 tries and 10 shaking birdcage, but no 0 birdie. The left block falls on the top pig, but it doesn’t do anything form me. So I gave up :(
me too! finnally gave up..got bird out of cage..but still can’t get average score. help!! its late giving it up tonight !! tommorrow I may whine for help lol!
Just another fling and hope level..what aggravates me is I know I did it before but wasn’t on boards at the time so no idea what my score was!! probably not even close to average ..3stars np average ..another story ;)
on this level on my nook i hit the middle and a green bird popped up like a golden egg. i dont get it. please help.

Had the Boomerang Bird in the cage. Aimed Big Brother in the area where the two left glass planks meet. At this point I did not read the comments or view the video. It took out everything on the bottom and the 4 stone blocks were remaining in their original position. Gained 3k in points. Seemed like there was a soft spot with the Boomerang bird and cage present.
After the BB was released and cage disappeared, points became harder to obtain. After reading everything above tried the same shot and could not get over 35k.
Following AMslimfordy’s video and lined up the aim of the bird with its black tail feathers and the grey line of the mountains in the background. Came closer to 41k.

I have a question in regard to the Boomerang Bird in the cage. Does it still exist? I have not yet seen it, and I have replayed this episode many times. Thanx.
Once the Boomerang Bird has been released from its cage it doesn’t reappear unless you reinstall the game from scratch. I’m working my way thru original Angry Birds a second time after an update wiped out all my previous data and Boomerang was in his cage the first time I returned to this level.

funny thing is, i have unlocked the BB 5 times now. i had to reinstall my app several times as i had HDD crash. and bought key 2nd time. but, i couldn’t get 0 birder any time
What boomerang bird a you talking about? In my 9-5 level there is only one big momma red bird
No boomerang on this level. I suspect there is an issue with the comments links…..comments dont make sense. the scores they posted look correct for this level though.

No, @amslimfordy it’s not urgent. I created a new thread mistakenly – should have replied under above original post by tatake. Both members are querying why other posters are talking about Boomerang Bird. I couldn’t remember if this was the level he was introduced or not. I’ve since found out it’s not, he’s introduced in Danger Above 6-4.
The result is, I too now would like to know what Boomerang Bird the above posters are talking about?

There is certainly something wrong here. I think these belong on 9-6 maybe. Very bizarre. I’ll handle it tomorrow. Too late tonight.

@cosmo2503 the boomerang bird is the green bird with the big beak..he’s called boomerang because you need to shoot him,the tap screen so he turns around ‘ boomerangs ‘back to your ultimate target ..
