Angry Birds Bad Piggies Level 21-9 Walkthrough

One strategy for Angry Birds Bad Piggies level 21-9 is to fling the Orange bird horizontally into the gap between the last two towers. The expanding bird can cause a massive domino effect of destruction, clearing the entire level. This is not overly common, but it seems to be the best method. The score in the video below is 163,620.

Two-bird strategy can give higher scores. First bird into the first gap (between first two structures), second one – to the third gap as on video.

My best 2-birder is 165k, with not much debris. I suspect the 170+ scores are 1-birders.

This is unfortunately one of those levels where the video just doesn’t do it justice, the end result in the video has to be a Super Fluke, I’ve been at it for half an hour, and the score slowly inches its way up game after game, here’s hoping I get that fluke soon, before I go totally bonkers.

@werewolf, I feel your pain ; Go for the 2-birder as annach described above, then call it a night, that 1-birder will wait for another day. :)

@bonneypattycat, actually, I just got the 1-Birder fluke, but I do think the score could have been a little higher for all this anguish.

I agree, got just 163k for all the nails I chewed to achieve the elusive 1 birder. This is one level I won’t try again soon!

It’s actually reasonably repeatable. The key is the point of inflation: it should be very close to the point in the video, at the top of the diagonal plank. The problem is getting there. I did it by flinging high and hitting just at the left edge of the rightmost tower.

I agree. I flung the bird higher and inflated just at the point you indicated. Before I got the one birder my high score with a two birder was 166K. Just a matter of how much debris is left I guess.

This is how I got several one birdies but the highest score I got was alot of 165K’s. I ultimately got more debris and higher score using the second bird between towers 1 & 2. I’m at 168720 with two birds. I’ll take it and move on ;-)

I have to agree with you @f91jsw on the strategy for the one-bird solution. It is repeatable but the difference comes to us in the results produced. I was stuck at 167K for a few days but kept fling’n. There is a “sweet spot” at the left top of the bottom diagonal plank. I have hit it a few times and this last time everything was destroyed. The grey wrench and a few wood/stone blocks remained.
Aiming tip: zoom in and look for a spike on the bottom of the tree that goes behind the sling in the background. With an iPad I tried to keep a small space between the spike and the body/beak of OB. Minor adjustments may be needed depending on the device one may us. Most of the time it should hit the left side of the top right stone block. I would activate it anywhere near the lower diagonal plank. Then pray.

followed that strategy: to left side of top-right stone block, bird should bounce back to top-left of diagonal wood in the gap (not infrequent, every few minutes). activate upon impact there. praying doesn’t seem necessary as i got 175k (155k+20k bonus) without it (got lucky after something like 10-15 attempts as described). here’s a screenshot showing the trajectory, destruction, score of that one:

http://angrybir.de/UUwXgT

(the 167k highscore until then, showing in the screenshot, was with 2 birds, obtained by lobbing the 2nd into the gap between 1st and 2nd tower, bouncing off the 2nd, activating it when level with the lowest stones in the towers. definitely worth to try this when the 1st is largely but not completely successful. i had been a bit unlucky not to get more, but 170k+ should be possible with it, i think.)

My best 2-Birder is 154310, but the really frustrating one is the 1-Birder at 157230. Time to move on & come back to this one later.

1-birdie!! OB in between the 3rd & 4th pillars breaking the plank – manually detonated just above the lower plank to ensure maximum debris – all other pillars, piggies & TNT wiped out!

A good reference spot to aim with the first bird: zoomed out, aim just a fraction to the left of the tree on top of the butte that is to the right of the sling.

Same shot as the video but shot on a higher arc. Gave more time to inflate manually. Though the domino effect did not work. Had to use another bird in between the first two towers.
Note: However shooting first bird in between 2nd and 3rd towers resulted in a chain destruction.

One bird for high score, between third and fourth tower, the trick is to have it lie on the left side of the lower plank for optimum destruction.

I noticed a possibility for minor self-inflicted destruction on this level. The third and fourth towers were swaying a little and the top diagonal wooden plank that spans the two towers slipped away. This caused the fourth tower to sway even stronger. Unfortunately I had already lobbed my first bird and did not have a chance to see if the entire tower would be forced to collapse into the other three like dominoes.

Has anyone noticed this? If it happens again I’ll try to wait to see if the tower falls and report back.

So very tired of this level. Before coming here I had, and still have, only 157K and 2*. Video method has never, never, never killed the right pig in the pit. It does result in better domino effect than lobbing the orange bird as I had been doing, But lobbing and inflating lower down seems to be the only way I’ve been able to ensure a pig in the pit kill. Unfortunately, and I really don’t know why, lobbing the bird does not result in the domino effect. My high score of 157K was done by the method @annach outlined. I’ve been on Bad Piggies for almost a week and I still have almost 10 levels I cannot 3*. I cannot wait to be done with it so I can move on to Surf and Turf.
