Angry Birds Star Wars Hoth Level 3-5 Walkthrough

Here’s a completely different strategy:

1) Aim Luke in an arc that is just below the top of the mountain ridge in the background. That should send him on a trajectory that impacts the middle tower in the top half of the row of three steel triangles upon which sits a green pig surrounded by a trapezoid consisting of two panes of glass and a steel bar on top. The panes of glass are “glued” to the triangles they rest on, and the three steel triangles are all glued together.

You need to activate the light saber before impact, because they need to be damaged prior to Luke hitting them or he’ll just fall down the middle crevasse. The light saber needs to damage at least two of the three triangles or Luke will just fall down the crevasse also. Assuming two triangles are damaged prior to Luke impact, he will bounce through and knock the third one (along with the attached glass pane) over onto the metal bar protecting the three pigs on a pane of glass above some boulders and dynamite.

If the triangle and glass land with the glass horizontal, watch to see if the pane of glass supporting the pigs is moving. Usually it will slowly slide left, moving the boulders until they set off the dynamite. Sometimes things just seem to be falling down and something sets off the dynamite — sometimes after a long (several seconds) wait. It’s important that the dynamite be ignited.

If the triangle and glass land with the glass vertical, it’s usually enough weight on the right side of the glass holding the pigs to cause it to sink and then set off the dynamite. If it does, the pane of glass is shoved straight up into the diagonal metal bar supporting the wooden plank upon which sits the white pig with the blaster. If you’re lucky, the force of the impact destabilizes the right tower, causing most of it to tumble down the hill on the right (there are well over 5K points right there) and the blaster pig is destroyed. If you’re really lucky, the blaster pig is knocked slightly forward and his blasts start taking out things on the left, as well as ricocheting off debris from the explosion, taking out what’s left of the tower holding him up (that’s how I got the high score of 99,790).

Either way (glass pane on triangle vertical or horizontal), the dynamite has to explode, the right tower needs to be destabilized enough at least to kill the pig with the blaster (and hopefully have most of it fall right), and the white pig in the middle crevasse needs to have died in the explosion.

2) Aim Leia up towards the sun in a high arc that will bring her down onto the green pig on the snow (between the first and second towers). You should practice targeting this shot BEFORE you get total destruction of the right side with Luke or you will be kicking yourself for hours or days later). As soon as you let her fly, target her tractor beam on the square steel block at the base of the first tower. If you did the targeting right, the entire tower will be lifted up and left, then come crashing down and take out the hanging white pig on the left along with giving you extra points for destroying some hardware. If you targeted the tractor beam wrong, it will either only lift up a few of the vertical steel bars (target is too high or too far right), or it will barely move the steel block at the base and cause the tower just to shift slightly left (target is too low or too far left so you are trying to lift ground along with the tower).

3) Using this strategy (assuming I was able to get everything to work with Luke and then properly aimed Leia and properly targeted the tractor beam) I consistenly had scores in the high 80’s to mid 90’s. The 99,790 was when I got lucky with Luke and the blaster pig did some extra damage before suiciding (that’s EXTREMELY rare, btw). Sometimes you get lucky and flying debris will deflect some laser blasts; sometimes flying debris takes out things on the left — I assume it was some lucky flying debris results that resulted in the 1-birder mentioned earlier. It’s VERY difficult to get more than 94 or 95K using this method — you need some luck, but with practice, getting over 90K is pretty easy (once you figure out the trajectory for Luke, the timing for the light saber, the trajectory for Leia, and the targeting for the tractor beam). If you can get over 60K with Luke, you should be able to score over 90K after Leia pretty easily. Even 50K with Luke (using this strategy) will get you well over 80K total.
