Walkthrough video and strategy for Angry Birds Friends on Facebook Winter Tournament II Level #5 Week 30 (this tournament began the week of December 10th, 2012 and was considered “Day 5”). This is a fun level. Our non TNT Drop strategy for this level is to utilize the Santa Bomb for your first bird, sending him down into the small wood beam sitting on top of the sled. His explosion will crumble the structure, but a highscore requires at least one of the cannons to fall the right direction. The score in the video is 161,070.
* Note, this is a special tournament (more info) celebrating the holiday season. If you truly want the highest possible scores in these levels you’ll most likely need to use Santa Bombs and TNT Drops. Since the placement of the TNT Drops is quite random, we want to show you a strategy that doesn’t require them.

177K Use TNT Drop first, then Santa Bomb with SS aiming at the wooden beam on the first sled (Like the angrybirdsnest team did in the video above). Hopefully Santa Bomb should roll through to the middle destroying lots of debris.
Level 5: I experience what I think was a glitch. I first used SS + KS Santa, followed by Terence. The latter fell of the cliff to the right with a cannon, which kept firing and giving me points. I realized there was something strange going on when it didn’t finish. The score in my account is more then 239K and could have been much more if I left it. Please let me know if you experience something similar.
Second best shot I have gotten for the moment is 184.76K, but some debris was still left. I think the winner strategy will be one where only Santa is used and the three cannons take out the rest.
Something like this just happened on level 5. Score of 267,150!! Kept firing…..until snowball took cannon out!

Keeping hitting the cannons and see what happens. I got one where the three cannons where left looking down in the middle and begun giving me points. At one moment they stop and no more points are given. So, they do not get destroyed as I originally thought.

Hi @birdleader, i was just asked to update the game and since then i’ve had this black border down the right had side of the screen and when i’m in full sreen the cursor wont grab the birds! Has anyone else had same problem that you know of? http://angrybir.de/YWblTS

Sorry guys, but I still cannot enter my highest score, 333,330…When the cannon stopped giving me points, I sent the YB and OB to the far right, where the cannon was. One of them pushed it a bit, so it started giving me points again for a while…

I actually love this level – and yes I noticed the glitch too which is a shame as there are loads of different ways to complete the level.
3 QUESTIONS:
1) Do we post the scores where the cannons keep shooting?
2) At first the cannon was shooting at a rate 4000 pts(approx) at a time. Then something moved and was shooting 30pts at a time (since I had a pig left I could leve it to shoot all day and then SB the bird). Do people experience the same change of points per canon shot? (first big then small)?
3) How does the level end to have it accept the score? Do they keep on shooting and never end the level?
Inmy experience, eventually the cannons counts stop on their own, whether from running out of ammo, or the game has a time limit, or whatever. I don’t know. I just know that it stops counting.
I found the same as you. about 4K down to around 50 points in the same play, but it did stop counting every time.
As I am writing these lines I have (http://angrybir.de/Rmx6sY) that keeps growing 30pts at a time. Currently 205K and rising… At some point I will shoot the SB and destroy the last pig… Going to make a cup of coffee, probably will go shopping and return at night to shoot it…
208K and rising… Doesn;t seem that it will ever stop. I think I’ll let it all day to see a score of 1 mil first and then shoot…
It stopped rising at 262K !!! Then launched SB for 332350 total.

Hi @donkey73 I got 273K+ with the glitch but have only posted my best score without the glitch but will post the 273K score if there is no more said about it! I was asked to update the game this morning and since then i have had probs with the screen!! check out my post to @birdleader above. Have you heard of anyone with same prob?
@Donkey73, I had the situation where the three cannons were looking down right in the center, so I had a chance of “seeing” what happens. The points keep increasing, but only up to a point and then they stop. The most interesting part is that the three cannons kept shooting, but no additional points were given. The score was much lower than the 278K that I got, butI think it was because a lot of debris was left. So, my conclusion is that you need both luck to activate it AND a damn good shot to clean the screen.
@f2sc and @congo:
1) Since the update, i can’t pull the sling and shoot birds at all. crazy!!!
2) Stupot, Even if you decide to post your 273K it won;t let you. 250K is max accepted in leaderboard.
3) My humble suggestion is this: (since people care about their total score in the tourney- I honestly don;t) we either all agree to post the max. 250K , or there will be a problem. For instance my previous score of 194K must have included a few points from canons shooting eachother (which with all the debris collapsing can;t be separated… The ONLY reasonable threshold that I can think of, is do not wait between shots for more than 10 secs and then post your score! That should clarify things and make it more fair.
What do you guys think?
4) Anyone achieved something similar to my score? (330K+) ? Or should I feel special (lol)…
5) I think i’ll go back to 194K which I had before…
6) The points stopped rising at 262K. One cannon shooting the other was enough. did not need 3 of them shooting. Then the last shot made it 330K…

260,890 using the glitch. I think you HAVE to let the “glitch” scores stand…. Whether it is intentional or not, the fact is, the glitch is there and it works. Anyone can utilize it. My problem is this : How do you deetermine if a score is “legitimate” or a “glitch” score ???? For instance, if someone posts a “legitimate” score of 190K, how do we know if someone elses gets the glitch, but stops it at 195K ???? Where is the dividing line ? In other levels, the cannons coninue to fire – so where is the difference between normal gameplay, and a glitch ? I dont think there is a choice…. it’s there for everyone to use….. you have to let the glitch scores stand……..

I am afraid there is no way of “knowing” unless people post pictures of their scores at the time it is given and the debris can be seen (not just the score), which I have unsuccessfully being trying to ask people to do for the past months… We have the same problem with many levels in this tournament.
I made my suggestion on the subject above! 10 sec max wait between shots. Now, how do we know they’re telling the truth? Well, we don’t, we never do….but I personally think it is ridicilous people to tell lies about a game! It’s a game!
P.S. @congo : Can you tell me how can I capture my score as it is added up, before the 3star screen appears and hides the debris? Just speed or is there some trick?

Bumped the threshold again, for those using the cannon.
i can confirm that the bug works with no powerups, i reached a score of 248k using my second bird to kill the final pig
253180 No PU’s, 2 birds. Probably like @cheesypeas above. 1ST bird left two cannons scoring around 1500 points a ‘shot’ until they stopped counting. Then the 2nd bird to finish the two pigs that were left on the mesa top.

Thanks to the glitch I look like a birdie genius to my FB friends! Thanks to everyone who pointed it out and gave tips how to exploit it.
No glitch at all. Without power-ups and no “glitch”, I used achieve around 180K. But when “glitch” happens, without power-ups, I achieved (that was my final score) 226K. But no glitch at all: it was only two cannons offscreen shooting each other just to the point one of them was destroyed. That was the “glitch”; even happened ONscreen if both cannons falls in the valley between the birds and the pig’s formation. You welcome.
