Those pesky Marmosets are back and madder than ever! Below is the first look at the forthcoming May Angry Birds Rio update that will likely include:
- 30 new levels and is aptly named, “Beach Volley”.
- Notice that the new hidden fruit looks to be a watermelon.
- Blu & Jewel seem to be an active part of the Angry Birds team
- Bomb bird! (thanks for pointing this out CougRon)
Honestly, I’m not sure why those Marmosets are so angry. Most “New World Monkeys” would kill to spend their days relaxing on a white sand beach, but I digress. Check out the Official Angry Birds Rio Beach Volley gameplay trailer below.
Note also that the black ‘bomb’ bird appears to be unlocked as well.

Well, there is another update to the full version due out in May as well.
No ! In one hour they are complete !
@Chuck-bartowski, it takes more than an hour if your goal is to get 3 stars on every level, all the fruits, “score addict” achievements, and other achievements (like destroying 2800 marmosets).
You can tell that they are still using labeled boxes to hide the fruit as well as grass patches

Another thing I realized is that there seems to be new sand blocks similar to the snow blocks in angry birds seasons greedings. Looks awesome!!
I saw that too. I think you’re exactly right. Personally, I’m not a big fan of structures not subject to gravity, but it seems to appear relatively often (snow blocks in Season’s Greedings, cloud blocks in Hogs and Kisses, etc).
I totally agree, it makes it feel less realistic…but then again we are slinging birds at pigs so it goes both ways haha.
Looks like the bouncy things are umbrellas. And is there a level with the leader Marmoset?

No, the game was based on the existing movie.
Sadly, no, but there are the monkeys, Blu, Jewel and Nigel.
Can’t wait! I think the fruit looks more like a casaba melon, but we will find out for sure very soon.:)
if they unlock the black bird in this update then the next update should have the green bird in it
Or perhaps the Boomerang Bird will be in this update, just wasn’t pictures in the teaser. But yes, should be here by July in any event.

I got the angry birds rio game off of amazon app store for android, whn will the update b out for this one since its tha 9th & wuz suppose to hve came out yesterday.
There was no specific date for the update to be released. However, I can say the update will hit Amazon Appstore before the Android Market (presumably out of fairness to paying customers).

I heard from my friend that the Red bird Blue bird and the White bird are all in the movie. I don’t know where he got this info but I will ask him more about it so I can confirm it for everyone.
Perhaps he is referring to this fun video called Nigel’s Mash-Up. However, as far as I know, the Angry Birds are not in Rio.

T’would be strange, normally the new achievements are loaded a little before the update is released..
angry birds rio disappeared from ovi store… this could mean that the updated version will be available very soon.

15: Beach Life (Clear all the beach levels)
20: Beach Volley Score Addict (3 310 000 pts)
15: Melon Mania (Collect all melons; I suppose “watermelon” was too specific of us)
10: Star Performers (Earn a total of 150 stars overall)
20: Nicely Tanned! (3-star Beach Volley)
Still 4 “Secret” Achievements, but we’ll see what happens. We think they are:
10: Explosive Temperament (Black Bird unlocked)
*20: Fruit Salad (Get one of each type of fruit)
15: 6 Million Dollar Bird (6 000 000 points earned in total)
*20: Multi-Millionaire (25 000 000 points earned in total)
*ed achievements would still be unattainable in the May update.
