Angry Birds 2 update (version 2.3.0) is now available for iOS and Android. Take a stroll through 20 new Cobalt Plateau levels and defeat Chemist Pig in “Fluttering Heights”!
What’s New:

It’s also important to note that Angry Birds 2 is optimized for iPhone 6, 5, iPad 3, iPad mini and iPod Touch 5G or newer. You can try it on older devices, but we can’t guarantee a smooth bird flinging experience!

* As of this update you can no longer exit a level easily without losing a life. In fact, it seems that you can’t exit without flinging at least one bird in each scene. I consider this a serious new bug.
1) It will no longer be easy or quick to farm for presents, because you will have to complete a level without any presents to avoid losing a life.
2) You will no longer be able to open a level to see what your score is to enter it into the ABN leaderboard without losing a life (or completing the entire level).
3) An old bug which seems to happen more frequently is that the first level you complete does not count toward your daily objectives.
* This update should “fix” the arena “bug” where the winner was determined by cumulative score, not highest score. I haven’t confirmed this yet, but I do know that yesterday, I won the arena even though my highest score was 4th.

@mvnla2 I can exit a level without losing a life, just like before. The button is now different but it works the same way, at least in Android.
so if you get a present you will lose a life?

@mvnla2 nothing has changed actually. You can still exit a level without losing a life at the begin. Click pause and click the button that looks like a power button. Also yoy can still see your scores for levels. When you click a level a pop up comes and gives you the score before entering the level.
AB2 crashing on start up screen after update. I pad 3, latest io s operating system
@all — I have been thoroughly corrected, and deservedly so. As for seeing your score, you do have to open the level, but you don’t have to click play, and you won’t lose a life.
@qprstu1 — You might want to send a support request directly to Rovio. In the meantime, have you tried hard-closing all open apps, doing a hard power down and power up, checking to see that all apps really did remain closed and then restarting AB2?
I am on an iPad Air 2 with latest operating system. Not sure how much RAM the iPad 3 has.

None of the previously-released levels have been changed or swapped in any way. :)
how do you know what Chemist Pig will turn the blocks into? is it based by bird (Blues-glass Chuck-wood Silver-stone) or is it just random?
PS: Fluttering Heights? I just wish Rovio would put some more clouds (actually a lot more) to make it feel like the “Heights” in “Fluttering Heights”
Hi everybody.
I ran into a strange problem with the new release that someone else might learn from.
This was on an android 4.4.2 Samsung Galaxy 2014 tablet. I had specified “no automatic updates” for AB2 and did not know about this new release. So today I tried to fire up the old release 2.2.1, spectacularly unsuccessfully.
«1» *IF* my android tablet was connected to the Internet *THEN* Angry Birds II v.2.2.1 hung, every single time. Not crashed, hung — that “connecting” screen never dissolved away into pink clouds.
{Although I could have sworn that I heard the sound of a pig’s squealing laughter, off in the distance.}
«2» On the other hand *IF* I disconnected the tablet from the Internet *THEN* AB2 fired up quite politely.
The fix to my new, bizarro problem was to install the new release.
Apparently the software on my tablet needs to upgrade to 2.3.0 in order to talk to the new 2.3.0 server software Rovio now use on the Internet. ??
{Or maybe Rovio decided to give me a hard time because I insisted on sending them over 30 crash reports for the approximately 200 crashes that I endured. Each one of my crash reports embellished with a specially crafted message letting them how much I appreciated the wealth of crash gifts. God! I hope they fixed that.}
You need to evaluate when to hit a Chemical Pig. Example: if the structures are mostly wood and you have red, yellow and blue birds lined up, you probably don’t want to target Chemical and run the risk of having everything turn to stone. Try and get the most damage before the pig gets activated.

New levels are flawed. Several times I’ve got to boss with three birds but can only fire the one in the sling, the other two or not available. On firing bird, the other two cards can now be interchanged. Also dropped Matilda egg on boss, direct hit, did about 10% damage. Will take ten plus birds to kill! Three blues and yellow bird don’t even damage him. Screen shots were taken of faults, certainly not my imagination!
I’m getting a video ads that cannot skip after level.
And hate ads that appear when press gear icon, which slow down my device.
Yes, those ads are really annoying! And it seems that the game is now consuming more memory in general. My device can no longer run it seamlessly as before, now it gets really slow and sometimes even crashes. :P
Game hanging after first screen (The white rovio one) after applying this update (android)…. Any ideas?
I played level 240 / 260 . But i dont see that levels onnthe leaderbords from AB2.
